Bill Gates has warned governments to prepare for smallpox terror attacks and future pandemics by investing billions into research and development.

If the govt doesn't split the country, the people will. I think we will start seeing people moving into areas based on political stances. In Portland everyone is wearing a mask. Where I am outside of the city, it's about half (even in stores), and I am betting half of the half still wearing them is doing only because it is the law.

I think you’re right that people will start moving. I have a good doc friend who is very left leaning, living here on the red side of the state and she is talking about moving her practice to the west side - either Portland or Seattle.

Being in the country is where it’s at. I’m nervous with our new property being 20 miles outside the city, but I can’t really have that long of a commute with my hours and the snow, it’s too dangerous. I’ve been living in my RV to get closer and that’s just not sustainable long term either.

I think it will look like Kenosha in the beginning. The rabid mobs will be hungry and poor, and feeling entitled to take or destroy YOUR possessions. When they come to take YOUR things, they will find some Kyle Rittenhouses waiting. There will be people on the left who scream we have to take away guns from all of the "white supremacists" (but not the criminals on the left, because they are just), and when the police come for guns, they will find people not willing to give them up without a firefight. It will devolve pretty quickly from there, because many cops and military will not go along with it. My best guess.

I'm sure you will quickly come to appreciate your 20 mile buffer, no matter your living arrangement.
