In these days of protesters, looting, and buring buildings. I think I need to get a supersoaker for home defense.... Load that puppy up with 90+% hand sanitizer and spray all those dirty looters down.... Now light your frickin fireworks!

And, I think that it's alright for the police, swat, and national guard to kneel when facing those protesters...

I think I would not call that a 'supersoaker. I would reserve that term for an M60 cleaner, or maybe as an alternative term for the implement otherwise known as a 'street cleaner'. The street cleaner I am trying to remember the details of is a pellet energizing device capable of full auto cleansing.

Personally, I have no particular beef with 'demonstrators', long as they are behaving. (Which includes not blocking traffic.)

Back when I had 40 hens and sold a lot of eggs, I bought styrofoam egg cartons in bulk for $00.27 each.

Now the cheapest I could find are $00.45 each if I buy 500 cartons. I had planned to sell my excess eggs, about 6 dozen a week, to a little produce stand who would resell them. It would take me 83 weeks to use up 500 cartons. I have to wait 3 weeks if I order now.

I was only going to charge $2 a carton to the produce stand, basically the price of 1/2 a bag of chicken feed each week. Now I’ll lose $2.70 of that to cartons.

The price of egg cartons is too damn high!

I would save all kinds of plastic throwaway containers to put eggs in to sell. Sold ours at $3 a dz and would sell out. It wasn't unusual to see a stack of egg cartons left on our front porch. The local thrift store here has them on the counter for free, people bring them in. Put the word out that you need them, Peanut, and you'll get some for free.

A very testy preschooler that we have at our school had a horrible, horrible day yesterday. In my office 3 times. Hitting, spitting, throwing stuff, disrespectful to his teacher. Mom picks up at 5:30 and we tell her about his day and he cannot have a treasure from the treasure box. Try again tomorrow. Tomorrow is a new day. She reaches in and grabs a few bubble gums and gives it to him on the way out.
And that is what is wrong with the brats that are now in their 20s and 30s and destroying this country.

Already put the word out. If I can come up with 7 cartons a week it'd save me a lot of time and trouble. I'm going to call my neighbor who has about 50 hens right now. I know she buys cartons in bulk. Maybe I can get a few from her. I may go ahead and order some new ones. I can get 250 for .52 cents each. Just to have on hand as a back up.

What the heck happened to cutting boards? They used to have a slot at one end for a handle. Mine (4 boards/2sizes) hung neatly on the wall above a counter prep area.

Now almost none have slots, most are super thin making them difficult for me to pick up when lying flat after use. I have to buy a holder for them instead of hanging them on pegs I mounted on the wall.

I’ve been using the same type cutting boards for 25 years. Now I can’t find them for sale anywhere. I really hate it when they “improve” items that worked perfectly fine the way they were!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I found 3 last week the same thickness as what I've been using. Between a drill, jigsaw and a dremel tool they now have slots.

I bought a package of flexible cutting boards that we use all the time. They are easy to store easy to clean and we bought a package of 10 different sizes for $5.
If we are cutting veggies and then cut meat we just get another board, no worries about cross-contamination.
After cutting something up you can just curl the plastic and scrape everything into the pan or the trash.
We have 1 very heavy cutting board made of bamboo that I use more for a carrying tray.

Tried the flexible boards for a while.
After a few months, the corners started curling up (we were storing them flat).
Turn them over and you're cutting on top of a bubble. :(
Bought a second set and stored them vertically between cookie sheets. Same problem.

Now I have a 3 pack of reversible Bamboo cutting boards that are solid, flat as a board (pun intended), and they don't care how they're stored.

I have a couple of wood ones seem to last forever. Got the wife some of those thick white ones, discovered that they stick to the stove top when wife forgets it's still hot :( What a mess. I am getting ready to add a butcher block countertop on the kitchen project, the cabinet base is just under 5' long, I ordered an 8' unfinished butcher block top, I figure with a drill, a saw, and a router I can have 2 18"X24" butcher block cutting boards (>1" thick) that I can sand down and resurface whenever I need to. Bet they outlast me and the Mrs. ;)

They still do if you don't mind picking the spinters out of your throat! We have one made of maple but that was almost$100 a board 20 year ago when we bought it.

I'm just getting tired of being ticked off at the imbeciles who cancel everything in my state.
School sports ( they have a formula for deciding if the teams can meet and have a game)
Heck even in person school is up for grabs and depends on what color the county is on their little stupid map
The County Fair was "virtual". Really?
Our local Heritage Festival is cancelled.
I haven't heard if the Applebutter Festival is cancelled or not.
Also haven't seen anything about the week long Apple Harvest Festival we have here every year. Dances, auctions, the Queen is crowned, theres a parade and a crafts fair.
Now this morning they've cancelled the Christmas parade for my area. Its not until December!!!! Good grief!
I will bet you money that Trick or Treat will be cancelled.
This whole thing is getting ridiculous and quite honestly its getting disgusting at how people just kow-tow to the cancellations.
When will people be fed up with it all?

okay rant off lol

History tells us that people never get ired of it and thats why aand how empires fall. First they fightand slave to build it then they get comfortable, lazybring in low wage workers who build up numbers who eventually rebel for bigger piece of the pie. Ends in a bloody war.

Rant:
Found online adorable cute tiny critters of all kinds, for sale. Baby critters and adult critters. They are bred to make them as miniature as possible and then sold for humans to have as pets. Critters from anywhere and everywhere.
This is a very bad idea.
One of the kids had a Russian dwarf hamster as a pet. They live barely beyond 18 months (which is probably normal for that size of a critter), are smaller than average hamsters, and adorable. They also act like terrorist wild animals and bite good and hard. Little @*%$#!+"!

I must have some Hindu in me somewhere because I see no sense in tortoring anythinf, including bugs [maybe fire ants, lol] Kill the things and be done with it!
Don't breed animals to a liftime of suffering!

Now I'm PETA certified! Some hens I will not own they are so unhealthy they can't even stand up on their feet. No way in hell do I want to eat them or their eggs.

Just curious if others have experienced the same… For me, service and deliveries from UPS has been good, even after covid. Fedex on the other hand seems to have gone down hill over the last year. I live in a very rural area so deliveries for me aren’t like folks living in the city. I tell folks I live so far out in the country I have to go towards town to hunt!

This week I had two orders out. One coming ups, the other fedex. Ups was a few days early I got everything yesterday instead of after the holiday, good service. Fedex had only 1 item to deliver, a box of 150 egg cartons.

The driver reported that he/she/it left the box on my front porch at 11:22am on Thursday. That did not happen. I called the carton company Friday morning and reported same. Around 11am a fedex “investigator” called. He had all sorts of questions, wanted a description of my house, was anyone home etc.

Sometime today somebody left my box by my mailbox, didn’t notice until late afternoon. I don’t know if someone got my box by mistake and left it here or a fedex person left it there. There was no note or any indication as to who left it.

I’ll call the carton company Tuesday and let them know I got it. I don’t know if I’ll hear from fedex again.

This is just one of many such problems with fedex. These days I cringe when I order something and see fedex is the delivery method.

Peanut GedX and UPS at least bring our packages up to the gate.Sometimes they even open it andddrop packages inside, but there is a sign 'Beware of Dogs'. Use to be "Foeget The Dog,Beware of Owners '

Wife's clutter. The two spare bedrooms are full of it. Youngest son and family came to visit. Wife moved the clutter to her sister's, a girlfriend and filled up the car. I made the mistake of suggesting the last load she store in the garage temporarily. Four weeks later she finds the time to get her clutter out of the garage. She put it in the dinning room and living room. Too much trouble to carry it back up stairs to the spare bedrooms. Tomorrow she's hosting a Birthday party. Yep, clutter ot moved back out into the garage.

Peanut.....FedEx sucks here too. One time I ordered a kettlebell and they threw it in the woods at the end of the driveway. I noticed it when I went to get the mail one day, wondering what garbage someone had thrown out of their car. I could not believe it was my package. We have a circle driveway, so it's super easy for delivery people to get in and get out. It seems the FedEx drivers are always different every time. UPS and USPS are always the same people and offer great service.

So my son and his family moved from Southern CA. The new place is about 10 hrs away. The plan was they would stay with friends for a month or 2. The only thing they asked of us was to take thier dogs for a " month or 2". Well after getting off work and driving all night we call to tell them we are here. Then the DIL gives us a different address. When we get there they inform us they got an apartment with no dogs and a 6 month lease. I am no actor and could not hide my level of cranky when I said 6 months! Oh and we never realized until now just how unruly thier dogs are. They haven't killed the cat, pooped in the house or ate the furniture but that goes along with the rest of thier behavior. The male is an escape artist. Now the backyard looks like something out of Jurasic park. By some miracle I made this post without swearing.😡

Our UPS and FEDEX delivery people are very good. We get express refrigerated meds every 3 days by FEDEX and they are very good at putting it on the covered porch. I am always getting heavy packages; flat packs, doors, tires, car parts, tools, steel, brass and lead. When I was putting in my engine, the UPS guy stopped by one time and said," I always hate seeing a package going to your house, they are usually 2 man heavy. But I am also curious as to what you are working on this week."
