Twilight Zone, LOLConspiracy theorist say Internet will go out at 3 p.m, tomorrow. Don't know which time zone. Lol
All of Snapchatdom is freaking out about it.Well, my face is red. Some of the sites are going down today. It must be 3 p.m. somewhere.
Snap Chat is one. I don't use it
We've got ducks as well as chickens. We raised the ducks with the chickens and now they think they're chickens. The drake even tries humping the hens. I haven't done anything different for the ducks than I do for the chickens. The ducks go back to the coop each night with the chickens. They don't roost or lay eggs in the nest boxes, but other than that they aren't much different than raising chickens in my experience.I have raised chickens and have been tempted to get ducks as well. I visited a friend who had them and they actually seem a bit messier believe it or not. The need a water source not just to drink but to dunk their heads in as well. At least this is what I have heard over and over. They do produce just as many if not more eggs but the seem to need more maintenance.
We have a few ducks now and the wife just ordered more. Right now we have fawn and white runners. Funny looking critters. The stand upright like bowling pins. They started laying eggs a few weeks ago. The wife ordered more ducks as well as meat chickens and some replacments for her older hens for June delivery. Like I said in another post, we don't treat the ducks any different than the chickens.I've never kept chickens, but I've been tempted by ducks.
Ducks seem healthier than chickens, and more adaptable. I've eaten duck eggs before, and I like them better than chicken eggs.
Has anyone here kept ducks for eggs? What does this entail?
Muscovy ducks are all over the place in Florida. In restaurants, they call Muscovy duck 'Barbary duck', and is delicious if it's cooked right by a skilled chef.
From what I hear drakes do not discriminate. They are Equal Opportunity humpers. LOLWe raised the ducks with the chickens and now they think they're chickens. The drake even tries humping the hens. I haven't done anything different for the ducks than I do for the chickens.

I tried raising two ducks in with about 8 chickens and they would peck at the ducks constantly. They were the same age too. I ended up having to separate them. The ducks were fine but I’m guessing the chickens were just prejudice. We've got ducks as well as chickens. We raised the ducks with the chickens and now they think they're chickens. A drake would try to hump me once . . . and only once. From what I hear drakes do not discriminate. They are Equal Opportunity humpers. LOL
I've heard things like this . . . that chickens have a pecking order, and ducks try to socialize and bond with everybody.I tried raising two ducks in with about 8 chickens and they would peck at the ducks constantly. Food ideas? I suppose we'll need to eat during a disaster. What is with these threads being hijacked and completely changing topic.

One thing about ducks is they don't scratch and ruin the garden or your landscaping like chickens do. Some ducks are excellent foregers too.
We had some khaki campbells before. I'm not sure if what breeds the wife ordered but I think she got some khaki campbells this time too. We just have some runner ducks now. They are fun to watch, just like little commedions. And they answer me when I call them. Unlike chickens they don't mind the snow.I have Khaki Campbell Ducks and also raised them with my chickens. because I have a very wooded property with lots of oak and hickories I had a slug problem. Therefore I allow my duck to freerange around the property more than the chickens. Slug problem stays under control and they are not nearly as destructive to gardens and beds as chickens or guineas. they can e a little noisy when people dog come around though. Kind of like geese but not as bad. Lay more than a chicken.
Food scarcity will increase over next few months, extreme food shortages in certain areas (like eggs), disrupted supply lines.
Any person foolish enough to be left holding dollars when the music stops will lose everything. Dollars will become worthless. Peter Schiff has been right all along.
Social chaos, rioting, armed looting, organized “flash mob looters” will hit commercial establishments, pharmacies, grocery stores will be targeted and cleaned out
I thought the Easter Bunny laid Easter eggs. You should leave raising ducks to us religious people. Every day is Easter with the egg hunt.
And messy? They poop an average of every 8 minutes. Sort of like politicians out their mouths.
Uncle Sam should study yogaBarter is always a win for both parties. Uncle Sam isn’t happy about not getting his cut though.
It should be the States making these decisions. Unfortunately I don't think there's many governors left that have a backbone to go against what the Feds and their pet experts recomend.
Tractor Supply is hiring 5000 people to meet demand of the people seeing that they need to be self sustaining. They are starting to garden, raise chickens for eggs, etc. Wonder how long they will stick with it?
