Gary the reasons for the 2nd world war be many we’d probably have to go to back to the 1st world war. The armistice was supposed to be just and fair to all. Who could really be blamed for the 1st world war as it was like a domino effect amongst the Axis and allied alliances. With the fateful fuse being lit by the hidden hand with the assassination at Sarajevo in 1914 of the archduke Franz Ferdinand future heir to the Austria-Hungarian empire along with his wife Duchess Sophie. Tragically with the communist uprisings and unrest in Germany at the time of the armistice the Allies took advantage of this abusing that with the later agreement of Versailles in June 1919. Loss of all colonial lands, chunks of Germanys territory taken to create other buffer nations out of her homeland. Germanys navy sunk or seized and her army vastly reduced along with being made to accept complete responsibility for starting the war. And on top of that retribution payments to the Allies which were astronomical in what the allies demanded financially. Evaluating all that . Germany was well on the way to a slow death and all the world for that matter as it turned out later as well. . You could say Hitler was born at Versailles.
