@Pearl I sure hope you don't get any cracked trees or fallen branches. I've got some skinny tall worthless oaks around the house...hope they stay put too. Honestly have never gone through a power outage because of an ice storm, as far as I can remember. knock on wood. Plenty of ice storms though.
Three or four years ago we were out for 4 1/2 days. We can do it, but would rather not!!

We are in the midst of it. Yesterday we got 1/2 inch of ice and a couple inches of snow on top of it. Temp is currently 15, and we are supposed to get another 3-5" of snow. It is definitely Winter.

P.S. The dogs were NOT happy about going outside this morning. It is still coming down pretty hard.

@hashbrown , y'all got snow , we got freezing rain.
We suppose to get snow this evening and tonight.

That is pretty. I remember taking my little .410 out and rabbit tracking in the snow , in West KY, when I was a boy

Stay warm and safe.

Jim

We got freezing rain yesterday snow came last night. We have to go shovel Alexandra's mom and dad out this afternoon. When I was a kid every snow that came we were out rabbit hunting. With no one trapping anymore the coyotes are so thick you rarely see a rabbit here anymore.

I was going to tell you to drag that avatar picture over a little, your wife is beautiful, what a smile!!

For all the ice that everyone is getting, do you use de-icer on your walks? I keep a 5 gallon bucket of it on my front porch. Someone did tell me that it is hard on concrete, but I don't have concrete walkways. Mine are all flagstone, from 100 years ago. Maybe de-icer is hard on flagstone as well, but I haven't seen any damage, other than when a tree guy dropped a branch and cracked it. jerk

We have some on hand, but rarely use it. Will warm up in two days and melt it. We used it last year when we had nearly two weeks below freezing. I use my snake killing scrapers to scrape the ice off the walks!

We use de icer. The grandkids know the drill to clear a path from the door to the truck, and clear off the truck. Then they salt the path. Bummer is, it all gets drug in. The kids are pretty good about leaving their boots outside, but husband just came in and his shoes, the wheels on the walker drug in snow and salt. Made the mopping I did this morning a waste of time. A sunny 12 degrees out right now. I think that's as good as it gets today.

Just tiny sleet here and some wind. Husband insisted that I take him to bank in town south of us so he could deposit a transfer of funds. 34 when we left. Took interstate highway to go and come. Back in hour and temperature dropped to 32. Think it is 29 now and will continue to drop. Did feed cows before I left. Some ice is forming with the mix of rain and sleet. Don’t want to mess up kitchen in case power goes out so I am trying to let my bread maker mix and rise bread and then bake in oven. Stay warm all

Rained all day here so far. In the low 40's.
Tonight after midnight supposed to switch over to freezing rain then sleet then snow with the temps dropping all day tomorrow
