Finally watched Downton Abbey - A New Era.

The wife and I actually really liked the Downton Abbey series. This was a movie they tacked on to the end. Start with Season 1 if you are new to Downton Abbey.

After that, I started the Prime documentary regarding Pink Floyd's album, Dark Side of the Moon. The wife went to bed for that show, but I enjoyed it. That album is amazing. (And, it can be synced to the Wizard of Oz.)

One of the best selling albums ever. One of my favorites too
Not sure I'll watch it live, but at some point today the UT vs Ga football game. Playing for number 1.

Watched, "Swiss Family Robinson" with little granddaughter and she loved it. Great movie.
For many years, even as an adult, this was my absolute favorite movie. A woman with her own large family took my siblings and I, along with her own children to see it in Pierre after my mother died. I was young, but the survival piece was already in me way back then.

I really liked the original series, and watch it about once a year. I know it is not for everyone, but I like learning about families of power and the power structures of people in the world. Throw in some music and dancing and drama, and it is good.

I loved the book and the movie... I reckon I could do pretty well living on an island, building my own home and boat for sailing and fishing! Harvest coconuts and whatever else was edible... hunt birds and other critters, including crabs and lobster, lol. I look at that 'CASTAWAY' flick and think: "That guy was an IDIOT to ever leave the island!" I would've lived 'The Life of Riley' on that island, sailing & fishing all the time and dining on seafood and whatever meat I could rustle up with a 'stick bow!' Build crab & lobster traps and weight 'em down with stones or something, lol... but going back to the Swiss Family Robinson, that was a cool story! I loved the home they built in the tree(s), that was friggin' awesome!

Last night, I watched 'TOMBSTONE' and 'OPEN RANGE' back-to-back, I've seen both movies many times but I always catch some new detail when I see 'em again! Great movies for the 65" curved screen! Dunno if I'll watch TV tonight, I may just read a good Western, lol. After I make a decent dinner and get things prepped for roasting the turkey manana! In honor of Fraudulent Election Day! WOOHOO!!! 😒

Watching Pieces of Her, on Netflix.

Not sure I will make it through, though. I'm only on the second episode, and one of the main characters keeps doing really stupid things. I mean, hey, you are fleeing for you life, so why not tell the guy in the bar you just met where you are going. It makes it hard to sympathize with one of the main characters when they keep doing stupid things that are contrary to their own life-and-death interests...it's like watching people in a horror movie make bad choices over and over again.

It is probably what I worry most about my kids...if life ever gets crazy (e.g., if the S ever HTF), will they get the heightened awareness of the situation around them?...or will they continue to assume that because no one has tried to harm them yet, then no one will ever try to harm them, that bad guys are just characters in movies? I suppose I think in a real SHTF situation, they will be fine...they will get serious quickly. But, if they so something in normal society, like go to New York City on vacation next week, they will have their guard almost fully down, and not worry about crazy things like getting pushed in front of a train, or strangled while jogging, or whatever. So, I guess I worry more about them more in normal societal circumstances than I do in SHTF situations. Weird, huh? You can prep all you want, but mental fortitude and awareness are more than half of prepping, I think. The only question is, do you keep that fortitude and awareness "on" during normal life.

Maybe the show will get better a few episodes in. We'll see if I make it that far.

Here is the trailer:

SO, I see 'PLATOON' listed on my Roku Stick, and I go ahead and click the button... and as I watch the intro, I realize that I have made the PERFECT CHOICE for this Fraudulent Election Day! Those FILLED BODY BAGS being humped toward the plane? Those were DEMOCRATIC VOTERS being schlepped to the POLLS, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 😒

Damn, sometimes I SLAY myself, lol... I wonder if that 2020 "voter" who was born in 1823 voted AGAIN this time around? How old would that "voter" be now? Let's do the math: 77 years to 1900, plus 122 years to 2022, which makes... er... 199 YEARS, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Damn, the 'LONGEVITY' of that "voter!" Must be on some good vitamins!

Democratic vitamins, that is... they keep ya ALIVE a heckuva lot LONGER than normal folks, LOL. Perhaps, unlike Ponce de Leon, the Democrats actually FOUND the 'Fountain of Youth!' BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! In Florida, no less! Or maybe it was the Socialist Republik of Kalimexifornia! Who knows? Who cares? Why bother? Back to 'PLATOON!' ;)

I'm watching 'HARLEY DAVIDSON AND THE MARLBORO MAN'---I've seen it before but it has been a long time, so I don't remember the plot, lol. And the 'Hollywood Cheese Factor' is pretty high with this one, but meh, it's entertainment and it has some motorcycle action, so I'm stickin' with it before I make a big ol' turkey sandwich, lol. Funny thing, Mickey Rourke & Don Johnson look relatively young in this movie... I guess the decades have flown by, lol. Nice wheelie just now by Don Johnson's stunt double, but for the jump I would've preferred a 450cc dirt bike, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 😎

Since I'm in the PAR-TAY MODE, I've already decided: once this Harley flick is over, I'm gonna watch the classic Stanley Kubrick film 'FULL METAL JACKET' with R. Lee Ermey as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, lol. Haven't seen it in awhile, and it's on Tubi, same as this flick I'm now watching. Sometimes, I get in the mood to watch movies on the home theater I set up... it may only be a Samsung 6 Series 65" Curved Screen TV with soundbar & subwoofer, but it works for me! The TV sits high atop a wooden bookshelf that has been in my family for over half a century, and the elevated position of the TV makes it feel like an actual theater with the lights dimmed, lol.

Holy Cow!!! That was a pretty good lineup of movies last night:

'HARLEY DAVIDSON AND THE MARLBORO MAN' followed by 'FULL METAL JACKET!' o_O

I stayed up till after midnight, but it was worth it, entertainment-wise, lol. ;)

Stanley Kubrick (director of 'A CLOCKWORK ORANGE' and '2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY' and 'THE SHINING') did his usual masterful job of capturing the essence of Basic Training & AIT (or Advanced Infantry Training), though this story took place in the USMC. Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (R. Lee Ermey) is CLASSIC in this film, and the shots of D&C (or Drill & Ceremony) are SO GOOD once the Marines get in step and march correctly, lol. I suppose some viewers who never served in the Armed Forces won't get the attraction, but I really like this film, it reminds me of my own training down at Fort Benning, Georgia, 'Home of the Infantry!'

My Aarrrrrrgmy unit was supposedly the first of the "new regiment"---which means we had OSUT (or One Station Unit Training) and were then deployed together as a unit to Fort Lewis, WA. Since we were the first of the new regiment, our training was more demanding than what we saw later at Benning... we had some hard-@$$ Drill Instructors and cadre in our unit, and they DOGGED US from Day One, lol. Ol' Gunnery Sergeant Hartman was a piker compared to some of these DIs and cadre corporals, I tell ya... but I like R. Lee Ermey's portrayal of a USMC Gunny in this movie, he did a fantastic job, probably because he used to be a Marine DI, lol. 😒

Anyway, despite the 'Hollywood Cheese Factor' in the first flick, I recommend this lineup to anyone who likes these sort of films... the first flick actually had some cool motorcycle stunt riding in it, though the five f@gtards in the long black leather trenchcoats could've stayed in West Hollywood, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Damn. Oh, well, it's just a movie, not like it's a documentary or anything, lol. Made solely for entertainment purposes, while Don Johnson & Mickey Rourke did a pretty good job of acting too... not as good as R. Lee Ermey, but still alright, lol. Okay, I'm back to my rather late cuppa tea, I slept in till after 0800 this morning since I was up after midnight, AYE?

I enjoy watching Gunny in anything he was in

Been watching my dvd box set of "Northern Exposure". Just watched one of my favorite episodes... Where Maggie's boyfriend gets killed by a satellite falling from space. Hysterically funny!! 🤣

All her boyfriends die in freak accidents... Of course this one was over the top. Especially the funeral scene at the church with the modified coffin lid to accommodate the space junk that had to be buried with him.

A Boy Named Charlie Brown

WLWT-DT2 - 5.2 Sun, 11/20, 8:00 PM 2 hrs

1969, Family, Animated, Comedy, Children
A boy has never been one for optimism, but despite the taunts from the girls in his class, he heads to New York to participate in a national spelling bee, and he makes it to the finals, but he does not win the overall competition.

The 3rd season of the Orville.

It's similar to Star Trek the Next Generation with a bit of a funny twist. I'm a SciFi nut, so I like it.
Sadly, I'm disappointed with season 3. It went from Fox to Hulu and clearly there's not the same rules for language. I'm not a prude and I use swear words myself. However, I really disdain using the Lords name in vain. There's a lot of JC (in anger) and *** damn, in this season. I think to the point that it distracts from the story, but I guess I'm just sensitive to it and it's completely unnecessary. IMHO, it's just another attempt from Hollywood to normaliize using the Lords name in vain.:(

It seems thus far that the episodes are all based on wokisms. 😡 When I watch mindless TV, I just want to escape into a story, not be annoyed by the leftist programming. Ack!!

The first 2 seasons were pretty good, but this 3rd season.......thus far about 7 episodes in, I would not recommend. I think they had something good here, but they ruined it.

ETA: I forgot about the drinking......lots of drinking on the 3rd season. Not just light "hey, let's have a drink" banter. It's "hey, lets get wasted". I think that's kinda strange for a supposed union ship that is cruising the universe. I mean, I like my occasional cocktail too, but geez......it's like they want everyone to think they are finding all the answers of the cosmos at the bottom of a bottle. If that's the case, why bother cruising around in a spaceship? Why not just stay home? :dunno:

I watched 'RUNAWAY TRAIN' the other night, I've seen it before but I like that movie, the landscape is so bleak and the train itself steals the show, even after it sustains front-end damage in a collision. The scenes of Jon Voight 'train surfing' at the end are also awesome, lol. Last night I watched "THE DUEL' with Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson, I think I've seen that one before as well, but it had been awhile so I went ahead and watched it, followed by part of Michael Bay's lonnnnng 'PEARL HARBOR' film. I'll watch the rest of that tonight, unless I feel like watching something else, lol. ;)

Angie_nrs, I quit watching modern programming YEARS AGO, it's ALL leftist BS propaganda now, and there are too many older programs worth watching on TV... I'd gladly take an episode of Star Trek, The Munsters, Hogan's Heroes, Sanford & Son, etc., over ANY modern TV show. Then there are all the good ol' movies, especially Westerns and action films which predated all the woketard BS (a nod to Spikedriver here, lol). Heck, even that dated reference to Democrats in that TRUE GRIT novel by Charles Portis was enough to make me set the book down unfinished. I have a low tolerance for leftist BS in any form, lol. 😒

Edit: Question for Spikedriver! What did you think of that 'RUNAWAY TRAIN' flick, is it realistic or is it BS? The switch work seemed realistic to me, I'm just curious what ya think about that film. I thought Jon Voight did a good job playing a scumbag convict in that movie, lol. He's been good in just about everything, including 'DELIVERANCE'---that's a classic "outdoor film." I never saw 'MIDNIGHT COWBOY' but I heard he played his part well, it just wasn't my kinda film, ya know? I saw enough of that seedy night life scene on Broadway in San Diego when I was a youngster and my friends and I were taking the bus to go ride our boards at 'Skateboard Paradise'---an 11-story parking garage at the 'Civic Center' downtown where skaters could ride all the way down, then take an elevator back to the top, lol.
