i was awesome today...did NOT watch young and restless and didnt eat any potato chips !!

how about yall...were you awesome...i hope you were !

i tried to be extra awesome and hike...but 24f and snowing...well i failed today going to do that...no trails in blizzard experience.

This would be a great thread of it's own! Very motivational!!

Last day of staycation!! As soon as I feed Bear and the inside cats (any minute now), I'm taking a sleep break!! The wood stove needed extra feedings last night so I was up more! Lots I can do inside today. Also need to spend more time with Buddy later. Need to get my cleaning supplies ready for work. The snow should go away later, but not getting above freezing today.

so sorry for your loss, can relate, one of ours died a few weeks ago and he was only 7

cold warning today, it is 11 degrees and not supposed to get above 14 today . I am dreading going to look at the sheep, sure hope there is no lambs today of all days
Son went to work despite the snow on the road. He has tire cables on the front at least. I don't think he will be able to get back up our road but he can just leave the car at the bottom and we can get him on the Ranger
Talked to daughter last night, they actually got more snow in Virginia Beach than here, over a foot. She has a snow day and grandbaby was playing in the snow having fun. At least someone is enjoying the weather...
Maybe if I start seeds in a tray the weather will improve? Usually by now we have plowed up the garden and I have little plants in pots ready to go into the garden in March...this year, not even started yet

Not much different here! It's down to 7° right now, but there's always some on here that have to comment that the temps we have are not cold! You must just be imagining it's cold like I am @sonya123 , !! This has been quite a winter, and those who like it can keep it!!

we used to go skiing every Christmas trip and I don't remember it being THIS cold in VERMONT. It was usually in the low to mid 20s, and we wear wearing a lot of ski gear. One time in Maine it got to minus 11 and the lifts were shut down, so no skiing.
It's different when you have to take care of animals. I can't for example clean the barn with ski gloves on. It just doesn't work

It's negative 9 out and would you believe there's school today for little granddaughter? It's a two hr late start, but it won't get much better in two hrs. I feel sorry for the bus driver, Cheryl. She's an elderly lady, but has driven bus forever. Thinking about Clem having to drive in cold weather.
Not much going on today, except surviving animal chores in 15 minute increments. I'll start about 10 am. Fire is going, dog is back to sleep on the couch. I'm sure the barn cats are piled on the heating pad in the garage, and hoping the turkeys are alive.

I'm back online. There was a bad connector on the cable from the modem to the router.

Its my last day for feeding Chester the cat for a while. I take Bernard the hound to the park at noon, and then Nova the Aussie Shepherd afterwards.

I've been working on going through more stuff, organizing and purging. Have a good sized thrift store donation pile going.

I need to go to the car wash. There is so much magnesium chloride on my car that seeing out the driver's side window is not easy. I'll clean it before I drive this morning, but the whole car needs a shower when it finally gets above freezing.

well...i am just caring on about ashley and young and restless...why widow women...well at age of 59 many women i have ran into on trail hiking have been widows....they often offer up this information in passing conversation on trail...i was sorta shocked to be honest at just how many....this late in life you either are a divorced or widowed if you are someone i could have a date with...why..cause elk dont mess with married women...good way to end up in hell in the end and shot dead.

at a senior age theres few of population not been married or widowed...i know 2 on this forum...me being one...thees another i know of she can shout out if she wants too...oh wait theres 3...just recalled another...i think.

conversations go like this...hey how ya doing sure is a nice day to be out on trail and getting a hike in....yea it sure is...i been getting out a lot the last few years since my husband passed away 2-3-5 years ago...have a good hike see you later.

first time a woman told me she was a widow it sorta shocked me.....i see it more on trails closer to a larger town in my area.

it may be a way of an older woman opening up conversation to an older male...i dont know...i dont know much about women really and how they function...i rely on female friends for advice in that area often.....i failed so much in the past.

You would think so, but I had a big ol argument with her this morning to wear her heavy coat, that she picked out, I might add. She always says she's not cold and wants to wear a thin hoodie (to be cool). I told her I didn't want to hear it this morning, and the school would probably call child services on me if she went in with just a thin hoodie. She was also wearing a short sleeved t shirt. Geesh. 13 yr old middle school girl angst. My eyes are rolling.

Our sun is out, too, but it's deceiving. It has now warmed up to negative 3. I'm going to bundle up like your last photo and do a chicken coop, then come in and warm up. This is going to take awhile.

While the wife was getting ready for her appointment this morning I fed and watered the critters. It doesn't take long, just dump the ice out of their water buckets and refill. Throw out some hay and grain and done in 20 minutes or less.
