For some people, it is a matter of time before they dig a hole for themselves that they can't get out of. I never knew about his vacation before now. His user name fit him. I wonder if the rules or guidelines have tightened since the last big one that most of us are aware of.

I did run it through my mind if I wanted to continue here when I saw some of those rants, and the thumbs up they received from a few other members who are still here. Luckily, a very small group of members. But I decided to stay because those posts were taken down, and 99% of the members here are not like that.

It is true, that 99% of the members are not like that. If that were to be allowed, it could certainly spiral downward. There is another forum where people say crazy things to one another, and yet, it seems to have been and still is the largest and most active forum about Survivalists out there. I have posted there a few times and one member in particular likes to go after people when he disagrees with them. His actions have kept me away from it.

Don't think it was a one time incident. I saw more than one. I commented to him on the inappropriateness in a followup post to one of the rants. He knew what he was doing, and seemed proud of it. I never reported him to the mods, that's not my place, and I've never reported anybody on any forum. But obviously the mods knew, because his posts disappeared. @Bacpacker - you didn't let him down, he let himself down. I agree with whatever action was taken to protect the forum. Unfortunate, but necessary.

I don't know if they really do know. Call a bully out, and sometimes it makes them go off even more. We have had that experience here!

Apparently I missed a negative event. Sorry you guys wents through that. I lost a lot of "friends" on a discord server last year because people didn't agree with me. I told them I respected that they didn't agree with me and I wouldn't bring it up again even though they kept at it. They all still left. I've learned to be a little less political as a result.

Wingnut was my buddy too, I liked his rants, but you just can't go off like that about certain "protected classes" anymore, Right or wrong you're liable to have a hundred woketards in here raising hell and trying to get the forum taken down or just outright hacking the place.
I don't like him getting banned, I hate it to death, but I agree with it, no matter how sour a taste it leaves in my mouth, Havisu and the other Admin did what they had to.

Dang! I learn something new every day. I have occasionally put that @ sign in front of posters handles. I though it was just so others could click on it and see who the person you are referring to is. I didn't realize it notified that person as well. I have also used it to indicate that I was indeed referring to a person - useful for the newbies reading a post but not being familiar with members handles. Like if I mention @Peanut (who I just found out will be pinged by what I just did!) these newbies will know that I am referring to a person, not a legume.

I’m here. I’m gearing up for knee replacement surgery in October 2. I’ve had doctor’s and other appointments. Also we are gearing up for a very important dog adoption event. Woofstock 2023 - Oklahoma Animal Alliance
Also, had an organizer come help me get my craft room together.
Just been busy with life.

I'm sorry too that Wingnut is gone. I enjoy all your comments, even though I may not agree with everyone. We live in different worlds, and different experiences carve us into who we are. I ignore certain comments that I feel are 'borderline' and stay away from political stuff ( though on occasion I do give in) Overall, I have been made feel very welcome, especially by a few you messaged me directly to welcome me.
Earlier in the conversation, someone mentioned a number of quick answers to threads; I'm on here early because of the time zone, and like to pop into the 'quick' threads, such as 'what are you doing today' and the word game. I see it as like popping a head round the door at neighbours- a quick hello, to see everyone's all right. If it's an important thread, I would give thought to my response, and type it in later, or the next morning. I like this forum because everyone does check on each other, there is a great mix of topics, and if, like me, you don't know a lot about the heavy stuff, there is still an opportunity to contribute.
