Awe it’s ok. Nature of the beast.
Always makes me “chuckle” :sarcasm: when people have a 9-5 and talk about how awful we ranchers and farmers are..... yet they wear, use and eat what we spend 365 days a year working on, growing and keeping healthy.
Ok rant over. Had a run in with an ungrateful animal activist today wearing makeup (animal byproducts, driving a car, animal byproducts, carrying produce....)

Yeah, I've spent years doing outside labor in landscaping and industry to where I just despise being wet. It can be hot or cold, doesn't matter, I just hate working when I'm wet. Hell, I don't even like riding the motorcycle when I'm wet anymore. I'd make a poor excuse for a farmer. LOL

You are very right. Sometimes I get frustrated. I was told I rape cattle today because we are an Artificial insemination only Ranch. That was just the tip of it.
The comfort and health of every animal on this property and even those that aren’t are our number one priority.
Thank you for the pep talk. Sometimes it gets to be too much. Especially days where we’re out trudging around making sure every animal is safe, fed and happy only to be told we’re evil people who rape animals. Grrrrrrr

Tacos were great!

We also had some hard ciders

I sent some of the leftovers with her for my adopted Dad.

We set up my son's tablet and assembled his potty chair.

Hello everyone and hope you all had a good day and @Double R try and ignore the idiots but it can indeed be hard. I just imagine they are bullfrogs blowing up in front of me and it keeps a smile on my face no matter what. Did I tell you that is a valuable skill I learnt whilst working in retail over the Christmas season.

We started off the morning with myself harvesting lavender and bringing it inside to dry and we also picked a huge bowl of cherry tomatoes from the gardens. A builder friend of ours gave us some shade cloth a while ago so we decided to put it up on the front veranda to block the sun heating the front of the house. It seems to have cooled the house down considerably so we will see how much it cools the home on a full sunny day.

This afternoon we did half of our 6 weekly grocery shop at Aldi but noticed that half of the shelves were empty due to the Christmas New Year break so it looks like we will have to get the rest at the other supermarket. We got all excited because we found tinned smoky chicken in Aldi after the supermarket we shop at also deleted the line, don't you hate that when you find something nice and they stop selling it ?. The two big supermarkets are now starting to cut down on the range of stock they had so now we have a smaller selection to choose from grrr. Once we got home we dated everything and put it in the cupboards newest to back and it is good to see the pantries replenished again.

DH has just finished watering all the gardens front and back with the drip irrigation system and at the moment finally we have cloud cover and a gloriously cool breeze blowing through the house .
