The whole turkey, when you are poor & hunger all the time you learn to like many different taste.
So I start with white, but will eat any part of the turkey Or a ham.
Cranberry Jelly.
Dressing in a pan or stuffing in the turkey???

Do you cook it before stuffing the turkey??
I make the stuffing the night before or early in the morning. Sauté onions in plenty of butter (almost an obscene amount), add in celery, the Garfunkel herbs. Prepare the bread by wetting (not soggy but moist) it and tearing into pieces. Add in an egg or two (depending on amount). When the sautéed veg is cool mix into the bread and add chopped apple.

Get the bird all cleaned and seasoned. Pack the big cavity and neck cavity using one of the moistened heels of the bread to seal it and roast.

Good ol' Jersey white bread stuffing! 😉
I had a cousin who would use the Pepperidge Farms stuffing cubes and cook it outside the bird. I never understood that. That group wouldn’t eat the stuffing I made because being cooked in the bird it could give you tomaine poisoning or something :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I do cubed (left out to get hard) white bread, finely sliced celery, finely diced onion, sage, and a few other herbs, and I beat two eggs and mix it all together. I add a little oil to a large pan and slightly saute it so it's not sitting in the bird totally 'raw' for the first little bit of cooking! I'm still here to tell about it!!

Her husband was excited to my stuffing—reminded him of his mother’s.

I prefer stuffing, but usually make dressing. This is because I like to smoke a heavily peppered butter-injected turkey breast for thanksgiving. I do however make my dressing with homemade turkey bone broth so I believe it's almost as good as stuffing.
