So I'm gonna do double wammies for a couple weeks if y'all can forgive me. I love this time of year, and I love Thanksgiving as well so don't want to run over it to get to Christmas.

I'm right with you Lady L. I hate to see Thanksgiving ignored. Heaven knows even with the world as upside down as it is we have a million things for which we should be thankful. We can take at least one day to reflect, and thank God for all of His Blessings.

That Christmas tree somewhat resembles the trees we had growing up. We had the large lights and bubble lights as well, but that silver stringy stuff that I think we called icicles was all over our trees. And an angel at the top!
We always had that too. We also had the bigger bulbed lights but not bubble lights. Later, we were soooo cool when we got twinkle lights - the ones that one at a time would blink on and off instead of how they have the flashing ones now & the whole string flashes on and off. The tinsel "icicles" looked so pretty when it twinkled.

I lived in the bush and the only Christmas tree worth having was even further back in the bush and usually on top of a fourty foot tree. So to get that tree, I snow shoed a mile or two, chopped down the tree and removed the top. I than tied a rope to my over sized but perfect tree and drug it home wearing those over sized adult snow shoes. After that, some one might put it up and drape some tinsel on it if we had some from previous years.
Tinsel! Thank you! I wonder how it got that name?
