I'm not too sure. Little granddaughter broke it up. We have two herds of guineas, used to have three. One herd is the african standard and a few lavender. There were nine of those left this morning. The other herd are all French guineas, the ones that get two pounds heavier than the standard. This morning there were only seven left. I started with 25 of those, and 30 of the standard. They have since scattered and I won't see them for a day or so, I'm sure.

Oh, hey the nine year old boy (Levi) just started walking up our drive to get the dog. I asked him how the dog got out this morning, and he said he didn't know. His parents gave him a leash and told him to come get her. I told him nope. A parent needs to come over, get the dog, and we'll talk at that time. (again). They need to turn the dog in and let it be adopted out to a family that doesn't live on a farm.

I'm glad your making the parents come over. That is ridiculous. They need to face the music or it will keep happening
She is much nicer than me.
I would have told the kid that next time he wouldn't need a leash but a box to bring the dead dog home in, and let him bring that home to his parents.
The parents aren't gonna show up.

She drove over with Levi in tow, I met her on our porch and told her that her dog has taken out so many of our animals, I can forget breeding them. She said that when she talked to my husband she offered to pay for him. I told her no, won't take the money, but that she could do one thing. Take the dog in to the humane society in the bigger town tomorrow and give her up. I told her I asked Levi how she was out, and he said he didn't know. She starting screaming at him all trailer trash like and said that he did it on purpose. I told her I needed her to make the dog gone tomorrow. No exceptions. So she screamed at Levi to come get the dog out of our garage and off they went.
So, I'm assuming the dog will be taken to the shelter in the bigger town tomorrow. If we see the dog again, we will take it to the shelter and not say anymore about it. They don't watch Levi, I know that they do not watch a dog.

I saw Putnam's demands for leaving the Ukraine...

I read that he wants the Ukraine to disarm so they won't be a threat, who invaded who, screw that....
I'd make ever family car an Abrams, and make sure that every house had a stock of food, water, and ammo.....

I'd be all about giving them a bill. Nothing like the realization of what is invested in something that they don't give two hoots about to wake people up.

Are you taking odds on when the dog comes back?

A 12 gauge and rock salt can moto-vate a bad actor to leave the area. I thought it was a coyote, it was early and I didn't have my glasses....

No just take it to the pound.. they will hold it a day and then ......

If your neighbor refuses to do something about the dog you can have her criminally prosecuted for allowing her dog to kill your livestock repeatedly. It would be a minor thing and you don't have to follow though, but you can tell her that she can be criminally liable for it. I doubt the boy let the dog out on purpose. Not the boy's fault or the dog's fault that the parents are irresponsible.

Speaking of irresponsible parents: My friend's ex indeed moved a bunch of her stuff back in to his house and is refusing to move out. She's trying to guilt-trip my friend by claiming he's going to cause her to have a miscarriage by making her leave. So, she's back over there messing things up and he's feeling miserable again.

I‘d replace the rock salt with 00 shot. Legal to terminate dog that is attacking live stock.

Bet the dog’s owner dumps it out in the country.

It's a welsh corgi mix dog. Very friendly. Named Pepper. We've known this dog for awhile, it's not vicious to me, just my animals. I don't want to shoot it, I want it gone. Now if Pepper was vicious to us, then no problem. So, yep, we have a plan when the dog comes back, and it'll come back if she doesn't stick to her word and bring it in tomorrow. Plan is, Pepper goes in the garage cage and we take her into the bigger town to the humane society. This dog would be a great dog for a family with a back yard. She'd even be a good house dog, just not a farm dog. They won't pay for the animals I lost, they are our non amish neighbors, and they have a one acre trashy house, and I know they don't have any money. The dad is pretty old, has bad eyesight, and I don't think he works anymore. The mom is old, too, and busses tables at the truck stop in the bigger town. Any other neighbor would of tended to their animal right away. These people don't even watch the two kids they adopted.

A 9yrold kid in an unstable home... careful @Amish Heart . They make movies about such kids. That kid might blame you for the loss of his dog and cause problems down the road, maybe years from now.

After I lost the 2nd bird I'd have made calls to friends. Make sure some anonymous stranger was to blame for the dogs accident. Me, "I know nothing about your dog, did something happen to it?"

We had that same problem for a little while when I lived in Alabama. The neighbor behind us had a rat-terrier that he kept on a cable-run in his front yard with a doghouse at the end. The dog would get loose every so often and comb the neighborhood. He would do hit & run attacks on people's back porch if there was a cat out.
He wouldn't kill them, just grab them by the neck and shake them until their neck was all torn up and leave seconds later.
I took pictures of our torn-up outside cat with my tablet and showed them to the owner.
He was horrified and I assured him that I did not post or send any of them to anyone, they were just for him. Then I said:
"Take care of your dog, or I will".
As I was walking away, the little bastid bit the back of my leg and ran. (tall sox & good jeans worked but it really hurt)
I just turned around, looked at the owner, and tilted my head to the side.
@Peanut will have to explain why you never want to see a redneck do that at you. 😳
I never saw that little dog again after that.

The kid hates the dog. He kicks it. That I'm not worried about. I won't tell a soul (except you guys) where the dog ends up if I see it again. Otherwise, I don't know where it's gone to. I would assume that they've kept their word and brought it in. The farmers around here would not of been so kind. The dog would of been shot a while ago.

I'm not going to kill the dog. Or the neighbors. So no heavy artillery by me. The dog just needs to not live near me. It's very adoptable. Chaining it up doesn't do any good if the neighbor boy lets it loose. They raise rabbits, chickens, and ducks. They would have a fit if one of our dogs took out their animals.

Neighbor HAD a very aggressive dog. I was working out back when this dog came on my property to bark and growling at me. I stomped my foot at the dog and yelled for it to go home. Dog's hind legs are tearing at the ground. I stomp and yell again. Dog moves closer to me. I yell while I slowly move towards the dog. Dog slowly walks backward while growling and barking aggressively at me. When the dog is finally back on his property I turn my back to it to go back to work. I took a few steps before turning around to see what the dog was doing. Dog had cut the distance between us in half. The trigger was being slowly squeezed when a young voice calls the dog by name . Dog looked back and forth confused before running back towards its home.

Wasn't long after that the same dog attacked (wife's words) the wife's car in our driveway. Wife was afraid to get out of the car so she drove back to the neighbors. Told the dog's owner where the dog was and what it had done. Owner said he had been told by others that the dog was a bit aggressive, that we should have shot it, he'll take care of it. Later we heard two gun shots coming from the neighbor's direction. Never saw the dog again. Now I know the neighbor's word is good.

I don't enjoy killing animals BUT I will do what needs to be done.

I know some dogs are aggressive, but people need to be responsible for their own pets. My friend's Mom sometimes dumps pets on him even though she knows he can't afford them.

He was pretty down yesterday when his ex was there refusing to leave. He told my brother he's going to give her a move-out date (even though she has now moved almost all of her stuff back in) but he doesn't ever follow through. If he says he can't throw her out bc she's pregnant then he's a hypocrite. Over a year ago his ex invited an 18-yr-old who was very pregnant and had a 1-yr-old child already (came from an abusive household w/ an alcoholic Mom). The 1-yr-old was a terror but the girl was nice. She watched her kid as best as she could, cleaned up, cooked, and did what she could. She took better care of the ex's baby than the ex did. But the ex got jealous. She'd see the girl holding her baby and demand him back saying she wanted to hold him. Take him, and then set him right down in his crib. The back of his head is flat from being left lying down so much. The other girl fed the baby more often than the ex did. The ex hated holding him and feeding him, wouldn't change his diapers either. The girl would have to do it.
My friend liked the girl better than his ex so she felt threatened. Started making up lies about the girl to poison my friend's mind against her. Would blame the baby's rashes on the girl. Would make a mess and claim the girl made it. Would know when my friend was coming home, see the girl cleaning, tell her to go rest so she could finish cleaning and then pretend she'd been cleaning the whole time and told my friend the other girl didn't lift a finger. Sadly, my friend fell for it. Didn't help that the girls drunken Mom dropped the 11-yr-old brother off one day and didn't come back for weeks. His sister used her food stamps to pay for his food (she bought food for all of them-- including my friend's ex-- with her food stamps) and did her best to contribute-- but she'd just been kicked out and fired on the same day and was trying to find a job. My friend's ex refused to work or clean while pregnant, but this girl was busting her hump. The little brother flushed something big down the toilet and clogged the drain. Not sure what it was. Friend kicked him, the girl, and the 1-yr-old out over it. He did give short notice and the girl knew it was mostly bc of the ex that she was being kicked out. But she was 8 months along at that time and had nowhere to go. The ex was telling my friend that the girl was banging dudes in the bathroom with the baby in the house. Which wasn't true. If anything, it was his ex who was doing that & lying about it. She was cheating on him over 2 years.
I think we'll have to get my Mom over to talk to him and explain that we can't keep financially helping him out when his ex is draining his $ still. I really hope he actually sticks to what he said and kicks her out, but its looking like he's going to wuss out again.

A neighbor came over and told my Dad his dog was chasing the cows. Dad said I don't have a dog. The neighbor said what about that dog sitting by your feet. Not my dog he just comes here sometimes. Dad told the neighbor if the dog was chasing his cows he would shoot it and that's what the neighbor should do. Neighbor says I don't have a gun. Dad goes in the house and comes back with a shotgun and says here. Neighbor just shakes his head and leaves.
Nobody else ever said the dog chased cows so I don't think he did.
That dog lives around here for several years and nobody knew who's it was but everyone fed it and treated it like their own.
I have no idea what ever happened to that dog.
Dad did kill 2 pits that he saw killing his calf. The gang bangers knew who did it and never said a word.
I was advised by animal control to shoot to kill if a dog was after my animals or people.

IIRC, where I live you can legally shoot dogs for trespassing. Hell, you can legally shoot people for trespassing, but I wouldn't do it if they were not harming anything. We never shot anyone's dogs though. Never came to that fortunately. Aside from the one that chased me and killed my cat, we didn't have problems. They weren't able to get into our chickenyard and we like dogs more than people.

Speaking of dogs, my brother yanked one of the puppies off the table and carried her to the back door and she screamed like she was being murdered. She continued yelping long after he set her down. She ran away and hid from him. When he went near her she cowered down until he petted her gently and then scooped her up and held her for a couple minutes to comfort her. She likes to be held (but he'd apparently grabbed her by the scruff of the neck to get her off the table). I think he was probably too rough for her. She's now playing with her brother in the yard fighting over a toy. I should have gotten 2 of the same kind but I think Jelly would still go after her toys bc he is competitive.

That's the thing. I want the neighbor to deal with their own dog. It is not my responsibility to take the dog to the pound or to the train station. It's theirs. If my dog was killing livestock or being aggressive to our neighbors, I would deal with it. I would not make my neighbors deal with it. But they are the same way with their son, who is basically raised by the neighbors.

…. But they are the same way with their son, who is basically raised by the neighbors.

Sounds like the son isn't being raised, he’s just growing. To me raised equals training. Without training the son could spend his childhood and adulthood bouncing around trying to survive.

That really is a shame about the son. I'm worried that will happen with my friend's ex's baby. He gets ignored a LOT and his mother's adopted mother is not in good health. The ex can't reliably watch her own baby and there is no one else to babysit him.

I found out my brother didn't set the poor puppy down, he threw her down bc he was mad. No wonder she yelped. She and her brother are currently on the bed all wet from outside.

My hedge trimmer that I had to charge for 16 hours only lasted about 2 hours. I think it's supposed to last 3.5 hours. Got it charging again. And f*** those blackberry weeds. Caught on my clothes and cut me up. Some of them were too thick for the hedge trimmer to cut.
