Put the old bumper in front of it and perhaps a diamond plate cover on top to hide the rail. You might even push it out a little to make a rack to carry a gas can or milk cartons.

LOL!!!! I made a similar bumper for an old Jeep when in College. Had a deer jump out in front of me the day after I put it on. When I stopped to see if I had any damage I saw that I just needed to flick a few hairs off the bumper and that was it.
An athlete in peak condition can produce about 1/10th HP for short bursts. A steam engine with a half inch bore can do about the same but for an extended time.
