Well, for some reason my Samsung 6 Series 65" curved screen & supposedly "smart TV" did NOT save the other half of 'PEARL HARBOR' for me, so I wound up watching 'KICKBOXER: RETALIATION' with Jean-Claude Van Damme in the role of blind mentor (as well as film producer, lol), and I must say it was HIGHLY entertaining! I never caught this one before, as I was living in the Arizona boondocks when it came out in 2018, and I was probably too busy riding dirt bikes in the White Mountains (and especially on Rim Road 300) to even notice that the flick was out, lol.

GREAT friggin' movie, so funny in parts, like that whole fight scene played out to the tune of 'WIPEOUT!' I was laughing so hard my sides were about to split... and I only had a few beers and one little bong hit, lol. Dang, that goldurned movie was HILARIOUS! And the 400-lb. 'Mongut' dude was pretty gnarly, I wouldn't have tackled him without a 460 Weatherby Magnum Rifle, lol. Dude was like a rhino, hard to take down... if yer gonna scrap with him, ya better have some health & possibly some life insurance, AYE? Jeez, that guy was like a freakin' TRUCK, practically indestructible!

Anyway, I recommend this flick to anybody into the martial arts genre of films, it certainly was entertaining! No man alive could take the kind of punishment dished out in these films, but hey, it's ENTERTAINMENT!!! The film even had Mike Tyson as a scrappy boxer in a Thai jail, lol... I was surprised that he didn't bite off the hero's ear at some point in the flick, lol. "YOU WANT FRIES WITH THAT?" Good ol' Tyson, he sure was a scrappy SOB, I'd probably want a firearm for him too, though a 12-gauge shotgun with 00 Buck would probably handle the job, lol... with the 400-lb. dude, the 00 Buck would just p!$$ him off, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! A .50-cal Desert Eagle pistol might be a good idea as backup, lol. o_O

Alright, here's where I log out and make a small green side salad to go with the big ol' bowl of homemade turkey soup I'm having for dinner, lol. Yes, I'm still working on that soup, but I happen to like turkey soup, especially in this cold weather, so bring it on! My home is actually pretty warm with the heater CRANKED, but the weather is definitely CHILLY outside, lol. This is a good night to mack that soup, then crawl into bed and read the rest of THE SAVAGE PLAIN, by Carter Travis Young... a tale of woe involving bloodthirsty Comanches & other assorted troublemakers, lol. I started it earlier today, and it's not a bad tale, though there's some ugliness in it... ah, those HARDY PIONEERS!!! 😒

Y'ALL BE GOOD, I'M OFF TO DINNER AND THE WILD, WILD WEST!!! SOMEBODY HAS TO DO IT!!! 😬 🤔 😬

I really enjoyed Downton Abbey. I have a friend who refused to watch at first and was saying it sounded lame and then she watched it and loved it. Maggie Smith is just awesome. I still remember her as Hera in the original Clash of the Titans movie. She was also in Murder By Death (one of my favorite movies).

I'm currently watching Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. Haven't watched it since the early 1980s. I think they made 2 Ewok movies but I can't remember the name of the other one. Warwick Davis has a very colorful career and has been in some great franchises. Some not-so-great, but he's been in Star Wars, Willow, Harry Potter, and all sorts of stuff.

This was me; that is, I was that friend. I have different tastes in movies than my wife, but we try to watch movies/series the other likes, and so I gave Downton Abbey a shot when I was very sure it would be lame. It wasn't. It was great. We've watched them all.

American Dynasty

I've only watched part of one episode, "The Rockefellers," but so far, this is a great show. I find myself wishing my kids would watch it...so that they learn to think how these successful families thought. John D. Rockefeller was not rich as a youth. But, he had basic skills (accounting and business sense), a strong work ethic, and a willingness to take risks. I was always a bit risk averse. It is too late for me to go out and make it big, but not for my kids. But, they need the right mindset to make it big (or, at least bigger than I've done). The show is running on FoxBusiness right now.

I watched a "Stone Cold" Steve Austin flick called 'RECOIL' with Danny Trejo as the bad guy, then I watched a surf film called 'HIT & RUN' with some old school riders, followed by a climbing film titled 'WESTERN GOLD' about bouldering (as it is known). All three shows were highly entertaining, now I've eaten a bad@$$ roast beef dinner and I'm heading for my rack, lol... an excellent Sunday overall, I really enjoyed my day!

Bouldering involves shorter routes on rocks up to 30' or 35' high, it is a good way to hone skills and prep for longer climbs, yeah? You can push your limits a little farther while bouldering, as the unroped fall is usually somewhere between 10' to 20', with the largest "boulder problems" going a bit higher. With bouldering, it is NOT the height that matters, it is the difficulty of the route... some boulder problems are so intense, it's difficult to get off the ground, lol. Still fun though! ;)

I missed this one as a kid, not a bad little sci-fi/nazi killer flick, check out the one guy's custom Thompson!

Watching some of the small college championship games for football. Several games this week, most have been great games.

He takes his shirt off AND rolls his own cigarettes. I just wonder how he keeps his hair looking so perfect on that cattle drive.
Anyway....fun show. Husband and I ordered all of them on DVD as a gift to ourselves this Christmas. The plots are......Don't go into town...something is always going to happen. Just get those beeves to Denver.

I discovered that you tube has lots of old football games. I listen to them for company when I'm doing chores, no commercials and I get to hear the old favorites like Pat Summerall, John Madden, Dick Enberg, Merlin Olson, etc.
There's also a lot of stuff that's better than anything on tv. I like Vice Grip Garage, Watch Wes Work, Diesel Creek, and cool motorcycle content like As the Magpie Flies and Itchy Boots. Noraly rode a motorcycle from the southern tip of South America to the Artic Circle in Alaska, and share it all with excellent camera work and decent audio. Just amazing.
I liked the earlier seasons of Downton Abbey but lost interest later on when it just seems to be getting a little forced, what with the constant hardships for Bates and the whole chauffeur-marries-in thing.

Tom and Jerry, at 9 am Bugs Bunny starts.
You must have DVDs most of that stuff got banned by the libfagwhineantigun crowd.

When I have time which is not much lately I am watching another Korean tv show. "Reply 1988" and I am really enjoying it. Its about these 5 families on this one lower middle class street starting in 1988 and the friendships between them and their kids. It's probably sort of realistic and also very funny at times.

Still surprised how many people like Downton Abbey.....there is just not one character in the show I liked. I like Maggie Smith as an actress also ( Harry Potter) but most of the people in that show I just really dislike. Especially Bates. I would not ever have married that guy in a billion years and if he was the last guy on the planet.....

Reacher is on Amazon Prime

Is that the first season? I really enjoyed that. At least you had a Reacher who was more in character with the book.

I am waiting for my favorite version of A Christmas Carol. It is the one where Alistair Sim plays Ebeneezer Scrooge. I think that is the first one I saw as a child, and it has always been my favorite. For those old TV fans you will see a very young Patrick McNee (John Steed from the old British Avengers series) as the young Jacob Marley.

Right now we're watching The Sound of Music. It has been many decades since I saw this. It's a lot of fun seeing (after having mostly forgotten) scenes in the movie again. The wife and I are on a short break at the moment - waiting for the DVR to spool more of the show so we can fast forward through the commercials. We had like 45 minutes spooled when we started it, but that got exhausted right after the "So long, farewell" song at the party. We'll get back to it after we've spooled up another 30 minutes or so. But now ... it's brownie time! Still have some left from last night.
