This is probably the last post about my mini garden. The tomato plants seem to be on their way out. The heat is just too much for them. I did get a LOT of tomato's though, so many that I had to give some to my neighbor (about 8). The peppers are still going well & producing a lot. The mini peppers, there's a lot there but I don't know what I will do with them. They say small & hot on the tag but hot is a huge understatement. I normally have no problem eating hot peppers but these are something else. I tried just biting one of them & it was a huge mistake. I was on fire for a good 10 minutes. My wife just touched one with her tongue (I talked her into it), I got cussed out. Oh well.

Got my first picking green beans last night. They will be served with the smoked ribeye tonight. Peppers are finally starting to form on the buds. One plant has peppers dangling already. I planted bell peppers that I started from a new packet of seeds. This pepper is not a bell. It looks like a sweet banana or a Hungarian.

Went out to collect any Blackberries that were still there, got a "Baker's Dozen" and saw about 20+ more red ones growing...!!!

Went back out to get photos and the rain decided to come on down again so only got these :

90 day corn? What variety?
its a cultivar i am breeding up..its sugar enhanced and can be in as early as 74 days.

i might plant another small patch of it just to test it more and get more seed.

but one of my favorite corns and its a hybrid is silver king...its 80 days....it does better than silver queen...and in my experience stands up to wind better too.

more corn popping the ground open....first real test of larger planting of this corn...looking pretty good so far...taking notes on it.

Do you have any shade cloth?

I use shade cloth for my south facing porch, depending on what i'm trying to grow there. It's rated/labeled by the amount of uv sun it blocks, 30%, 40% etc. I use a 50% blocker, keeps my porch a lot cooler too.

thought yall might find this interesting...i have a 4.5 foot tall dunstan chestnut i planted last year...it bloomed last week with about 6 blooms on it.

I lamented elsewhere about restarting my garlic production.

I purchased a starter collection of bulbs but went on to find garlic seeds @ 3000 seeds/ $9. Assuming a 10% germination rate that is 300 varieties to see if any are viable on The Ridge.

Fun experiment. May take 2 years.

Got a link, that sounds like something I would try.

I've had sun protection the whole time. It's probably a combination of things. Bright sun every day, 100 degrees every day, poor water quality & so on. At least I did get a good crop of tomatos this year. I've got a huge crop of jalapeno's this year but the darned things are so hot that I can't eat them.
