Checked the gulf water temps (engine that gives hurricanes power). They haven't gone above 90f yet. Too cold for monsters to live, but a cat 1 or 2 might make land fall.

Found this on the net, more accurate than my memory. We get june/july storms, but the numbers really kick up when the gulf water temp gets hot in late august.

It happened at end of August ..did unroot some of my huge pine trees in 2011
no power for 1 week

My friend GEORGE did write Irene with his chainsaw on a tree that broke
he did help me with the clean up outside ...was horrible

Now they show digital maps in bright red with little blazing suns and people running to their A/C in fear of HEAT STROKE!

Beryl is headed straight for my 2 favorite vacation spots: Cayman Islands and Jamaica.
I can't wait to see videos of Jamaicans hanging onto trees yelling: "No problem mon!!!".
