I think we got down to 19° last night, (what I saw at my 5am pee).
But the constant 20mph north wind is what really bites. :(
A beautiful full sun is quickly melting our ice-stuff.

Three inches of snow total, so far since Friday. It looks like we are done getting snow for a while. It was a dry fall, so it all helps.

Woke to warmer temps this morning. Depending on where you look, it is 8 degrees or 19 degrees. Wind chill is lower, of course.

It seems that school districts are closed for many miles. The eastern plains and especially northeast Colorado still have negative temperatures.

When I was teaching for Denver (DPS), it was a rare day for a day off, or for late start or early closing. I remember two early closing days. They tried to keep schools open for working parents and for breakfast and lunch for children who would not have had anything to eat at home. I'm not sure what changed about that, maybe enough law suits against DPS due to expecting children to be out in frigid weather. Recess on those cold and snowy days was held in the gymnasium. Sometimes they played a movie in the library. Since that was my lunch half hour, I only had to escort my students there.

At noon Tuesday, part high overcast and 4F... Predicted 10 / -10F until next Monday, then predicted 30/10F for that whole week... Will see..

Now this is funny, I don't care who you are...
Yes, and when you are living where it is really cold and have had a big snow storm, you can see how someone like this might be complaining as well! If you don't have this very often, it is bothersome!

it is down right warm out here -5c / 21 f and a really light snow, the kind that packs to a thin layer of ice on the roads

We made it to 20°, and it's sunny😃😃😃!! Teens tonight, starting to warm up!!🙄! Have I mentioned that I miss summer!?
Well, we finally made it above freezing for a few hours (33.4°):woo hoo:.
I thought this was interesting, the sun shining on the roof of the neighbor's shed melted the ice, but then the freezing wind froze it back into icicles before it could escape.
This is not something you see in Louisiana!

We would always have winter weather, but this is the fourth year in a row for artic air, thankfully not accompanied by ice in my area! It would be nice to NEVER see it again!! But if we do, I'll share!!😉

Yes... Many times, even if you can get to Mc Bride or Kelowna doesn't mean you can get out again, let alone up or down the Caribou... Luckily we have good roads, streets yet... Again today 5/-15F forecast through the weekend... All take care.. eh...

Yesterday it was around 18°F at night (when I got up to pee-- don't remember what time). Waterlines are frozen. Don't know if anything ruptured but the temps never got above freezing yesterday. Thermostat says its 15°F out right now. I regret that I was too sick to prep for the cold and protect the pipes before it hit.

My water was dripping but the line to my terlet is frozen.
Bummer, looks like a trip down under with a pex crimper is in my future

We finally got appropriate weather for our area the last day or two. This morning it's 14* yesterday we had snow overnight (about 3 inches) then on to freezing rain and 29* . It's wicked icy this morning. Went through a whole 5 gallon bucket of ice melt between the building and dad's property next door.

We have also warmed up. Almost 25° warmer (?) than yesterday.
Got snow last night with more ice and snow forecasted for the rest of the week.

Here is a tip for the ° sign. Hold the alt key and type 0176.
* works too and it's easier to remember.
Thank you - on typewriters it used to be where the asterisk is.

We had a high of 48 degrees today. When it is cold I wear a fleece jacket and then another jacket over it. Today I was able to go out in just the fleece for a while. Woo hoo!

I have never been able to get this to work.
