One mans junk is another (wo)mans treasure. . . you just never know because we do tend to have a different set of eyes.Don't know whats for dinner tonight. Haven't seen the wife all day. I think she's down at the old barn site digging through a bunch of old junk.
Dogs and humans are good hunting pardners. When I went to go weed my strawberries this evening. I walked into the garden with a bunny. Dogs went crazy and so did he. Short story even shorter, bunny is dead and that is what I will be having for dinner come the next couple days. Once processed, I am soaking him in some milk.
She finally showed up a little ago with a load of old bottles and rocks. She's starting to put out a bunch of her "treasures" in the front yard. This includes old milk cans, a cream separator, farm tools and rocks. Many of the rocks came from my mine, some were chipped on by Indians, petrified logs, fossils, etc. Its mostly what I consider junk, but I guess it does dress up the front of the house. We have an old ghost town on the north side of the ranch. She goes out there sometimes and digs through the old dump and buildings. She's always dragging something home. One mans junk is another (wo)mans treasure. . . you just never know because we do tend to have a different set of eyes.
She is making your house a home. . . I know you guys may not "get it", but can appreciate when all is said and done. At least my hunny can see the benefits when it does happen now.She finally showed up a little ago with a load of old bottles and rocks. I once helped set an 800 ton oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. It would have been very bad it it had flipped over and landed on someone. So we used something called a holdback tugger. I use the same thing (although somewhat smaller) when I load a tractor or something on my trailer. Attach a come along or even a rope and to a pully on the opposite side of the direction it is most likely to flip and maintain tension while ascending or decending. After play Nana and Pop's today hunny thought we would stop by the rent property on the way home to do some mowing since we had the mower in the back of the truck. At son's house I saw him actually flip the mower backing it off the truck. Low tire is what he tells me. . . I had to make sure that didn't happen once again and will always be on stand by now. In the past when I was at work he flipped it on it side. I am fearful that one day it will land on top of him. Had he not bailed off earlier today it would have totally flipped ON TOP OF HIM. I ended up having to flip it back with gas leaking onto my shoe. So after feeding we had a quick dinner of defrosted shrimp boiled in "Slap Your Mama" shrimp boil along with a pouch of corn that I just poked some holes in to boil. Just one of those days. I have had my shower and done for the day. . . 3 am is only a few hours away.
