The replacement assembly is not identical to the original. The replacement is on the right in the second image. Bother...

Called Repair Clinic and the rep could not get it through his head that the fridge has a water filter and all water passes through the filter before going to the valve assembly.

Being determined to enlighten him I tried his patience before he got it.

I am not faulting Repair Clinic. They are at the mercy of Kenmore/Maytag and their documentation.

No. But now the next day I find I am the owner of two flame sensors. Yup they sent me another one.

We have been making ice the old fashioned way so I am not hurting. They have a repeated message while on hold about using their state of the art web site to find the parts we need. Now if their warehouse had a system to find the part I ordered.

Never had this type of trouble with them previously.

Well, I've been on hold with the pharmacy for over an hour now (which included a 30 min meal break) and I'm still waiting for someone to answer the flipping phone. I need to check if my mom's rx is there and ready and there's no other way for me to check other than driving all the way there. I'm so irritated right now. This is the same pharmacy that was unexpectedly closed without explanation on a Sunday when I went to pick up the med last month. She needs these, it's not something that can just be stopped. Argh.

Edit: I hung up after an hour and 15 mins, they must not be open. I'll call again in the morning.

I felt like an idiot! I grow peppers every year, sometimes buy fresh in winter. Even keep a box of latex gloves in the kitchen which I use. Except the last 2 bottles today...

Darn it stings!!! It's been years since the last time, maybe it'll be a dozen more before the next case of pink eye.

When Hubby and I went on our second date, we went to a friend of his house. The guy loved to cook Mexican food. Both the guys managed to rub hot sauce in their eyes! Both us gals had a good time laughing at them!

I have an update about the toddler that can't speak yet. I went over to help assemble a playset and friend's gf's brother was over helping. Apparently he apologized enough and was wanting to make up for things by helping out. His common-law wife and kids were over too. Wifi and cell signal were all out for the entire neighborhood so they were bored. Anyway, I started talking to them all about how I was worried about the kid not talking. They all stressed how important it is to get him assessed in case its a hearing problem & it finally got through to my friend and his gf. The peer pressure worked. Friend is now realizing how bad it is and is looking to find a doctor/specialist to assess him. I'm still reminding him it is fairly urgent and I will help him locate someone. No pediatricians in town, but one of the local doctors might know someone who can do assessments in Alexandria or a nearby city.

The older half-sister heard us talking about it and started trying to get him to talk. She was trying to teach him the word "ball". She was also playing with him and interacting with him a lot more than his mother ever does. She's a good big sister. Such a sweet kid. When we were assembling the playset and the beam was above my friend's head she said "Don't let it fall on Dada's head!"

At least now my friend is coming around to the idea that the toddler may have some sort of hearing impairment and maybe everything sounds like mumbles to him. Although, I got irritated with the gf bc she started hitting him bc he didn't understand her instructions. I told her that he doesn't understand and he was confused and just cried and ran to me for comfort.

I crushed one tie pepper at lunch, forgot it was on my hand after then used the bathroom. OMG when I went back to work outside in the heat I guess the powder activated. That was not fun. Funny but not fun.

My only gripe now is how much my body hurts from bending and helping to put stuff together and pick stuff up. At one point I bent down to get a screw that fell and momentarily got stuck. I was bent down there saying "I'm fat. I'm fat-- I'm stuck" but then managed to pull free. Friend said he was about to laugh his butt off if I'd gotten stuck. I'm sure he would've helped me though.

Got home and stepped into the living room to bring Mom food and one of the cats had crapped directly in front of the door inside and I slipped on it-- but didn't fall. Mom must've had her headphones on and not heard the cat trying to get out. I'll have to wait until the painkillers kick in before I can fully clean it up.

Cats knocked over the rice container and spilled it-- twice. Then they knocked over a bin full of other stuff that spilled. But I got the crap cleaned up.

My brother is really frustrated with work. He's getting low pay but is being ordered to do management personnels' work. It's above his paygrade but they make him do it anyway. He has to close (which someone who has worked there as long as he has shouldn't have to do- especially at his pay grade-- and he's the only one who knows how to do the spreadsheets in Excel and get things printed out. The manager at another casino messaged him to ask how to do things and he had to explain it. He's also been doing the repair work that the guy from the other company was supposed to be doing and quit. The boss from that company told him that he will only pay him what he's already getting paid because he doesn't want him to quit the other job. Wants him to work both part-time. He said that if they keep making him work above pay grade without the pay and if the other guy wants to pay him what he's getting now, he'll quit and go work in the kitchens where he'll get higher pay. He makes less than $11/hr and was doing the work of a guy who started out with $14/hr pay and they want to pay him under $12 if he moves to the new job. He said he'll tell the boss to either start him off at $14/hr or he won't take the job bc the only reason to take it would be to get higher pay and doing the same pay means there is no point bc he'll only have to pay more taxes. He's got to talk to his main supervisor about it. They have been talking about giving him a raise, but it will still be under $12/hr. It is skilled labor where he has to fix machines, do some heavy lifting (which is giving him a problem right now bc of his shoulder & deltoid). He's very frustrated and insulted that they offered him less $ than the previous clown who couldn't even be bothered to show up or do the work most of the time. If he takes the other job he'll have to pay NJ tax, Louisiana tax, and federal tax. So, if they keep his pay that low, it won't be worth it.

I'm a light turner offer. Drives me nuts when they're left on. My peeve is no one in our house can put toilet paper on the holder. They put it on top of the holder, on top of the empty tube.

I would remove the TP from the bath room & let them suffer until they learned to put it on the holder facing the way you like best.

Exactly. And then employers are whining that nobody wants to work. It's not that nobody wants to work, but nobody wants to work the job that should be done by 5 or more people at insultingly low pay rates and little to no benefits. If they offered competitive wages, decent treatment, & good benefits they can actually use then they will work. Companies used to offer better deals to get better quality employees. My sister's company no longer offers pensions to new employees. So many places only hire part-time but make the people work full-time hours but find creative ways to cheat the clock. Making them work fulltime 11 weeks and then give them 1 hour less on the 12th week to reset so they can't qualify as fulltime. Or giving them so few hours its not even worth their time to go bc it costs more for transportation to and from work than they get paid.

Walmart now has a scam where they no longer pay overtime. Instead they say it goes toward PTO. But the moment someone tries to use their PTO they get written up or fired. And if they get fired while still being owed PTO, they just lose those hours & don't get compensated.

Its still hot as hell in here. 86°. It was up to 87° earlier. Got windows open, poured bleach down the condensate line & made sure it was capped, checked the filters, turned breaker on and off, shut off the AC to see if it would cool down but nothing worked. My brother just went and turned it back on. He said it was still running anyway so the thermostat might be broken. It wouldn't shut the fan off when I told it to turn the fan off. Not sure what the problem is, but the cooling was working until mom fiddled with the thermostat to change it to heat the other night. Had it set to cool only but it only heated instead. Hotter inside than outside.

My brother keeps turning the fan back on after I turn it off and it keeps getting hotter. I'm about to go cut the breaker off because its up to 88° while its' only 74° outside. Friend said he might be able to come over after work to take a look and see if he can figure out what is wrong. We got the new ac and thermostat installed circa 2009/20010 but the thermostat was made in 2004. I don't know if it is bad or if something is wrong with the compressor. But we are boiling in here.

Turns out my thermostat was bad. Had to drive an hour to Lowes to get a new one. They scanned my MyLowes card and said it was over $190. I asked about military discount. They said it is not linked to my card (but it has been for a long time - for some reason my card is not scanning properly-- I think maybe the card is too old or something) I gave my phone number and it did military discount so it was down to $178. Still high for a thermostat but it works and its easy to see.

The problem with overturning Roe v Wade is that it doesn't stop just safe legal abortions, it takes away privacy from patients and also means women can't get necessary medical treatment bc it might cause the fetus to die. In states with anti-abortion laws, women and girls have already been denied necessary medication, lifesaving, treatment, etc. All bc the meds *might* be used for abortion or could cause miscarriage. They are denying meds to women & girls who aren't even pregnant. Another problem is that removing an already dead fetus that didn't spontaneously eject upon death is considered an abortion. And many state laws don't have provisions for that because the legislators are unaware and do not care that its classified as abortion and can't be done and the mothers can die because of it. There are women being denied cancer treatment because of the laws. It doesn't matter that if the mother dies the fetus dies too, so long as the mother dies first. Some states have provisions for saving the mother's life or in the case of rape or incest, but not all. When treatment isn't outright denied, it can be delayed. Women can die while waiting for the lawyers to approve emergency treatment.

Not a popular opinion, but masks and vaccines are not the same as telling women/girls they can't get medical treatment. Masks can reduce chance of spreading viruses and vaccines can reduce the symptoms which reduces chance of hospitalization. It is for the safety of others as well as the patient. Where was the anti-vaccine outrage when girls as young as 12 in TX were being forced to get HPV vaccines to go to school? The same people who supported that are against vaccine mandates on themselves.

I remember when the leftwing people used to be opposed to vaccines bc they stupidly thought it causes autism all bc some greedy jerk lied and said the standard measles vaccine caused it bc he wanted to market his own vaccine and after it got confused with ALL vaccines and people started objecting, he came clean and admitted he lied about the study and completely fabricated everything to sell his vaccine but it backfired. Generations of gullible people now think that all vaccines can cause autism. As if autism is worse than death or something.
