looks like I missed some conversations during my break....lol....as we all know it takes a person bent on causing harm to hurt and kill people with any weapon....there are hundreds of different kinds of semi-automatic rifles built or brought into the U.S. and any number of them can do the same damage.....the AR15 is easy to get and cheap especially after Trump was elected....the AR15 is not the problem....I will be keeping mine.....

Totally agree...but I'm also a realist. I don't want it to happen, but at this point, I think it will be inevitable. I know too many otherwise intelligent people who think it's a fine idea to ban them all. And that is only going to grow as these incidents increase, and they will.
We are being set up and played for fools. Have you seen the info about the poster kid for the anti-gun marches? He's the kid of a former FBI guy, aspiring journalist, and obviously coached and rehearsed for Pete's sake! (if you find it before they remove it, there's even video of him going over lines before his "interview"...) I really hate being right about this...believe me...it sucks big time, watching the country get suckered like this, and knowing this agenda is being bought by the blood of our kids...but it is a devious yet foolproof plan folks.

Its not one sided . There are thoes that will try to use any tragedy to push their Globalist agenda but there are many others that will not let the hysteria after a tragic event influence life changing decisions.

I could care less about bump stocks and such junk but I don't want to see anything banned over the actions of a criminal . This may happen but I do not see a AR15 bann or magazine bann coming . No One gets everything they want . But Conservatives will save more than Liberals will gain on this subject .

A newscaster on CNN brought up a truly excellent point with regards to banning the AR15:
Matt Caldwell (Republican, FL), proposed and got a bill passed declaring pornography a public health threat, yet refused to entertain a bill debating assault weapons.
So...porn is more dangerous to society than assault weapons.
Mind you, I'm not saying that I agree with the newscaster (Brooke Baldwin), but she does make an excellent point.

The AR 15 is not an assault weapon. Assault weapons are already illegal.
The AR 15 is just another semi-automatic rifle that can have a magazine. Just as many hunting rifles.
Being black and scary looking does not make a gun an "assault weapon".

"Assault Rifle" has a very specific definition: "An assault rifle is a selective-fire rifle that uses an intermediate cartridge and a detachable magazine."

Great time to buy a AR . That may change with higher demand and prices go back up .
It's already gone up here, if one can even find them in stock, 5.56 ammo has gone up too, wife purchased IMI 420rnd can of green tip for $119 from Midwayusa, that same can of ammo gone up to $209, all the Federal 55gr/62gr in 420rnd cans that were on-sale have gone off sale with price increases, not as high as IMI but noticeably higher, 30rnd magazines are starting to climb in prices, our local Cabelas were out of the magazines as our local gun stores, Starting to look like 2013 and 2016 all over again.
Glad I ain't ( Lacking ) .
Wife been buying 1 can a month for the past 2yrs to add to what we already have

I have a friend in Florida,the last I heard he was sitting on 1/2 million rounds of ammo,,,,,they ever find it they will lock him up and throw away the key

We do a lot of shooting here, some of my sons Law Enforcement buddies come up to shoot and we always supply the ammo but on average we keep around 10k just for shooting practice and that's what she purchases for.

I doubt that I have 500 rounds of ammo around here,but to be honest I don't think there will ever be a need for a large amount ,I just hunt and sometimes go to the range to sight in a rifle
with all the crap going on right now I do plan on getting enough to last me the rest of my hunting days,even going over board I won't have 2500 rds on the property,,,,

I have a new rifle coming and I have only 16rds for the gun,,,that will not do,,,,20ga ammo will always be around but 223 may get to be scarce so I would like to have at least 100o rds on hand for it,most of it will still be here when I die

YEARS ago, when we were little kids, my friends dad did some car work for a guy, who traded him an "Egyptian rifle" and a bunch of "hot" rounds for it of unknown origin, suspected hand loads.
It is this rifle:
This thing is a shoulder destroyer. I have fired it until the front of the stock was putting off smoke! The oil will literally come out of the stock and make it slippery.
Whatever these rounds are, they just look like regular rounds and I don't know how to tell if it's a handload or not they look no different. But no one else will shoot the gun lol. So my buddy has like 8 or 9 ammo cans in a back room, that will be there when we are all long dead.
This is the only gun that has ever actually bruised my shoulder, a big black and blue swath from laying on top of a pickup and having that metal buttplate just eat my shoulder alive. The men that toted these over hill and dale, and fired hundreds of round in battle were just tough, I can't believe it sometimes. I don't think my AR would hurt my shoulder if it was belt fed!
This things takes stripper clips, so I suppose it wouldn't be affected by any ban. But let me tell you, after doing it a few 20 times, you can get bullets in there fast if you don't care about the side of your thumb. How many guns like this are unregistered, sitting in back rooms, and storage units in the US? Bans wont work.

This Egyptian rifle is a Hakim. It was based on a Swedish design, and the Egyptians chambered it for the 8mm Mauser round.
It sees spotty service even now by partisans and terroristsin places like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc..
The rifle is very accurate for a semi auto and is easy to reload, but it does have a reputation for being unreliable and ifor frequent malfuntions.
I believe it saw front line service in the late 40s to the 1950s, but I could be wrong.

The rifle was (still is, he still has it) an FN 49, chambered in strangely enough .30-06. It wasn't in grade A condition when he got it, and he did like a home blueing job on it. It's...ok looking.
It's really small, but still fairly heavy. I never understood why an Egyptian model FN would be chambered in .30-06, never made sense.
If you ride the front of the bullets when you load the clip, they splay out and it doesn't work well, and if press down right at the back they go in really slick but the stripper clips are sharp.
If I didn't have the AR, I would try to get it, but then it would just sit around at my house never being used, so...

Nope, you got the picture right. And Egypt did order some of these, but in 8mm Mauser. I think the 30-06 version was for the Belgian Military, Luxembourg, Belgian Congo, and Colombia. Browning imported a few to the U.S. in 30-06 commercially but they had checkered stocks and rollover cheekpieces. Venezuela bought them in 7mm Mauser, and Argentina bought them in 7.65mm Mauser.
I was wrong about the model of rifle, and should have looked up details before running my mouth (or keyboard) and making myself look stupid.
