My pond was 10 deep. For many years we were out in the raw Arizona desert. There were no other houses around for miles. Over the years, our pond was a rest stop for migratory birds and wildlife of every description. I also rescued many abandoned, stray dogs from the pond. Any dog fortunate enough to make it across the harsh desert to my pond, was given a life of royality for the remainder of their days.

Actually got Hubby to get in the pool tonight, almost full moon!! AMAZING how much you can see!! Three outside cats crashed on the pool deck, Bear was in his yard and pool! Quiet light night!! Stunning!!
I'm going "observing" right now! Bear has to stay in until 6:30. FULL MOON so we we all be out for night pool!!

Yes, but in my current back condition, I do not want to get in the pool by myself, and the wife was not interested.
Wear a life jacket and walk in from the steps. The water resistance will help build muscle without jarring your back
There used to be a YMCA swimming pool exercise class for people with back pain before lawsuits about discriminations closed it down.

Yesterday evening the deer were making their regular trek across the pasture behind me! A few moms and five kids! The little ones were running like crazy having a blast!! They made a big loop around a patch of trees and it was off to the races, until the one in front spooked and stopped!! It was a pile up!! They got up and stood there a minute and took off again, I couldn't stop laughing!!
Yesterday I watched t-storms east and south of me! Beautiful thunderheads!! Looks like a repeat later this afternoon!!
A lot of birds yesterday!! The bluebirds have really been enjoying the birdbaths every afternoon! Had Scissortails back since the rain in the beginning of the month. I thought the hummingbirds left, but they have been on the sage bushes, I leave feeders out until early October!
I saw a humming bird yesterday feeding on a flower on our deck. Thought they were all gone
Had to rescue a dragonfly yesterday! It got in the water, I lifted it out on the back of my hand. It sat there and dried itself off, took a rest, then took off!!

It's dang cold in there now!! Warm afternoons with a breeze, 70° water, brrrr! Pool float only, no swimming, shirt (shirts) on over swimsuit!! Been really enjoying the Bluebirds in the birdbaths every afternoon!! About a week left of daily pool time! Not in there much now! Pearl will be running on zero therapy soon....

Well the water warmed up! Many wasps and bees around! The dragonflies run them off! Seeing a mix of summer and winter birds lately.
Wow, lots of north bound geese again today!! Nice two hour float time (

Had some crazy male robins checking out the nesting possibility's in our back yard.....in the snow. They come back every year and chase off the little birds.
Starting to see the early bird Canadian geese on the Missouri river that runs north by us. We are on a major flyway for migration. The lakes are still frozen to the north so the big rush is still a ways off.
