Yesterday I was non stop chores n walks n erronds..I didn't stop from 0830 to 830pm.
And it was cold n windy..
The planet show last night was so clear and beautiful tho!

Today ...
I'm only going to do a few things then it's my day to relax. I'm switching to days so I need a few hours to do whatever I want and get to bed early for early wake ups all week.

Love those pics, Hooch. I've been watching the parade too. Nothing like the clear, cold winter skies.
Made it to early service this morning, the first time I've been healthy enough to get to church for weeks.
Ran a few errands and am lazing about by the fire.
Might go visit my Mom later today.

LOL so who do you trust? Random people posting stuff on the internet?

Like I said, I have used way ( at least a year) out of date stuff , and we actually still have that sheep and she is fine

Also, so far none of our butchered animals have had any problems passing inspection including livers and other organs

You know how they do medical testing like that? They pump some rats full off something and see what happens. Usually they die.

Either way, it was a cheap bottle of antibiotic and I can replace it when it expires anyway. Don't think the vet will give me a problem buying another one. But in an emergency ( like sheep having high temp on a Sunday) I will use whatever I have
To be fair, vets, like attorneys, doctors and dentists, operate businesses (e.g., there is no such thing as a license to practice law, the only license attorneys have is to conduct business (though they do have bar cards)).

Many vets are very against cramming every shot recommended, or required, into livestock and pets. Others love the profits they generate, just like doctors. In the end, when it comes to judgement, I trust my own over the majority of professionals, any time conflicts arise between one and myself or a family member. Things like the safety of mercury in fillings, fluoride use, and cholesterol would be good examples.

our vet is a no nonsense livestock vet that is most definitely not rich and not charging anywhere near what typical city vets treating pet dogs and cats charge. So far I have never had bad advice or bad medicine from him and nobody else I know has either that uses him. He is the only vet in that town. If he says I can use the medicine a little past expiration date, I trust his judgement. He did not make money off it either, this is a cheap generic livestock antibiotic that costs about $10
Some people do what they do because they want to, not just for the money. We certainly don't make any farming

Oh and LOL I have had a mouth full of mercury fillings since I was a kid, and still alive. I had a few replaced with white ones and they fell apart too fast. I have one filling the dentist I now go to almost didn't believe me when I told him I got that before I moved to the US ( moved here when I was 18) and it's still ok

So, ok both husband and me are stupid...the Ranger has 2 different size tires on front and back! We had never noticed that. That explains why the replacement tire we got didn't fit on the front! It was a back tire. Husband noticed when he took an old back tire and put it on the front to replace the flat one and it also didn't fit. So nothing is going to get done about it until the new correct size tire comes in the mail. I am not going to pay twice the amount buying it from the Polaris dealer ( if they even have one) and the usual vehicle repair shop we go to doesn't have that size

Got our load of wood but it is not seasoned and very wet. But nice wood and a good price so we will just stack it for next winter and put some in the oven when we have a good fire going already
BUt now we need to go get some more other wood that will actually burn

Son is starting work tomorrow, I think I am more nervous than he is!! His first real job ( well, he worked as a chef at the university for a while, in a warehouse during summer and made pizzas at pizza hut) , I hope it goes well and I hope he gets there ok. We are supposed to get some snow tonight maybe. I hope we don't

And now the really bad and annoying news: talked to daughter and now they are going to ship son in law off to Japan! The Navy seems to be determined to break up their marriage one way or another. He is trying to get out for medical reasons ( PTSD) but so far nothing happening, they are just giving him drugs. So if you have any kids or grandkids, discourage them from joining the Navy unless they are young and single and plan on staying that way until they get out!! IT is NOT a family friendly place

Why did he join the Navy then? Surely he must have known that they would send him wherever they needed him. There are worse places to be than Japan.
We buy our ATV tires from our local tire store.

The military has never been family friendly. That's not the purpose of the military. No military is family friendly. One is an expendable government issue piece of material.

they met in the Navy , got married when they were both in the guard
the problem is she cannot go to Japan, so they will be seperated for 2 more years , few marriages will survive that
( but yeah, they did sign up)
she is going to get out in May at least that's one good thing ( but she won't move to Japan then either because he will be on a ship mostly and she can't work there, plus would need daycare) , she plans on moving back to Florida and getting a job there

true, but they should make some sort of effort that married people with kids can stay together somehow. No wonder they are having problems getting people to sign up
Not worth the money if you ask me, and I personally would never sign up. I would go work at the Mcdonals or walmart before I joined the military ( when I was young)

The purpose of the military is to kill people and break things and to do so where they are told to do it. If married life is important than stay out of the military. It's not a social experiment. I left the Guard after 11 years when it became evident to me that my girl friend at the time (now wife) and I were very serious. I know that the military is not family friendly.

Don't know where my day went, but I did manage to get pumpkins cooked that I had in the basement. Cleaned the windows downstairs, and dusted furniture. Husband decided he needed some stuff cleaned out in his office because he could not move around and bring in new stuff, so I was his cleaner and putter away person. He doesn't like anyone to touch his stuff. Ha. One section looks better, and at least he knows where some things are. So I spent quite a while helping him. Laundry caught up, and I put a charged Oupes generator on the little drink fridge because I can.

Didn't get any house cleaning done, didn't mess with firewood!! I did get the laundry done and put away, made cupcakes instead of brownies for Hubby, spent quality time with the critters, took Bear and the two outside cats for a woods walk, cleaned the fridge, took a nap!! Going to make supper shortly!

Last week of January 2025 👍
Sunday Jan 26th

I start to have anough of Winter
0f right now + winds
2 more months to feel a difference

3 loads of laundry today = done
I am not hungry ...but I should eat something
I will see
The fridge and freezer is full ..but
I just feel to bundle up and it will be nice to sleep

Anyway...I fed Dane Girl --the Cats
and changed some cat litters

Hope you will get a nice night

ok, what should I have gotten instead then? I need an antibiotic for emergencies that I can use for injuries, giving to moms if I have to pull babies , pneumonia . Those are usually the things I need it for, but not often enough to waste over $60 on a small bottle of Nuflor
( the stuff I have was cheap)

I think I will ask someone at the vet school. I know a few people there , just to see
Let us know what you find out... I've seen studies of organ damage in animals given oxytet that had gotten old and there's no way I would use it after expiration on an animal again. At least not the injectable kind. I did once and that goat died...which could have been a coincidence, but i don't want to experiment with that theory.

Have been going nonstop. Since the fire, things have been “off.” We’ve not been impressed with property management from the beginning, but this is ridiculous. We bought a place. Just an acre but checked so many of our boxes we decided to go for it. The catch: everything was a strong mint green- doors, trim, walls all of it. I’ve been painting like crazy. We pulled out the carpet and new flooring should arrive by Wednesday. This place has nearly a 1/4 acre garden area. Hubby thinks it should all be peppers 😂
A family member died of “blood clots” 🙄. He was the one who just sent me the genealogy stuff so I was kinda upset about that.
Then multiple less significant life things, but all requiring attention.
I’m not going anywhere, but might be hit or miss for a while.
