Going to a regular job, and cleaning their master bedroom carpet and the upholstery on their two chairs in there! I really should clean the carpet in our den when I get home, but I have an older carpet cleaner I use for houses with pets, so I'll just skip that today, lol!!

No clue what's up today...lots I have to do, like animal chores and husband's stuff. Still need to spend more time in food storage organization. And have a lot, a lot of potato flakes to repackage. We'll see what I end up doing.

I would agree but if I don't get the road open within the next few days, and we get another 3 or 4 feet of snow like they're predicting, then we're stuck until May. We have plenty of food and fuel on hand so thats not a problem. We have a doctors appointment on Wednesday that we should probably go to.

Well.... maybe you can find a few moments of peace and tranquility while lying on your back in the snow to catch your breath and avoid a heart-attack.

I'm going to try the snowblower first. It's pretty comfortable with the heated cab. If I can make it to the country road then I need to come back and get the tractor to dig through the berm that's left from the county plow.
I do so much digging around here in snow, ice, and frozen ground that I'm beginning to think I'm immune from heart attacks.

Getting real equipment today for hobby. Sand blasting cabinet is here and will be brought to me this morning. Have many pieces to work then start reassembly. Primer and put aside until paint scheme decided. After talking with my "train guys", they say repower the old stuff. The old motors may run fine but don't agree with the new DCC systems. No problem, more brass!

My Irishman has decided.
With no protest from me for a change.
That he needs his own vehicle.
That way if he wants to go for a drive across town?
He can just hop in his vehicle and go.
While he has been deciding things.
He has decided he needs his own place too.
That way my apartment won't be too small all the time.
He can only stay at my place for so many days a month due to the lease.
Normally when he's in town, he just crashes at some else's house.
But everybody is getting a little tired of that.
I think everybody thinks it's time for him to put down roots somewhere.
It's been 10 years of nomad life for these guys.
Kinda like Spikedriver's life.
Their company is opening an office in Kansas City, Missouri.
All 6 of these men have applied for the job.
This way the other men, women and their families will have more time together.
We shall see how it goes.
We find out next week if the 6 men got the job and will be home every night.
It will be an adjustment for everyone involved.

so got an appointment at the vets late, hope we get back before dark, but he needs to go. He is now not eating either.
I don't know how we will get him in a crate in the back of the truck. He's huge and if he doesn't want to move it will be hard. And son is at work, so no help there.

After breakfast I'm going out and start snow blowing the road again. We got another 6 inches of snow this morning, and it's still snowing. The thing that's making it hard to clear our road, besides being 3 miles long and steep, is that we had a foot of very heavy wet snow last week and now it's frozen solid. Oh well, winter will be over in a few months.

I'm off today, did grocery shopping and a couple loads of laundry. I ended up doing a couple hours of paperwork for the office to keep deadlines at bay. Plan to gas up that car and do a little yardwork this afternoon.

I did put in all the updated numbers in my personal planning spreadsheet and was pleased to see that I can walk away from the job anytime I want from this point forward, everything is well covered. Being prepared is very liberating in uncertain times.

Another waiting room. Again. Oral surgeon having the last five teeth in Dad’s head removed. They are too decayed going into radiation. If they needed removal in the first year or so after radiation, he’d have problems with healing. Poor fella just can’t catch a break. As he says, live long enough get a shot at everything.

This waiting room is freezing and, ironically, showing video of tropical resorts in the Maldives on the tv.

It’s warm today, almost 40*. Tomorrow afternoon and Sunday we’re expecting snow. Then again on Tuesday through Thursday. Brother was originally supposed to come down for this dental visit but they’re getting snow and ice and yesterday he would’ve been driving through a storm on the outer edges of the Adirondacks.

Made one pass down the driveway and to the mailbox. Only took 3 hours. I wasn't able to run the blower coming up the hill, it's too steep and too much ice. After lunch I'll re-fuel and make another pass. I could probably make it out right now with my Jeep but I don't think it would make it back in. In places there's probably 4 feet of snow on the road.
The temperature is supposed to start dropping down to below zero in a few days.

Got a shelf built from scrap wood, a badly needed addition to my tool rm. Instead of cluttering up the table I have a place for high use items, tape measures, steel rules, cleaning supplies, mapp gas and lighters, plastic containers for temp storage.

Got three walls and the ceiling of another closet painted, and started taking down the fourth wall. The other side of the end of the closet is the end of the long hallway. I want to push that wall section into the closet by about 14" to make an alcove for a cabinet. I'm thinking a glass-door cabinet with lights and all of my Husband's beer steins on glass shelves will make a nice glow at the end of the dark hallway.
Getting myself confused trying to research flooring options for the house, so many possibilities and I have to get it right, this is a one and done project. I'm tired of living with the painted subfloor, very hard to keep clean.
Also trying to do some cleaning and organizing in the basement to clear an area to set up for seed starting, it's getting to be that time soon.
Though I'm finding it hard to not just take a nap by the stove in the sunlight. Maybe dreaming about bacon.

Have been going nonstop. Since the fire, things have been “off.” We’ve not been impressed with property management from the beginning, but this is ridiculous. We bought a place. Just an acre but checked so many of our boxes we decided to go for it. The catch: everything was a strong mint green- doors, trim, walls all of it. I’ve been painting like crazy. We pulled out the carpet and new flooring should arrive by Wednesday. This place has nearly a 1/4 acre garden area. Hubby thinks it should all be peppers
A family member died of “blood clots” . He was the one who just sent me the genealogy stuff so I was kinda upset about that.
Then multiple less significant life things, but all requiring attention.
I’m not going anywhere, but might be hit or miss for a while.

I started reorganizing the small parts cabinet drawers. Got a 1/4 of the way done and realized I was swimming against the tide! The whole room needed reorganization, made functional. So yes, there are empty drawers but it’s temporary.

Came in for lunch and fell asleep. The sun is out now. What a beautiful day here. I think I'll refuel the snowblower and just park it in the shop and call it a day. I felt like I was coming with something last night.

Decades ago I rook a week off and put (2) 4x8 sheets of plywood on saw horse. Spent the time walking around sorting cans and boxes of hardware by type then size. Then filled drawers...

Bulk purchases went into larger drawers.

Another set of drawers contain electronic components pulleys belts gears.

But I still need more drawers for this pile.

God willing I will get to that project.
