Beans would hurt people if he was in a bad enough mood or just felt mischievous. He got mad about something once and deliberately kicked a roll of chickenwire at me. He also chomped my leg pretty hard once- took one of the freckles off of it. The red cow saw him do it & got mad. She charged over & rammed him. He wasn't expecting it. He never tried to bite me around her again- and she followed me around like a puppy.
First pic is of a model boat my dad gave my sister. 2nd is an acrylic painting I made in art class.

Those look great, lots of talent. 👍
I can relate to what your saying, about Red. When I bought Tobacco, the man said, I hate to sell you this horse, because he just put a man in the hospital, I have to tell you that, before I can sell him to you.The man was wrong though, for he went after him, beating him in his face, with a 2x4,he still had scabs on his face, and Tobacco pawd him down, so if you don't want him I understand, but just have to tell you about it, before I can sell him to you. I bought him, and I never regretted it for a minute. He had high spirits and personality. Tobacco, quickly became my best friend. The only time he nearly bucked me off, I landed upside down on his neck with one leg holding me, he didn't move a muscle, till I climbed back on and we took off. 😁 Meerkat told me, that horse is gonna kill you you fool. lol, It never happened.😁

It's spring. All that ice and snow has to go somewhere.

Mr. Meer, it sounds like the man who beat tobacco deserved it. Animal abuse is one of my pet peeves. We had a horse named Sadie who was terrified of men because she'd been abused by a man. She was very sweet to me though. She had a colt from Beans before we got him neutered. Beans would actually hold very still if someone got under him. He learned that from being groomed & he loved to be brushed. He once got some stray barbed wire tangled up in his tail (apparently our neighbors had cut our fence to sneak in to steal stuff & left the barbed wire dangling & he somehow got it stuck in his tail). It took me probably 20 minutes or more to remove the barbed wire, but he held still & didn't give me any trouble at all because he seemed to know what I was doing.

Peanut, that sign reminds me of the sign off LA 10 that said "No parking". It flooded and covered most of the sign & someone tied a small boat to it.
Gorgeous mountain view!

Sometimes the animals are reacting to a past bad experience they had when they act out. People abuse them not knowing what's wrong with them.Like some I've seen react to certain smells that remind them of a bad experience they went through. Beans sounds like he had some good ways too.:)

Nice pictures Peanut. 👍

The red horse was named Beans. Original name was Red Beans but we just called him Beans. He also answered to D***head and C***sucker. He was a real jerk. Not a smooth ride. He'd try to scrape people off on low tree branches, barn overhang, he'd sit down, kneel, roll, etc to try to get people off his back. He mostly did it to heavier people. Sometimes to kids if they tried to control him-- although he was actually good with very small children. For some reason he would behave with the little ones. But he would terrorize non-human animals like pigs, goats, and calves. He also bullied & bit other horses. One of my sister's friends brought her horse for a visit. Beans tried to bully her and ended up with hoof prints on his chest for a week. That horse would stand guard over the trough while our gray horse ate her fill. Then the visiting horse would eat while Beans looked on sadly. We made sure they all got food of course, but it was funny seeing him being bullied instead of bullying everything & everyone. He loved watermelons- was notorious for trying to steal them when people had them in their pickup beds. We would shout "Beans, Watermelon!" and he'd come running.
Not a watermelon, but a pic of a squash dad grew:

What happened to Red beans? Nice squash.

He got out through a broken part in the fence (where the neighbors cut it) and he went in their yard. Not sure if they shot him or if he got into their drug supply and overdosed (they grow & sell drugs) or if they poisoned him. Neighbor came to tell me the horse was dead in his yard but refused to let me see the body so I suspect they killed him or were wanting to hide their drugs. They hauled the body out into the woods with their tractor-- I never saw where they took it, but I saw the drag marks & some of his hair from tail or mane.

The sand and rabbit tree reminded me of a piece of quartz we found in the sand in the desert. It was shaped like a rabbit head (wish I could find it to get a picture).
Pics of tree remains from the 300yr old oak that fell over in January 2016. One of them is my nice neighbor who was nice enough to come cut the tree up for us. He and my other nice neighbor have both lost sons. Other neighbor (who used to install flooring) lost his son when the son went to dive into the water at the river & the sand had moved so he broke his neck. The chainsaw wielding one's son was murdered but the body was never found & no one was ever convicted.
