Drove into the other town for little granddaughter's school conference, and on the way home we loaded up at the amish grocery and checked the mail. Husband having a hard time with his knee today, so we've been improvising getting him moved around where he wants to be. Hoping it'll feel better tomorrow, because it's not easy. Florida sis called and we caught up on the phone for a long time, that was fun. Bumped into my cousin Harry at the grocery, and he looked horrible. I'm surprised he even got the horse hitched to the buggy. He just got in from Ohio a few days ago by train, and appears to have caught the muck. He's going to be 80 soon, so I worry about him. It hit here while he was gone, so hoping another round isn't going to be happening.

My buddy called to ask me to fetch his mail. He is back in the hospital having had another part of his toe amputated. He says he should be out soon.

Since I was out I toured the backfield and checked a house recently put up for sale. I am shocked at the asking price for a place half the size of ours. The Princess has declared we aren't buying any more real estate until we finish the hobby house.

The backfield had a tree come down that I will need to clear. Some wild grape vines are holding up so it will be tricky getting it on the ground. Project for another day.

Then back to the Hobbit hole.

The Princess want to move the fireplace up and thr mantle down. I may make a card board cut of the television so we move stuff around to decide.

33 days until The Princess retires. Then we can team on this project.

It'll be more fun working as a team

this site is running very slow today
today animal care, laundry that I didn' get to yesterday and maybe walking Otto along the road since it is still very windy.
tomorrow we have a market meeting , that is probably when the lambs will arrive...
I am thinking about trying to bake some new things for the market, have some recipes I want to try out, but the problem is they are time consuming . What I want to bake and what is profitable is not always the same thing. I have mostly given up on baking things that take a lot of time to shape , like bagels or pretty pastries and have even made cinnamon rolls into a bread . Much faster to make 4 breads than 20 rolls
So I have a random question: if you were to buy some baked goods at a farmers market , what would you like to see there ( besides regular bread)? How much would you be willing to pay for it?

Dropped off keys at old house yesterday 🥳
Got some things done outside (see garden thread). Primed and painted hallway wall that was repaired- will do second coat this morning then I can get the brown paper up off the floor and get it cleaned up.
Have another chiropractor appointment this morning then painting, planting and more unpacking.

Husband still not putting weight on one leg, says his knee is hurting, so he's using the electric scooter instead of the walker, even to go 5 feet. Hmm. Was hoping it would be better today, I had to move alot of stuff around yesterday, so we'll see.
No school for little granddaughter today, and she needs new tennis shoes, so we'll go into the bigger town this afternoon, and maybe also load up with feed since she can help with that. Tonight is the town's Liverwurst and Fried Mush supper, so we'll be going to that, was hoping husband would go with the wheelchair, but we'll see. Animal chores this morning, and more clean out in the greenhouses. The weather looks nice!

@hashbrown , I hope you are recuperating nicely!

Couldn't finish spraying weeds, yesterday as I ran out of spray. Didn't want to go to town to get more. So next week, I will finish that.
Ended up writing ebay drafts for 5 pairs of shoes. So we will take photos this afternoon.
Other than that, will walk.
Walk dogs.
Make oatmeal for DH.

Tomorrow morning, will be helping my friend outside of town for a few hours.

Things I buy at the farmer's mkt that I know I can make, but don't make....cinnamon rolls, pumpkin roll (the one with the cream cheese rolled inside), chive bread ring (stuffed with something inside, and starts as a roll, then is pulled and cut to a ring), foccacia bread.
I already make the cinnamon roll bread ( it's basically the same recipe but shaped into loaves) , and foccacia bread both sell really well.
The bread ring, I know what you are talking about . Tried it once and it looked crappy LOL but thanks !
I can't sell pumpkin roll, has cheese in it, not allowed here . I am already pushing it by selling goat milk for " donations"

Glory be!
The Irishman has bought a house.
It's in my hometown.
I'm excited for him.
This should be an eye opening experience for him.
Now as everyone else gathers his belongings from our houses, apartment.
He will clearly see what was scattered everywhere.
The teenagers in various households are staking claims to newly emptied areas in their homes.
Exciting times for all.
Front porch time:
Coffee, crocheting sitting out on the front porch enjoying the sunshine.
Laying out garden areas in flower pots, stock tanks, raised garden beds.
Started various Jalapeno seeds,

I know cookies and breads like cheese bread, jalapeno bread sell real well here, and pies...fruit and pecan mostly because they can't do cream. I just wouldn't buy any of those normally because I do my own. Some lady was selling "homemade tortilla chips" and salsa last season but not sure if she did well. I think pies are the best seller here and a fruit pie sells for $14, or it did last year.

Going out to start draining the oil in the truck soon. I figured it out this morning, I put less than 6,000 miles on my truck in the last 18 months. Even less on my Jeep. Just hit 1,000 hours on the tractor too, it's a 2018 model.
Drove the side by side yesterday to pick up our mail and check out the condition of the road. It's still not drivable. Maybe next week we can drive out. The new wood chipper should be in by Wednesday. I had it delivered to the next state over, no sales tax. Saved a lot of $$$. My new boat should be in next week too.
