Neighbors can SUCK. So far the new ones are good, although there is an occasional chicken in our backyard :p. 3 foot fence, and chickens not as ancient as ours :p. At least they are safe in our backyard too, Teddy will guard em :)

🤣🤣😂😂I got a text from a friend at 3:45 this morning, her son is a volunteer firefighter with our local fire department. The new neighbors called 911 and then the fire alert because coyotes were on the place behind them!🙄 Buddy went off about then, Bear of course had to go out to pee and check things out. If the donkey sounds the alarm, Bear knows something is out of place. My friend knows I am up early and thought I would get a kick out of this!! The neighbors did lose their little dog recently to coyotes, let it out to pee at 10pm, no fenced yard, coyotes grabbed it and ran! Their house in the city hasn't sold yet, maybe they'll move back!!🤞

Their naivete is still astonishing to me. WTH were they thinking moving there in the first place? Hopefully (for you) they won't last, and will move back to the city.

This one tops it all!!! Didn't post it yet because I wanted more confirmation. There are some guys laying water line at the new neighbor's, I stopped and asked what they were doing, neighbors weren't home. Also talked to the neighbor across from them, he asked the neighbors what they were having done! The property has a small 900sq ft house, and a 2800sq ft car shop, a spring fed tank (pond), two wells. One well near the house, one well between the shop and pond. They are having water lines run from the house to the shop and across the property to where they will eventually build another house or put a mobile home. Disconnecting the shop water from the shop well!! They are disconnecting from the shop well because "that water comes from the ground, that's for animals, we won't have any animals"!!🤔😮 So I asked the guy in charge if he told them that the house is of course on a well too. He just laughed and said they never asked!! He said they told him what they wanted done and he shot them a price!! They were doing the electric work in the wellhouse by the house when they weren't home! 😃😮 That wellhouse always doubled as a storage shed so I guess they don't realize the house is on a well!! Where the heck do these people think their water is coming from!!??🤔😮😮😮

Are these people named "Biden"? They seek a new level of stupidity every day! :confused2:

Don't fire a warning shot. If you get the wrong prosecutor he could say that the warning shot proved that you didn't feel your life was in danger. Blow away the dog if you feel you are within the law. Blow away the neighbour if you are threatened. Calling the cops and pressing charges is a better way to go. If you discharge a weapon in your neighbour's presence he's calling the cops. The first person to call the cops gains the status of victim and the other then becomes the bad guy until proven differently.

I think their own nievity will do them in!! 😃

Neighbors to my south get the ***** award today! The guy next to us doesn't live on the property, he got his (remaining) cattle taken from him this summer after some died without food and water! On the other side of him is the younger couple who let their cows out to graze the roadsides (illegal here) because they couldn't afford to feed them. But they bragged about spending 3,000$ on fireworks! So today's pitiful story: The young couple's water at their house froze Sunday morning, so they went to a friend's house in town with their 5 kids. BUT didn't realize the animals (2 cows, 3 donkeys, 4 goats) might need water too! So single guy found 3 dead goats this morning, called dumb neighbor guy. They let the animals on to single guy's property and filled a water trough ( hope they realize it will freeze). Yay, except they still don't have any hay!! Praying one of them thinks about getting hay!! Why do idiots like this get animals??

That is a special kind of stupid. If you can't take care of them donate them to somebody even the ASPCA. Admit you can't handle them. Don't abuse or neglect the poor animal. I hope they get treated like that in their next life. :waiting:

How did you manage to be around these people, Pearl? Reminds me of the old song "Clowns to the left of me Jokers to the right. Here I am stuck in the middle with you."

I can relate. The guy next to me thinks his property is hallowed ground, and if anybody touches it he is out screaming. We haven't spoken in 30 years. At least there is no animal abuse.

My ***** nephew bought a day old calf.
He put it in an open pasture with no protection.
It got wet, the wind blew hard and I found the calf almost dead.
I pounded on his door and told him to take care of it.
He said he didn't know what to do.
At that point all he could do is put it out of his misery.
I also told him if he ever did anything that stupid again I would call the County Sheriff.
He's the same fool that bought a mini Herford and didn't know it would not grow up big.

North, East, and South, ☹️! Thank goodness for the ranch across the road, nice couple who put the animals first!! Our county animal control is useless or I'd call them! Nothing I hate worse than seeing animals abused/neglected!!

I don't mind anyone from the city moving to the country, maybe fulfilling a dream. But if you are going to get animals PLEASE LEARN how to take care of them!! Ask, read, do whatever you need to do to learn!! But things like not even thinking that your animals don't have/need water (or food) really disgusts me!

Heading out to feed Buddy. Had to lock him off his south pasture last night, the starving animals were hanging at the fence. They look wormy and I don't want Buddy interacting with them. Thank goodness for electric fence or they would be through the fence after his food! Hopefully they move them back to their own place today, but they will probably try to dump them off on the guy who's property they are on!

It's a couple years ago, so I think I can tell the story? My neighbors were renting pasture. And I tried to put a blind eye against the assault on my ideas of caring for livestock because they were woefully inadequate by my standards?

But I couldn't ignore the five hundred pound calf with wire wrapped around it's leg. The leg above the wire turnicut was swollen to double the natural size. I couldn't ignore that and mind my own business.

Worst part was the renter was "on vacation" in California. The property owner was over eighty years old, but he was as concerned as I was. We managed to corrale the suffering animal and cut the wire off. The meat was rotten and stank so bad! I told him it was imperative that it got antibiotics, but he insisted that the renter would have to do that part. I pressed the issue because I keep supplies for such emergency, but he didn't want me spending another hour on his renters livestock?

A couple days later, the renter removed that calf from the property, but I never got an answer for what happened to the poor animal? The happy ending was when the owners sold out and the new owners evicted that renter and he sold out all his cows. I was relieved how that worked out, because putting it blunt some people have no business in the livestock business?

Around here if you call 911 and report a neglected animal the County Sheriff will show up and they do issue substantial fines and they will take the animal if it's a bad enough case.
The neighbor let some friends of friends put horses in their pasture and I told him he could open the gate between our fields.
A few months later I saw the horses trying to drink from my sprinklers so I knew their water trough was empty.
I filled the water trough and told the neighbor to call the guy and get the horses off my pasture.
He said he had already done that because the Sheriff had shown up and told him he would be fined if he didn't take care of them. His pasture his problem regardless of who owned the animals.
If you let your dogs run free the fine is $250 per dog and again the County Sheriff will show up when they are called.

Our animal control SUCKS!! I could tell MANY horror stories of how lazy and a- holey (🤔) they are! They REALLY piss me off!

My state added extra protections to keep small farmers being harassed/dragged into court by radical leftists (a very real threat). The unfortunate side effect was making it nearly impossible for a court to intervene when it’s needed.

I was sickened by what happened here but there was nothing I or the county sheriff could legally do. So I spent $150 on ivermectin, out of my own pocket... maybe I saved a few of them.

Animal control is so under staffed they can only dispatch to the high priority calls like a dangerous dog.
That's why we call the sheriff.
There are so many stray cats and dogs around here they could never pick all of them up.
That's also why there are so many killed on the road.
I think a lot has to do with the culture of the Hispanic population.
They don't seem to put a high priority on pets.

For the first time my county now has 'animal control' people. Most importantly a place to take strays. The 2nd part isn't up and running yet but they're paying someone to do something! Baby steps...

The largest town has had a shelter for several years. But you can only drop critters off if a resident of the city and you had to prove it.

It's a different world for critters and people outside the city limits. At times it was warfare, like when i live trapped 38 feral cats. They were diseased, wreaking havoc on every farm for miles. And there was no place to take them after i caught them.

After reading some of these stories I am so glad that we don't have any neighbors. The nearest one is 4 miles away. Since our land is completely inside the national forest there isnt any private land anywhere near our place, so there will never be any neighbors.
We had none this close for a long time, then people would move and sell their places. They get split up into smaller places and neighbors happen! The people (or should I say cartel) who bought the 50 acres behind us will build in the next two years! Luckily their cover business is on the next road! But we will have the cartel leader's house somewhere behind us! And yes, you are reading this correctly!
