Half day of work this morning, and half of that was rearranging stored "stuff" in the upstairs storage area. Thankfully it has been a rather slow winter for us work wise, I am enjoying my time off.
I was getting ready to leave and noticed a text to the boss that a customer was on his way to pick up his 4 wheeler so I sat down and looked at my phone, our community "Nextdoor" page had a listing for free stuff sitting at the end of a driveway. I grabbed the food storage stuff. I scored (LDS food storage qty 6 #10 cans) a case of long grain white rice, a case of Black Beans, a case of Pinto Beans, and a case of Dehydrated Carrots. Plus, an unopened case of military MRE's (case A), one of those tall square plastic survival food buckets, and 2 packs of powdered milk.
Aside from the rice most is not something we would normally eat but it will all get added to my existing stash, which contains mostly similar LDS food storage stuff and my self packaged white rice. But if the time comes where we are hungry I am certain it will be delicious. And I definitely can't beat the price.

If I finish my couple hour mid day break I suppose I will start organizing my tax paperwork. Ugh.

Nice price on that food storage stuff, Inresponse (ha)
Went to Atwoods in the bigger town. Boy was that place quiet. Loaded up again on feed so I don't have to go out again for awhile. Also got more buckets and lids to avoid Walmart. Seed potatoes were in so got the yukon gold and red. Husband is drilling away on the handtruck.

High temp of 12 degs today. It feels pretty nice in the sun. I got a call from the farm/ranch supply store today. They said my new shotgun is in. We'll head down in the morning, after we give blood at the clinic, and pick it up.
Supposed to get a storm on Thursday with maybe a foot or two of snow. I did some damage to the snowblower today when I hit a hidden boulder. It bent a corner of the auger housing. I'll have to straighten it out before I blow any snow again.

It's not getting here until tomorrow night into Thursday morning. Current forecast is just 5-9". Not really a big deal unless there are winds and whiteouts. Thankfully I don't have to go anywhere until Sunday.
Ran into town on my lunch break today but it took so long to find the light bulb I needed at the hardware store that I just came right back home instead of stopping anywhere else. Guess I didn't really need anything anyways.
My over the stove microwave has this strange little two-loop base bulb, reminded me of the first halogen car lamps that came out, where you could actually change out the bulb. Finally found the right thing and I'm quite glad to have my nightlight back.
What, doesn't everyone use the stove light as a nightlight?

I know several people who use stove or microwave nightlights!

Since we're on solar we try to watch our electric usage somewhat. We use whatever lights we need, but everything gets turned off when we go to bed. It's pitch black in here at night. Not a light to be seen anywhere.

Trip to town… stopped at the hardware store and got some rustoleum rust reformer spray. Saw another product I’d read about, Evapo-rust. Bought a small bottle, worth a try. Bought a couple of multi-rail socket trays at harbor freight then stopped for groceries. Got soaked putting the groceries in my truck.

It’s already rained 2” this afternoon, supposed to get 3 or 4 inches over night. Guess I’ll be up late watching the sump pump, just as well. Gonna go up above the high field and check on a new born calf about midnight. He was born too late in the day for his mama to move him. I’m worried about coyotes, want to leave my scent everywhere.

My cousin called to tell me about the calf. He also told me he ran the hay spike into the radiator of the old ford tractor when he was putting the big tractor under the shed. It’s tricky parking those two tractors nose to nose, especially at night. Anyway, he’ll order a new radiator, we’ll put it in when the weather warms up.

Just watching tv and listening to it rain...

I would be at work by 5 am!! It's a little after 8:30 pm, and I am going to bed!! Making up for lost time! Just glad I lived through it!!😮

what sort of stuff do you sell? I have bought stuff on there but never sold anything
I'm curious too, but reluctant to ask about what I won't say. So... now I'm selling vintage stereo equipment. I stock-pilled a few brand name items that bring good money. Restoring them was gonna be a retirement gig. Now?... who's to say I'll live that long and there'd still be a market for them then. Now I'm checking out a 50 year old stereo receiver that I'm gonna miss when it's gone. But it'll bring a few hundred bucks, and meanwhile it's cool listening to some jazz music, while getting sheet together to package up something similar that just sold.

A quiet day in today keeping as cool as possible due to it being really hot all day got to 41.0 just before 16:10 (4:10pm) currently its sitting at 34.7 degrees with a nice light breeze cooling things down thankfully there was no wind today but a fire ban could've been issued though due to how dry it is thankfully tomorrow its meant to be slightly cooler albeit very windy then a full week of cooler weather next week before it heats up again

Sitting up with Bear during thunderstorms! He likes us to go out in the den during storms for some reason, he doesn't seem too scared, guess that's his safe room!🤔 Good timing, put wood on what was left of the fire. I'll go to work today, probably stop for gas.
