Good thing tastes are different. Wineyard snails in a delicious herbal garlic butter whitewine sauce. F****ng DELICIOUS!
I love oysters and caviar! But I do know what you mean about the texture, and can't argue that point. I'll be remembering that visual the next time I eat some raw oysters! When I lived in Central Asia I ate a lot of stuff that they called food, like; stuffed intestine (stuffed with what, I have no idea), horse tongue, sheep eyes, fermented camel milk, fish heads, and other unidentified (animal?) body parts. Even English food was a treat after that!Yup, snails were as nasty as I imagined. Oysters are kind of like eating a lugie as well. I've had them at least ten times, but can't get over the gag reflex when they slide down your throat. I've even had the expensive kinds of caviar, which are disgusting too. I get that a sailor got shipwrecked once. Ok, he had to survive and eat whatever was available. But at some point he was rescued. He should have gone back to eating civilized food at some point!
I'm pretty adventurous with food and love trying new things, but some things just make you gag! My attitude is if you don't try new things then you'll never get to have a new favorite. .I love oysters and caviar! But I do know what you mean about the texture, and can't argue that point. That sounds like something my wife would go nuts over. Me, not so much. My favorites are cherry cheese cake and key lime pie.True you need flavour and texture in all foods so perhaps a chocolate mouse cake with tampered chocolate walls. When you cut through a nice fluffy cake liquid chocolate runs out of it and you hear the crisp of Belgium chocolate in your mouth. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.
Only?! That's like 45 pounds! I lost close to 30 lbs. since April. No more work related stress, plus now I have time to hit the gym every day.Damn I only lost twenty kilos.
Years ago I played around with making arrowheads out of obsidian, and got pretty good at it too. At the time I lived in an area with lots of obsidian around. Recently I've been giving it some thought about making a bow and start knapping arrowheads again.i'm currently working on making some arrow heads out of bone. I've got bodkins in stock, and some flint arrowheads(I don't live in a flint area) and I've got broadheads but I figure it would be good to be able to make my own arrowheads out of natural materials post SHTF.
what about some bird feathers? I usually find a few lying around on my walks.Yea I have a bamboo field so I could simply sharpen them and put in the holes for accuracy though without the feathers it's gonna be harder to aim.
View attachment 4598 Almost done with the exterior, if I survive anyways! Looks like it was always there. Still needs another coat of paint on the siding and the trim, but at least it's coming along.
Thanks, I may actually finish it before I die! It's been a work in progress for ten years almost now. What a beautiful home.
