You should listen to your hubby. It sounds like he knows what he's talking about.Have been going nonstop. Since the fire, things have been “off.” We’ve not been impressed with property management from the beginning, but this is ridiculous. We bought a place. Just an acre but checked so many of our boxes we decided to go for it. The catch: everything was a strong mint green- doors, trim, walls all of it. I’ve been painting like crazy. We pulled out the carpet and new flooring should arrive by Wednesday. This place has nearly a 1/4 acre garden area. Hubby thinks it should all be peppers
A family member died of “blood clots”. He was the one who just sent me the genealogy stuff so I was kinda upset about that.
Then multiple less significant life things, but all requiring attention.
I’m not going anywhere, but might be hit or miss for a while.
Congratulations on the house purchase!
There are a couple of cherry trees that are in dire need of attention. A couple of large dead branches. A gal stopped by today and said the local hardwood place might buy them. I laughed. Cherry wood is great for smoking things.

I would gladly take some of those dead branches. I use apple, cherry, and pecan a lot for smoking.

My grandfather worked for the county and had access to left over paint. So... There was plenty of green. It got better.

So happy yall got a place!!! Give those trees some azomite, works wonders! 100lbs should be enough for the trees and the garden. Yep, cherry is great for smoking fish, I've sold lots of it just for that purpose!

Years back, I was at a local Acres conference covering soil treatment of crops. One of the attendees was all about minerals he brought in from that neck of the woods. To promote the product, he sold walnuts from trees with soil fortified by mineral additions from your neck of the woods. They were delicious. A cut above.
First-hand experience makes clear, to me, the value of treating soils with various things, be it tomatoes with a bit of Epsom salts, or what have you. So thanks for the tip/reminder.

Work day!! Mid 50's today, sunny. I think we really are splitting firewood later! I still need to clean the big storage shed!! Guess we'll see how the day goes!!

Work today. Prepping for a big event.
Waiting on seeing the surgeon for the follow up. Thank God my brother’s friend was able to come with us. I would never have been able to handle this alone.

Probably split some firewood. It's supposed to start snowing Thursday night and continue for the next 10 days. Could be 4 feet or so.

Finished taking care of husband's stuff, a quick clean up upstairs, cleaning the kitchen, starting the 9 grain bread, and restocking the firewood and kindling inside. Getting ready to go do the outside animal chores and get the dog wore out.
