I remember the pictures you posted of Star, the other horses, and donkeys! No animal should have to live like that! The couple who own the rescue and myself did this rescue with NO help from the sheriff's dept animal control! It took some finagling to get the owner to turn them over! I can't go into the details of what I did, but they were finally willing to hand over the donkeys!

Quick rescued donkeys update. The little jenny has not had her foal yet..... should be any time now!! They are trying to work with her so they can get her hooves trimmed. The jack got gelded and his hooves taken care of while he was still out from surgery. So hopefully some good news coming soon, at least they are getting the proper care!!

Now for the sad update....I was out feeding Buddy and those neighbors just had a trailer load of (what looks to be) Dorper Sheep delivered!! The two cows are still out there starving, the last remaining goat managed to escape last week and hasn't been seen since! So more animals with NO food! I just cannot imagine how these people's brains work!!

They don't (work). How can you mistreat animals to the point they have to be recsued, and then get more?

These people deserve to be treated the way they treat their animals. Leave them out in the cold with no food or water. Good thing I'm not king.

I suppose they think the livestock will forage off the land and don’t need to be fed, a common misconception. I’ve seen it here too just driving past a field. Livestock that look too thin. Do the owners seem poor or just completely stupid? @Pearl

The donkeys get rescued today!! Heard from the owners of the rescue yesterday. They let me know they had everything in line for their newcomers. They wanted to know if I could see the one jenny that is due to foal any moment!! As of yesterday evening, no foal!! Praying hard all goes well today and the two mommies to be get to their safe place! They will get water with electrolytes, and just good quality Bermuda hay at first, they have been without food (other than old leaves) for too long! I'll be able to keep up with their progress!! I plan to get involved with this particular rescue!!

It happened, they got safely to the rescue sanctuary!! The donks loaded easily for food! It was a horrible time dealing with the owner!! He ran the donkeys on to the neighbor's land next to me!! The rescue people had to get permission from the property owner to go on his land! The only place to set up a catch pen was in his driveway! But they loaded and made it safely!! The two cows and remaining goat are not happy! But the donkeys are! So successful but stressful!! Pearl is tired!! Pearl is happy for those sweet animals!!

Such good news. Too bad they can’t be told they can’t have animals due to lack of care. I feel sorry for the remaining animals and the sheep.

It is a law in Texas, if animals are removed from your property due to neglect, you cannot get more of those animals! But they didn't get more donkeys, and they ran the donkeys onto the property next to me......no animals were removed from their property!! These are sick people hell bent on neglecting animals just to show everyone that they CAN!!

A weird happening...10 of the 12 ewes got out, ran down the road on to the place at the very end of our road! Their entrance is through a relatives place on the next road. They escaped, will probably be eaten by coyotes ! Two ewes and the ram are left with the two cows. I don't hold much hope for the escapees, they are loud and lost, but out of the bad place!!

Good news on the city neighbors to my north! They were worried about the deer hanging around their yard. The guy across the road from them told them the deer were used to being fed by the former owner, get some deer corn. They did, and are enjoying watching the deer and not freaked out by them!! When I walked Bear down the road to the creek this evening the husband hollered to me!! He remembered I said the deer like bread, he asked what other 'leftovers' they can eat! I told him fruit, veggies, bread, chips, etc.! Glad they figured that out, the deer benefit, the neighbor's grandkids they are raising benefit, and I save $$$ !!

Wow you need to have animal control or humane society deal with this. Here they find a problem. set up temp food water. go to the judge . they take animals. Owners go to court. Are forbidden from getting more animals for 2 or more years.

What makes anyone think if they didn’t tend their donkeys that they’ll tend the sheep? Do they have to abuse every species before they aren’t allowed to have any animals? Did the guy who owns the property appreciate getting the herd of donkeys?

I have a small herd of 5 deer. Occasionally there are 6. Last twins were born. These are yearlings now and one has little nubs on his forehead.

THE CARTEL BEHIND US IS SELLING, GOING BACK TO DALLAS!!! Their entrance to their 50 acres is up on the next road, a long 50 acres, the part behind us is still pasture!! Just talked to a guy I clean for who is a realtor, he said there are so many old gas wells on that place that a contractor wouldn't want it! So there is a chance there could be houses behind us someday, but hopefully it sells as ONE place again! Time will tell, but at least the "OMG where do they get all their money" people are leaving!!

I’ve looked online at properties 2-4 hours from here to the west and northwest and they seem like really good prices for the size of the acreage. If only if only.

They want, hold your breathe and thank you California for this...2 and a half million...not gonna happen! They bought it for 700'000$. Appraises at 650'000! My folks paid $56,000 for our place, it now appraises at 460'000! Stupid!! There is a very dirty story as to what is going on with the place behind us. Hope decent people get it!!
