week 24 day 2

my family really loved my food yesterday, and it was easy to make: sheet pan with chicken breast chunks, sweet potato chunks, a sliced onion and a can of chickpeas. Plain rice, peanut sauce ( the sauce on the side, peanut butter, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, a little rice vinegar, garlic) .

Today I am making goat curry for tomorrow since I won't have much time to cook.
For today I am making something vegetarian, haven't decided what. Either Phad Thai, or collard green stew and rice

week 24 day 3

was bad last night and had bourbon and cookies....

today goat curry ( already made) and I am going to try pasta with it instead of rice, to see if that goes. Plus rice

then I am going to bake gingerbread cookies for the market ( and eat a few too)

ok...back to being more serious..its winter so gotta put in more effort on all levels.

started back lifting dumbbell again and doing some basic stuff....forward we got.

well i been trying new things out to see what helps...i decided i wanted to try some type of a deeper rotation on my knee/bad leg....so friday morning i tried a stationary bicycle out . first few rotations were tough as knee closed up tighter than usual but i pushed through it and after a few turns it got easier....i could feel it pulling from foot up through my leg into hip and to base of my spine.

i didnt want to push it and cause me to cripple and hobble myself so i only done a bit over a mile. i got off it and after a couple of steps i could tell i was walking better...it helped me to walk better with far less of a limp all day long.

i think i will do that 3 times a week and see how it goes from there.

Updates!!

week 24 day 5 6 and 7

Friday son made stir fry with ground beef, ramen noodles and frozen stir fy vegetables, plus spicy sauce

yesterday he made pizza

today I am making lamb burgers, salad from the market and oven potatoes ,plus Austrian dumpling soup
Haven't cooked a proper meal in days so today I will

starting up sticking to the diet today again. I have just been too busy to worry about it this week. Otto hasn't been walked properly either
Glad the market is over and the weather defrosted at least a little , still cold but not freezing

that was my update...mostly...still a fat boy...lol....nice hike today in 35f temp in shorts !
we saw some people at the market with shorts and here I am sitting there in 15 layers of clothes, toe warmers in my winter boots with fur, AND a blanket wrapped around me....LOL
I do love the long leather coat with fur I brought back from Germany that used to belong to my mom, but my legs got cold and my feet too after the toe warmers stopped working

Well, I have not been drinking beer except for one or two every couple or three days! Then I hung out in Hubby's shop tonight and drank 4!! Oh well, not drinking like it's summer!! I do want to maintain wearing smaller jeans, so I need to hop back up on the wagon,!!
We both had 2 shots of wild turkey yesterday when we got home to warm up. Had to drink water after, that stuff is so strong

it hit 52f today....in was bright and sunny along trail and was pretty warm..i actually was sweating...felt warm ! only seen one squirrel...no deer!

week 25 day 1

I am afraid to step on a scale....
have not been sticking to the diet or the hours
I would hate to end up where I started last year, when I started this.....
I think being stressed about stuff doesn't help

today breaded pork chops, sweet potatoes and green bean casserole, plus leftover soup without dumpling from yesterday. The guys just fished out the dumplings and left the rest of the soup behind, so I will have that today

So I think I am going to write down EVERYTHING I eat and drink that has calories
today I did ok, made the lunch I said I was going to make, had coffee for breakfast
evening: 1 apple, small piece of cheddar, slice of toast with peanut butter and nutella
that's it for today

well i rode bike early this morning and stretched out that bad leg...first few rotations suck and closed bad knee up pretty tight for awhile...doesnt take much...but it sure seems to help me walk better. i was going to do it M-W-F each week...i might try it every morning...not sure...dont want to cripple myself ya know.

later in day it got real sun shiny so i hiked a couple miles and sweated for real...!!

That's a good idea....scared straight......!! Seriously though, if you have to stop and write it down, you might not put it in your mouth! My brother had a friend who lost 80 lbs just by keeping a notebook! She didn't write it down at the end of the day, her rule was that if she was going to eat it, she had to write it down with the amount of calories immediately!! She said it really made her think about everything she put in her body, and she never felt hungry or deprived. She lost the 80 lbs in 11 months, kept it off and last I heard she started walking daily and is off her blood pressure meds!!

writing it down helps mostly with eating late. I usually do fine during the day. I don't keep track of calories that is way too much of a hassle. I just limit myself to one plate of lunch . Like I already said, just cutting out extra bread and alcohol will probably make me lose again.
I am done baking now till Christmas/Yule, will bake some cookies and a cake for that

One problem is having time to cook something decent on days like today. We have to take care of animals, then I need to go shopping, then stuff needs to be put away, then I have maybe an hour till the animals have to be taken care of again. What can I cook in a half hour total ( prep time and cooking) that is not hot dogs or frozen meal in the microwave?
You look up recipes for fast meals and you either get seafood which I don't like much, and son doesn't eat at all except sushi, or you get some sort of salad, which LOL, it takes me an hour just to wash and clean the salad and veggies that go in it!

week 25 day 2

full list of food
1 piece of multigrain toast with fried egg and a slice of cheese

baked rigatoni with spicy sausage , tomato sauce and cheese
cream of broccoli soup ( I make it, does not have a ton of cream in it)
strawberry popcycle

so, I think pasta is the fastest meal

Knee didnt want to work right today on bike...shows me 3 times a week is probably answer for all tight rotation on the knee.

did get my hike in and it was pretty nice...only seen 2 squirrels.

week 25 day 3

did weight myself this morning, 14 lbs to go. That's not too terrible I suppose. It's been about a year since I started this, and I am down 16 lbs from last year overall. And with not too much effort or any sort of restrictive diet.

today I am baking a chicken with Indian spices, plus rice pilaf, red lentil soup , mango salad, cucumber salad.
just had a little bit of leftover cream of broccoli soup from yesterday

evening will be fruit and a piece of cheese, that works most of the time

After Thanksgiving, I began to creep upwards to nearly 214 pounds. Since the scale is my first chore of the day, I'm acutely aware of my weight, and will not allow myself to go back to 265 pounds. I had a few nights of canned soup after adding some fresh veggies (tastes like a homemade soup when you add some of your own meat or veggies), I'm now back down to 210.6, for 3 days in a row.

Week 25 day 5

yesterday afternoon I had half a tuna sandwich, a pear, some ice cream and a shot of bourbon. But early, so at least I stuck to my timing

today Shepherds pie and some soup , probably rice soup today

I would love to bake cookies, but will wait until next week sometime, want to at least not eat anything I baked for a week or so
