I am truly humbled today. There is an elderly lady in her 80's that shares a back fence line with us. She has lived on this road all her life. Widowed and on Social Security she worked in the textile mills her whole life. She grew up on this road and her father was a coal miner. We have always tried to look out for her. Hubby has done a few odd jobs to help her out in the past and we check on her regularly as her family lives away. So hubby is on the back property line weed eating. He comes in the house carrying something and lays 2 gallon ziploc bags of dried pinto beans in my lap. This lady who probably lives on $600.00 a month, unaware that I have food enough to feed her for years, is sending over food to us over the back fence. I am touched. In a time when the world is turned upside down just a simple act of kindness can bring so many things into perspective.

Last of the greatest generation. Thanks for sharing. We have neighbors in their 90's. They've been married for 67 years. I check on them a couple of times a week. They can still run circle around many of today's 20 somethings. Their garden always looks like it's for giants. Love them, and tell them so frequently.

Now the government has decided that one of my prescriptions is a controlled substance, why I don't know. So now the doctor's office can no longer call in a prescription. I have to drive clear across town, go into the doctor's office (which I consider one of the most hazardous places you can be right now) and pick up the prescription, take it to the pharmacy, and then come back to the pharmacy when it is filled. All while we are under a shelter-at-home order not to do any unnecessary travel. We really are living in a bad episode of The Twilight Zone.

What kind of prescription was this?

15 days ago I bought something at Sears online. It was supposed to arrive today. When it didn't show up, I called. They said they don't have it in stock. Website said in stock 15 days ago, or I wouldn't have wasted my time. Now they say they don't know when they will have one to ship to me. I'm guessing it will come from China, in about 6 months, MAYBE, probably not. So I cancelled the order. Another hour of my time wasted, on top of the 15 days, having to call three different places just to cancel the order. I used to like Sears, but they have done so many crazy things, like mail me a box with a chop saw only. No Styrofoam around it, no paper work, just the saw floating around in the box. Holes punched out of the box, bent handle. One time the sent me a 1 1/8 wrench in a 48"x6x6 box..... a wrench..four foot box..

I officially hate you now Sears! You are like a third world country. F YOU!
Designer shoe warehouse did this to me one time. At least when I called them they finally sent my my order.

I gave up on Sears when they did away with their catalog.

I ordered some 9 mm bullets on 3/20. They were listed as in stock. Several days later a shipping label was created. To date, they have not been shipped. I originally got irritated but then I figured out what may have happen. Their inventory is not up dated until a order is confirmed and paid. During that time lag, they probable over sold their supply. Now I could get mad and cancel but that would just move me to the back of somebody else's shipping list. Everybody I am dealing with online, is experiencing very long delays in shipping. Even non-gun related companies are having a difficult time keeping up with shipments. This has been a good learning experience. Things happening now, have not been typically discussed in forums or my what if fiction books. Good learning experience I really hope I live through.

Thank you, this is the first I have heard of it.
Good morning Celeree, if you want to know more on MMS or Chlorine Dioxide, Google Jim Humble. He is a missionary who used this to clean his drinking water in Africa and found out it would get people clean from Malaria and Yellow Fever within hours instead of weeks...He has a PDF book available also.

I found a hell of a deal on some .40's online. They were pre-Kung Flu prices so I ordered on the 2nd and they are out for delivery today! I couldn't believe it. With the price being what they were, I really thought they'd get delayed or canceled.
I think your theory on the delay between order receipt and order being picked, is dpot on. It's creating a huge challenge for these businesses. The volume is so high, they are selling out online before they know it.

Last night I went into work 5 minutes before the store closed to see a few coworkers and customers wearing face mask, maybe a 1/3. Other than me and the MIC and maybe a couple others, we are by our selves until about 10-11 when a few others trickle in and then the next people at mid night. Think I was the only one in the overnight shifts that actually wore a mask. My boss texted me a couple days ago that said she put some mask back for me, in a file only I use but I guess another worker saw because they were not there last night when I went in. I hoping to add another but whatever. Still getting wiped out on toilet paper and paper towels along with canned goods, freezer items, milk, butter and eggs. Only getting a 'selection' of meat products but the deli market as in prepackaged meats and cheeses look good. Our fresh area still has yet to get a truck in prepackaged and only fet a very limited number of deli fresh cut meat and cheeses. Those are sliced into a case now to limit interactions and not ordered.

This morning I came home to a greeting from a couple dogs and a couple of my goats. Doing some chores inside while listening to the morning news and then outside when daylight came to feed and start hoeing the garden. Seeds are poping up like crazy and apparently the rains that came at midnight thirty wasnt as bad as expected with hails. Everything still looked good and after I dumped the feed troughs it only lookied like we got a half inch rain since I feed yesterday at 5. I did eventually take a couple hours nap this afternoon. . . hunny said I needed one.

I was sitting on the back porch watching the sun go down. . . all the pretty baby blues and pinks. Had I not gone into work last night or turned on the news or internet today, I would never know the world was amiss.

Storms came through last 2 days with lots of wind and a few sprinkles. Only problem is that the temperatures are dropping with a freeze warning tonight. Most of the exposed crops are cool weather crops so hoping they will survive if not I will just replant. Husband continues to work on Chicken coop extension. Other than that everything is pretty quiet today. We have somewhat gotten into a routine I guess with this quarantine and settled in for the long haul. Since we are both retired and higher risk it is just smart even if they lift it to stay put. Stay safe

Sorry Kate, that is getting too personal.
Sorry - I understand. I wasn't trying to pry, just confused why they would suddenly decide something is a controlled substance. I was mostly wondering if it might have anything to do with the current situation because I heard a story (don't know if it's true) that someone with lupus who had a hydroxychloroquine prescription was appparently denied access to her medications, supposedly because the drugs are being retasked to people with COVID-19.

I've started working on my artistic side from being housebound. I like photography and writing (I had my first book published), and I've had some of my pictures mounted on canvas. Below is a photo that I took of a sunset at Lake Tahoe during a recent trip to visit relatives in California:

It was beautiful in California, as everything looked like a postcard. Below is another photo of same sunset from a different perspective:

And above is the Golden Gate Bridge.

I plan on trying to sell some of my canvas-mounted photos at an outdoor art show once the pandemic eases up enough to allow people to gather again.

thanks what is scary is I have been around him 3 days ago,,,,,now I am sweating bullets until his test comes back
I'm sorry you're in the situation, but remember:
1) The vast majority of the people with this thing recover from it.
2) Take vitamins, drink lots of fluids, and engage in moderate exercise.
3) Understand that constant worry and anxiety does beat up your immune system, so try to avoid worrying about things that are already a done deal.
4) Try to rest as much as you can
5) Abstain from excessive alcohol, any tobacco, and recreational drugs (if that's your thing).

If you follow these suggestions, you will stack the odds much better in your favor.

Good luck.

P.S. I forgot to mention that if you do come down with it, it's very important to walk frequently when you're sick . . . even if you don't want to and you're running a high fever. Walking short distances frequently actually helps you recover, as walking and movement keeps fluid from building up in your lungs. The added circulation from walking helps with inflammation, and can help prevent heart failure.

#5 is not an issue I don't use any of them,,,,I nap when needed and I drink plenty of my favorite drink,,,sweat tea that leaves worry,,,,,,,,,well I can't do nothing about this all I can do is ride it out

I believe there is a hotline here in Arkansas I need to look it up and call to see if I do need to be concerned about this situation

Ok. Private message me if I can provide moral support in any way.

Try not to worry, as it doesn't help the situation.
