I heard about this. Disgusting. Another example why people need to keep their mouths shut.

Each and every one involved in the "raid" should be fired. The homeowner should be able to personally sue whoever ordered the raid, and everyone that participated in it.
I wouldn't care if the guy had a pet moose living with him. That's his business.

When they mandate we eat bugs and lab meat, I bet they will come for the chicken, cows, pigs, etc.
I have my opinion of who should have been euthenized here. I hope the victim and animal rights people force this issue. THIS is why people hate the government and want the whole thing torn down. Too many badge heavy pseudo-cop bullies.
I have squirrels and bunnies and quail who live on my property - like millions of Americans. They aren't pets, they just live there in harmony, but the jack boots better bring an army if they want to hurt them. I'm old, life in prison won't last long.

This is somewhat local, western NY. I know people who know these folks personally. The sanctuary farm they run is big, and they’ve done so much good. The city of Elmira added a picture of the squirrel to its billboard, and so many are supporting the sanctuary.
DEC has gotten several bomb threats and at least 4 offices are closed with people now working from home.
Very wrong what happened. I have not read all the details but suspect this is a case of following orders and poor judgement calls.

It seems like the death of this pet squirrel will be changing at least one law and providing help for many, many animals.
FWIW, I don’t think these people are going to profit from this, the animals will.

No government agency should have the power to do something like this. I've always felt that fish and game departments have been given way too much power.

What I took from that is 'someone' reported the keeping of the animal; what was their beef, I wonder?
Certainly helped with their fundraising.

Cradle to the grave control. I feel that this was an attack on conservatives to teach us a lesson.
In the Early Mornings around here, whether in a Car or on Me Bike, I spot Squirrels Running Playing and Foraging for Nuts and I see Plenty laying Dead on the Streets... Too many, I can't Believe that so many Drivers can't see Them...?!? I went so far that I buy Fresh/Raw Peanuts and sprinkle them on the ground under their trees so They won't cross the road here to get to My side...!!! I have sometimes just walked out near the street to make Drivers Slow Down to give some Squirrels a chance to get back Alive...!!

Who hasn't had some kind of wild bird or animal as a "pet" while growing up? When I was a kid I had a pet coon, a great horned owl, and a hawk. All were eventually turned loose in the wild. My granddaughter has been asking me for a baby coon. I'll try and get her one this spring. I trap a lot of coons already every winter.

Squirrels are indecisive on what to do when they're on the road and a car is coming at them and often "freeze up". Sure, I'll try not to hit them but if it's between the squirrel and me getting into an accident... sorry squirrel.
I took an 80 mile drive last weekend. Between the squirrels, possums, coons and deer, there were at LEAST 100 of them dead on or beside the road.
