What do you do when two brown bears decide they want your fishing spot? You give it to them. Oh well.

I've heard about them, never seen one til today. A chainsaw with fuel injection. I'd hate to lug this heavy thing around all day. I'm certainly not going to pay $1509 for the privilege.

I trimmed and topped for a cutter on my cousin's logging crew when I was a teen. Alabama summers were brutal when cutting timber. Now a timber cutter rides in an air conditioned cab (2nd pic). I took this last month, another cousin's logging crew.

AWESOME!! Glad to see the "before" pics, can't wait to see the after!!
Thanks! I posted the after pics in this thread My Ensuite Bathroom Reno- Project #2

I've been working on this project so long it feels weird to be this far along. I started on this in 2009 just before my father passed away. Encouragement from people on the forums helped me get motivated to keep pushing on it. I need to get the floor clean- having trouble getting some of the grime to come out after it sat for so long. Now if I can find my floor cleaner... LOL.

I had to stop and take a couple pictures yesterday on a blueberry and mushroom run along our private trail network,

After the run up the mountain and harvesting the last of our spuds, time for a beer in the hammock!

Funny, the pup usually crashes by the kitchen table or the tv. But when I’m playing he’ll come over and crash at my feet. If I stop playing he’ll go back to a favorite spot. Critters respond to the oddest things…

Mine will do the same!

Current situation with the air purifier going full blast. Our air quality right now is at 136, unhealthy from all the dang smoke.
Was hoping we could get away with not too many fires and unfortunately I was wrong. My eyes are burning 🔥

I'm surprised we don't have more fires here. Everything is so dry all it would take is a trailer safety chain dragging or a lightning strike. I can't remember the last time we had rain. Maybe 2 months or longer.
According to the map there are 12 fires burning in Washington state right now.
An idiot neighbor was burning the ditches yesterday. I was just waiting for the fire department but she got lucky.
I can feel the smoke in my lungs. I have things I need to do outside but I am not going out. Things will just have to wait.

Yeah it's not worth it. I can't believe people who burn this time of year, we go through this every year!!
Our air is literally brown. I think there is a fire just north of us in Ferry County, plus the Bolt Creek and Double Creek fires - I believe those are the biggest. The other day it rained up here and the air was fantastic. Didn't take long for the smoke to move in once it stopped. I also read that a lot of the smoke is from fires in Oregon.

My dad gave me this almost 20 years ago.

It's a section of the original flag pole from atop the Tacoma Dome.

Originally installed in 1983, it was retired and replaced in 2003.

The pole was sectioned, imprinted, and given to workers, city officials, friends, and families. My dad worked maintenance at the Tacoma Dome and even got to drive the Zamboni for the minor league hockey games.

My section is from roughly 6' from the top, so it's only about 6" across.

The bottom sections of the flag pole were up to 16-18" wide!

It's a pretty unique piece of local history.

Stopped by a neighbors barn. Had a hay baler for sale, a Gehl. I'd never heard of that brand. It had some interesting features, seemed well built.
