Plans to help a friend move her stuff out of her narcissist ex-bf's house were canceled because his work was closed & he was home. She wants to get her stuff when he's not there bc he is verbally abusive to her and she doesn't want confrontation.
It got so cold the valve in my friend's shower froze and broke.
Outside hose bib ruptured and was leaking so we had no running water (bc of freezing weather). No shutoff at the bottom (it was the ONLY one with no shutoff). When I tried to turn the main shutoff to the house it was jammed (as was the main shutoff for all the water) & I lost my balance and fell on the pipes. They broke off & it has been too cold for the pvc cement to work to replace them. Most stuff broke off at places that require cutting entire fittings off. No store within 100 miles has the All Weather pvc cement that can be used in colder temps. Stores were also out of pipe insulation & insulation tape.
I was flossing between my back teeth and a chunk of my bottom left molar broke off (I suspect it was already loose since it had been feeling weird after I ate some popcorn).
Accidentally slammed my shoulder into the tp holder in the HomeDepot bathroom & couldn't move my arm for 10min & it's still sore.
I hadn't filled up any buckets of water before the freeze so we can't flush the toilets.
AC guy still never called back about coming out to fix the AC & I couldn't get ahold of a plumber in case I can't get the pipes fixed myself.

Many, many things run thru my head. But he gets most ticked when I find a stash and call the sheriff to pick it up. So he got up after awhile, called his sis at the burger place, and she drove in the driveway (just the driveway) and handed him a takeout box of food. He took that into his room and ate then slept till his buddies picked him up. They both showed up at 6:25 (dinner at 6:30), sat, ate the prime rib dinner I made, didn't say a word about it. Husband and the neighbor boy said it was all so good. They all sat in the family room while I cleaned up all the dishes, took out the trash, brought in 4 loads of wood. I guess that they were waiting to open one gift so they could leave. Had no idea. Oh well. Looking forward to next Christmas, really.
My new year is wrecked before it even starts.
The Blazer?
The Blazer, my toilet, the plumbing, two cats AWOL, gods only know what else. I may have to cancel my internet just to get by a few months.
We got our granddawg a few indestructible christmas present chew toys last night. Guaranteed indestructible! Very expensive ($28) as well. We presented the dog with this "way too much" expensive chew toy and within 5 minutes, that darn dog ate a hole in it. I'm taking it back!
The only thing Bear has not been able to chew up is his black Kong.
We have had good luck with "chuck it" balls, Teddy gets about a year out of one before it's mostly dead. That dog is either chewing one of his toys, eating, or is asleep.

One of the dog parks that I frequent has so many sh** stuffed toys there. Dogs immediately shred them and leave the stuffing all over. When I use for scooper to clean up, I find dog business with stuffing in it. Really not good! So when I get there, I do a survey to see what has been left there that is dangerous and easily destructed. I scoop and clean up as much as I can quickly.
People are so irresponsible. I have seen people standing, facing the direction of their dog, and turn their back immediately upon seeing their dog do its business. Then when a reasonable amount of time has passed, they turn back around, acting like they don't know their dog did its business and that they need to go clean up.
County Highway Department widen our road. Following winter their plowed snow took our mailbox off at ground level. Post was over 20 years old and rotten at ground level. I shoveled the snow away, augered a hole three feet further off the road, cemented a new post and reinstalled my mailbox.
Another snowfall, another county truck plowing snow and my plastic mailbox shattered beyond repair. OK. Mailbox was over 20 years old and the sun Brittled the plastic, County just helped it along. Post was still good so I bought another plastic mailbox and slid it over the post. I’m good for the rest of the winter.
First snow of this winter. Top half of my mailbox is missing. Found it in snow bank. County hit it with plowed snow, hit just right to pop the top away from dovetail slide on joint. Remove two screws, slide the top half onto the bottom and refasten with screws. Mailbox is good to go.
The next day the entire mailbox is laying in the ditch. This time the plowed snow hit is so hard it was torn off the post. I’m not happy, should have put a trail cam watching my mailbox so I can prove to the county what they have done. After a online search I have a new mailbox post and arm ordered. Arm is designed to move with an impact before swinging back into position. Plus I ordered a diamond plate aluminum mailbox. New post will be another 2 feet off the road.
If this doesn’t work I’ll seriously considered a steel reinforced solid concrete block structure with a mailbox in-bedded. Or get a Post Office in the closet town (wife is NOT in favor of this solution).

I have 5-gallon buckets hydraulic fluid comes in (for tractors). Here's the pup at 6months destroying one. Thankfully that phase was fairly short lived.
LOL!!! just as I typed those last words I heard the pup chewing on something. It's the brush attachment for the vacuum!!!
He's getting stir crazy trapped inside by all this cold, just like me. Bored out of my mind. The pup usually spends most of the evenings outside, chasing critters, cats, anything foolish enough to get within 100yds of the house or barns.
He's a working dog, high energy. But he's smart enough to stay out of the cold!

The Lazy L, I would be sooo ticked off in your situation. I've seen people build up bricks all around their mailboxes.
I hope you can find some way to prove the city is destroying it. & I hope they won't continue to destroy your boxes & knock them down. Have a friend who had the city worker who was mowing public lawn areas kick up a rock & it shattered the friend's side window. He reported it to the city & wanted reimbursement. The mayor sent cops over to threaten to arrest him for filing a false report (it was the mayor's employees from his gardening company that he runs & he gets paid with taxpayer $ for his business to mow public lawns). Said his options were to withdraw the report or go to jail. He withdrew the report & had to eat the cost.
Meanwhile, my two friends M (for the male friend) and A (for female friend) are having issues with obnoxious exes. M is the one I mention a lot who dumped his gf when the paternity test came back on her baby and it wasn't his. She refused to get out & it wasn't until the baby's father took the baby that he finally felt it was ok to kick her out completely. She kept deliberately "forgetting" stuff over there to have an excuse to come back. She dumped the toddler over there so she can use him as an excuse to come back. Meanwhile, A has been with a narcissist for years. He was her first serious bf & he's been verbally & emotionally abusive throughout. He has zero ambition & only cares about playing video games. He does love the pets, but cares about them more than her. At one point he told her if she couldn't give him a bio kid he'd dump her. After at least 5 miscarriages he was gaslighting her and acting like she was such a burden to him when she was the one who did all the cooking & cleaning and paid half the bills. When she finally broke up with him he didn't take it well. Accused her of cheating etc. When she told him she was depressed he told her that if she was going to kill herself to go out and do it in the woods alone or something so it wouldn't be in the trailer here he would find her body. She had to block him bc he was calling her screaming at her & texting her nasty things. He told his family she cheated on him (which is not true). He has friends and family around town looking for her bc he wants to confront her (after he followed her around town screaming at her when she left). She still has some of her stuff over there and has her cat. They have dogs but she knows he won't let her take the dogs purely out of spite. Unless they become too much of a burden for him to clean up after, then he might want her to take them. But even though he's never been violent with her (to my knowledge) she's afraid. She has anxiety issues and can't handle conflict well. She grew up in an abusive home and he's reminding her of her stepdad (who did physically abuse her). She was going to go to the store with me today but she ended up sitting on the floor curled in a ball crying bc she was upset about her ex sending flying monkeys after her. To add to it, M's ex found out that A was over there and started messaging her nonstop. She won't leave her alone. She's pretending to be her friend but she's really the super jealous type who is trying to sabotage any future relationship with my friend. She cased off multiple potential gfs before. She has her bf who is supporting her but she still wants to be able to get back with my friend. She doesn't want him to move on. She knows if he moves on there is zero chance she'll ever get him back. She's acting like his previous ex (who came pounding on his doors and windows screaming at him when he had another gf after breaking up with her). She also tried to sabotage the relationship with psyco ex but psycho ex had found her meal ticket & had her claws in deep.
I wish I knew how to fix things and make the narcissists leave my friends alone. As it is, I'm going to go over and get some of A's stuff for her so she doesn't have to deal with her ex. He knows me and if he tries to be a jerk to me, I'll have him on the ground. He has a *very* low pain threshold. All I'd have to do is pinch him.
Also, friend's shower valve cartridge broke and I gave him one out of an unboxed trim for my shower but I'm not sure if Delta will honor the warranty on the cartridge so I may have to buy one. Although, buying the entire trim is only $5 more than the price of the valve itself so I might have to buy a new trim set instead.
Update: A's ex showed up at M's house to talk to A and actually talked it out instead of yelling. He knew M would beat the crap out of him otherwise. He's calming down a bit it seems. I think he may let her come get her stuff without confrontation. It seems like he was just freaking out. They've been together since 2014 I believe. It's the longest relationship either of them had. I'm hoping we can all remain amicable at least.

The water unthawed, every pipe here and in the other trailer is ruptured, my car is toast and I'll be several months without internet, I'm soaking wet and freezing because there's water standing on the floor. I'm headed out to my Aunt's place in a bit as soon as I get changed and all this canned stuff back out of harm's way and into my thermal boxes. Funny thing. I'm not even pissed. A lot of my stuff will survive, but I'm starting over in hard times, and that's going to suck, BUT I have food and a lot of my clothes were in bins, so that's good. I'll have knives and guns to dry here in a bit, so I'm going to be busy. every time I reboot my life, I come back meaner and stronger.

Someone recently told me about their dog destroying a Kong. I have never seen it happen even with the most destructive dogs.
I used the Kong for 9 years with my police dog, and never destroyed it, but I've heard of dogs biting the top part off, and choked on it.

Magus, sending virtual hugs and good vibes your way. I hope you can get stuff fixed up. Things are going ok with M & A. A went and got her stuff and her cat but he won't let her take the dogs.
We're waiting for the proverbial crap to hit the fan when her ex realizes she's now dating M. Also waiting for it to really sink in with M's ex bc she is a psycho & will do everything she can to harass them. He may have to get a restraining order and have to make arrangements to meet at a neutral location when the toddler changes hands.
I went out and got the hose bib all fixed up. Was able to use the old faucet part but put an elbow and some extra pipe in between. Got it all nicely wrapped up in insulation. Waited a few hours and turned the shutoff on. Nothing. No water. Not sure if there is some blockage somewhere or what the problem is. I'm now thinking that maybe that pipe is actually connected to the outside water and maybe one of the shutoffs (that were off) was not working properly. I don't know. I'm now going to have to replace both of those shutoffs and patch stuff together with PEX. Need to get a few more pex fittings I think.
Also, my shoulder is still somewhat frozen & doesn't have as much range of motion as I'd like. I can't lift a bottle or glass to my mouth with that arm-- it stops a few inches shy and I have to dip my head down to reach. I had my mom try to rotate my shoulder for me earlier and it didn't hurt but I could feel pulling. Going to have to talk to my doctor about it. Can't get an MRI without insurance though and don't know if I can afford physical therapy. Might ask A what her physical therapist did to help with her shoulder. Shoulder and arm were really bugging me last night and this morning. Feeling a little better right now.

Another complaint I forgot is that my internet keeps going out every 30seconds to 20 minutes. Sometimes more frequently. Not sure what is going on right now.
But I'm having trouble liking, posting, etc bc it keeps dropping. The Visibility tab says no obstructions but it keeps saying it is obstructed or network problem or "no signal". Ugh. It costs $110 a month for this internet and its pretty much the only thing that works out here.

Not sure if any one here remembers the BS I went through with the ebay buyer who tried to screw me. Well, I blocked the buyer and had ebay backing me up on my right not to refund the shipping costs since I would have eaten the money of I had to refund it because they "changed their mind". Nothing bad from the buyer so all was good.
Until tonight. For the past few days I have had offers made on the same doll by an account that seems to be located in the same city. It is an active selling account on ebay so I treated the offers as legit and declined for being too low. Well they decided to buy the doll out right after all their offers were declined. I opened the shipping info to get ready to ship the doll out tomorrow and see the same name and address as the scammer from before. I refunded 100% of the money claiming there is a problem with their shipping info (P.O. box) and blocked the account. I reported the account as the scammer and hopefully ebay will do something about it.
I relisted the doll. I also messaged them through the ebay system asking them not to bid/buy my items again.

OMG! It just got 'real'! The buyer sent me messages asking me to send the item to them since they paid. Then they sent a message saying they are filing a claim I am a racist because I refuse to send the item to them because they are black!
I called ebay and spoke to their protections department about this message and they will be taking action (they claim) against this buyer for the threats.
