It's an iced mocha kinda morning. Basil in the dehydrator, doctoring sick chickens, and the temperature is HOT degrees. Good morning family. *sips iced coffee.

They work together well. It feels great to be working with the horses again.

I'm gonna be the crazy chicken lady for a few posts.
The chicks are a month old and haven't been out of the coop.
I opened the door today, with camera ready.

Calli (mom) was excited, but had to tell the world that SHE WILL KILL YOU.. lol
Have you ever seen a chicken look more like an eagle in the face?

She was soooo ready to come out, though.

Both my splash babies are looking like pullets, which is nice.
The last mess of babies I had, all three splashes were boys.
They are having so much fun outside today.

These two bantam girls (mille fleur d'uccle and a self blue old englsh) were last minute feed store takes. They had about 10 bantam chicks left that were getting "older" and these two looked like pullets so I picked them up. They are best buds and wild as march hares. They rarely venture out of the coop but are also enjoying the amazing weather outside today.

Should I get a bantam roo? I'm not convinced.

Our weather has been beautiful the last couple of days.
It was an equestrian kind of afternoon today.

This is how you mount bareback when you're in your 60's! LOL
Y'all don't be jealous of his attire ......

Badger can't be ridden right now but he enjoys ANY attention.
Mr TG is cleaning his hooves and Badger is enjoying it, um, WAY too much.
He's just an attention whore.
LOL

@Pearl and @Patchouli

The fact is, it is bright and hot in Texas. You want to wear boots around horses, but you put on your lightest pair of shorts, a T-shirt, your hat and sunglasses and you do your thing. The horses don't care!

Mr TC had NO idea anyone else would see his attire , and truth be told, I've worn less... with boots.... on the privacy of our own property.

We are appropriately attired in public. :p
