rain, rain go away! The really unstable air seems south of Tuskaloosa. Thats where the real tornado threat is... But I'm under the tornado watch until 11pm.

I don't think I'm in danger, expect soaking rains the rest of the night.

Tornado on the ground a little closer to me now, just north of Eutaw al. Used to haul cattle just to the south of there.

It should pass about 50m from me in 20min. No one should drive I-20/59 between Meridian ms and Tuskaloosa al.

Early reports... these nado's are rain wrapped. No one can see them coming. A lot of debris...

Today was so nice. While we were eating a late dinner at a full table with a windows open, it started rolling in. Got to the car around 9 p.m. to drive out about 15 miles it was 53°. Left that location it was 43° about 20 minutes later.
Hoping all in the paths of these storms are kept safe. I can't even imagine having to go through as many threats of tornadoes as some of you do.

You stay safe @snappy1 n Sup n zanne.

The tornado south of me fell apart as it approached moundville al. This is the 5th or 6th bad storm that's fell apart at approximately the same latitude line. There's a boundary where the fronts meet that's not letting the bad stuff go north.

The nado watch for me expired. There'll still be heavy bands of rain but I think the bad stuff is over.

"Stupid" question, but what people do in a tornado other the pray a lot.

This is comfy winter weather. It's easy to dress for and easy for getting outside work like stacking wood done. Nasty doing that in 90°+ weather.

It's also perfect for skating, tobogganing, cross country skiing and toasting stuff on sticks while sitting on stumps and Christmas tree hunting.

It's also warm enough for it to snow, but it's a nice light fluffy snow. Not the heavy wet stuff that collapses roofs. Speaking of which, I need to go out and shovel and stack some more wood. Wish you were here, in a good way.

Wild night for a lot of folks. Haven't had time too look at news report. Hopefully no deaths from the storms.
We had 2.02" of rain. 57 this morning and temps dropping a little thru the day
No deaths , but someone in Alabama got the piano from the local church delivered to his front yard:)....

Edit: Not the right pic, but that is what the video I watched this morning looked like. Still searching for the right one.

Looks like someone's rent it going up. Apartments with a view bring a premium.

This was the Eutaw nado I posted about last night. This nado stayed on the ground for about 30minutes. Probably a big ef2 or small ef3.

I'm fine here... storm damage both north and south of me. Nothing but a few leaves in my yard.

High 30s, partly cloudy, light breezes, occasional snow flake. No snow on the ground. Regular deer season ended last Sunday at sundown, essentially no snow on the ground this season. 70 years ago that that would be unusual, close to rare. We hunters would be complaining about not having "tracking snow" for tracking down wounded deer. Snow shows drops of blood way better than leaf litter. Quite a few of us were carrying elderly lever actions chambered in 32-20 or 32-40 Winchester. that usually didn't knock 'em down to stay, even with a good lung shot. I've trailed a gutshot deer that moved as I pulled the trigger for two days. Oops, this is a weather thread. Oh well . . .

Forecast called for rain today, a 60% chance, but I'm not seeing it... the weather guessers have been screwing up lately, yeah? Sun is shining and there aren't that many clouds, pfffft. Forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high of 66* F on Tuesday, which sounds good for riding in the mountains, but I dunno whether to believe it, lol. Maybe the rain will still arrive later today... guess I'll putter around the home & property until I know for sure whether a day is good for riding the monster thumper.
