Ducks are adorable, but they stink up the brooder something fierce! They poop very nasty watery poop and it's pretty horrid. So....I have 8 lovely gosslings in the brooders in the dining room. I betcha they last a week in here and they'll be sent to the milkhouse. Anything with webbed feet is adorable, but stinky

That's why I don't have ducks😉😀

Good morning everyone.
Off to tackle what I pray is the last day of mowing. Tractor tried to overheat yesterday so had to stop “early”.
Hubby was kind enough to clean all the filters on the tractor last night before he left for work. He tries so hard to make my life easier. I’m so blessed to have him.
Can’t believe how dry things are already. I thought I was a few days early on this field but it was “fake news” especially with 90’s coming in a few days.
Tomorrow I hope to rest and make soap. Maybe even get more flower seeds planted.
Hope y’all have a good day!

Bugs! Bugs everywhere! I noticed a few this weekend, black bugs 3/4" long. There were only a few then, last night and tonight they are in the 100's. My porch is about 400sqft, about 2 bugs per square foot means there are around 800 of them.

I've seen these bugs in past years, around memorial day. And just a few of them if I leave the porch light on. This is biblical!

Also, the second pic is of a solid black "wooly worm". I saw it a couple of days ago too. Wooly Worms are part of Appalachia folklore, they predict the severity of the coming winter. The more black in color means a very cold winter. I usually see 3 or 4 in the fall. I've never seen one in the spring!

The ones I saw last fall were solid black and we had the coldest winter in many years.

Might turn a hen or two loose out there! I agree - weird to see a wooly worm in April.
