Glad you are getting better! Will work take you back part time at first?
I’m sure if I told them I could only work half days for a few days they’d be fine with it. In fact, they’re so short handed that if I said I need to bring a hospital bed and work laying down in that they’d fling open the doors.

Makes me want to sing
Dead ant
Dead ant
Dead ant, dead ant, dead ant dead ant, dead ant 🎶

As an aside, I loved Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther movies.
Was it a J shaped tire iron? My first vehicle had a J tire iron and I couldn't get lug nuts off for love or money with that sucker. ASAP I bought myself a 4 way tire iron and I spray paint the end that works for that car. It has been suggested here to get a special tool that is similar to a drill like they use in tire shops. I am at a loss right now for what the name of it is. I looked for one and saw that they are around $200, and I haven't invested in one yet.
Yes. It was J-shaped. Crappy made-in-China one to boot. The cross shaped ones work a little better but it can still be tough. One of these days I'll get the pneumatic kind since I do have an air compressor but it would only be used at home.

Had to put air in one of my tires. I think it has a valve stem leak. Was down to 18psi. Picked up mail and grabbed some stuff from Walmart. I found they had a digital caliper in stock.

Had a rough night trying to sleep because Princess was agitated and would not calm down. Don't know what her problem was. She's fine now.

Got Yasuke on my lap happily purring away. Bethesda is on my knees, Gravy Jones is clinging to my left leg, Biscuits is on my right leg and Princess is finally sleeping peacefully next to me.

Rained most of the day. Had a friend stop by for a few minutes and brought me some cackleberries and asked if I could make her some more lotion bars- oh yeah 😁. Then the electrician who will be back tomorrow. Then my folks and they took a few things which was nice. Anything out is good. I am slowly getting things gone through and put away. Found the notebook I use for doing my numbers so that might be on the docket for tomorrow.

I had my experience with a J shape once, and that was enough. It is worth the investment to get a 4 way cross type lug remover.
The cross type can be tough, but are easier. I actually stood on one side of it two times when removing lug nuts. I couldn't get them to budge otherwise. Yes, a pneumatic kind would be great, but I usually end up with flat tires in the middle of nowhere Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana or North Dakota. Sometimes I've seen signs that say, "Next gas station, 75 miles." Okay. And sometimes you can drive and rarely see another vehicle.

Hubby’s in the kitchen making hot sauce. Mostly habaneros with a couple purple reapers 🌶️ 😲. We have the windows open so we can breathe 😂
That would be similar to grinding horseradish. We only did that outdoors. Outdoor kitchens are great. Wish I had one. Cousin has a summer kitchen that is primarily used for canning. That would also be a great thing to have.

still waiting on the last 2 sheep to have their lambs, and now we have a goat that has some sort of issue. Our biggest weather that is supposed to go in the freezer next month. I hope he is ok. He was standing there panting and shaking yesterday evening. No obvious injuries or illness. It almost looked like he had been running and was dehydrated, but Ozzy was in the empty pasture playing with Otto, so no dog chased him. So not sure. Hope he is ok today, we put him in a stall with food and water
Always something....
Need to go get grain at the feed store , almost out. Might do that today
We did clean the house yesterday.

Feeling better, a buddy called and said, hey about that generator you are looking for... would $300 be too much? Lets see a slightly used 6.5Kw generator with a new carb and the wheel kit, for $300, not bad. Now, I just need him to throw in a 220volt extension cord :)
Why does it have a new carb if it's slightly used?

Cousin came over and helped me change the wheel base width on the tractor. Set it to 72". This allows me to plant and plow rows on 36" centers in the garden. Yes, farming requires math for the oddest things... 🤣 The width had been set to 57inches which is best for cutting and baling hay.

Anyway, a straight forward process but it's easier to wrestle the rear tires around with 2 people. My cousin knew a trick for setting the front axle width. Loosened the bolts and used the power steering to make the changes, easy peasy...

No plans tonight but laundry and tv...

Going out soon and start a fire in the fur shed. Got some skinning to do tonight. There's only a couple days of legal trapping season left for beaver and muskrat. I'm going out tomorrow and saturate an area with traps to catch as many muskrats as possible before the end of season. If I go over a few days it's no big deal. The rancher wants them all gone. I tried explaining that it would be impossible to catch them all. I've been trapping this ranch for years and there's as many critters there today as when I started trapping there 10 years ago.

still no lambs, I am starting to worry about one of them, she is just huge and looks like her udder is about to explode. She better have them soon...

the goat is ok, I think maybe he just got too hot and didn't drink enough.
Did too much today, gardening, dug up weeds in my boxes the stuff that doesn't like clay soil goes in like carrots, plus shoveled dirt and composted manure into pots to start peas. Usually I just put them in the garden but they keep getting eaten, so I am trying this.

Husband went to get the grain, so I had time for gardening in between washing bed stuff, checking the sheep and feeding bottle babies

Went to chiropractor this morning. My back finally stayed in so I don’t have to go back unless needed 😊
Made a batch of soap, two batches of lotion bars, a loaf of sourdough and a pot of spud soup with ham and bacon.
Electrician was here to fix the doorbell. The contractor had pulled the transformer out completely (gone via garbage) and didn’t snap a pix of wires. We ended up totally disassembling it and I found a model number so was able to find a wiring schematic. It’s 1968 musical chime with about 20-25 tunes including Clementine, Captown Races, Home on the Range, Wm Tell Ovtr. Oh Susanna and so on. Kinda funny.

Well that is a problem ;)

Hubby and I rescheduled our jobs today. High wind warning and extreme fire danger. I know we will have more tree damage. We definitely want to be around 'just in case'! I'll catch up on all my inside work today.
