Another winter storm for West KY.
26 degrees outside.
Been sleeting since5 pm.
Ground is 1/2" deep with sleet .
Changing over to freezing rain by morning.

I'm so tired of this winter.

Staying home tomorrow.
Have canceled everything for tomorrow.

You can blame us Texans again, sending it your way!!😉

After last February 11, 2021, pile-up of vehicles and trucks on a major highway overpass in the DFW area (TX), due to cold temps and ice, I hope precautions are being taken to prevent a repeat. Six people died and dozens more were injured. Some of the deceased were medical personnel on their way to work in the hospital district.
There were quite a few accidents today from the ice. I still don’t understand why Texas roads departments don’t use more salt, more snow plows. It’s wimpy efforts.

It was crazy on the Dallas/Ft.Worth roads today! That brine treatment they put down days ahead of bad weather does NOTHING, better off putting sand over the ice. They used to sand years ago, then someone had the "let's put salt water down" idea! Here we are at 1am, the storm system that is supposed to be here by 3am is still in New Mexico. Will we get another round of ice?

It is 23 and we have about a half inch of ice on the ground. Suppose to snow all day but only 3-5" expected. Not going anywhere. I hate Winter more and more every year.

Beautiful clear blue sky and sunrise this morning.....

Well, DFW is getting all the ice...they can have it!!! I have a nice glaze on everything and walking was hazardous this morning! Road is covered so not going anywhere. Donkeys are fed and watered, outside cats are full and happy, I'm drinking coffee!!! Watching the slip and slide drivers on the local news!

76 degrees on my porch at 5pm. Front supposed to be through by midnight, more rain. I just drove across the swamp, the river is 20ft out of it's banks. The entire swamp is underwater, ridge to ridge. The weatherman just gave flash flood warnings... pretty much everywhere. I'm 300ft above the flood plane, no worries for me.

Highs tomorrow in the low 40's, brrr.

Last night was in the high 20s with a freezing rain, it is in the low 30s now and the rain is continuing. The forecast is for the rain to clear out around noon and the temperatures to rise to 50 before the day is over... The weekend weather calls for 20s at night and highs in the low 40s, no moisture.
