Serious CTG (cloud to ground) lightening had us unplugging stuff in a hurry.
It passed just to the south of us dropping 1.56" of rain in 40 minutes.
Watched 3 fire trucks heading south right after it passed.
Somebody took a direct hit.
Weren't us!

89° at 9:30 p.m. Very muggy. Just yuck. This a.m. the sky was clear, but yet...white/gray in color. Sun was shining away up in a light medium blue. Smoke still coming I guess. Should be great weather for stargazing with the new moon coming along in the next few days. Hope to get out to a dark sky area.

The weatherman said I'm supposed to have cooler air for a few days with low humidity. Temps down in the 60's tonight.

At this point I'd be happy with hot sunny days as long as things get a chance to dry out.

wow, that's great. It doesn't take much travel time to get to two darker sky zones better from here. Glad you could see some nice stuff tonight!

It rained all day today. I woke up to 8 cats and a dog piled on me because they didn't like the weather (well, cats didn't like the weather-- dog was jealous that the cats were on me). One of my cats who usually likes to go outside has been camped out in her bed on a chair all day.

Well, temp up to 87°! So called cold front lingering to the north yet. Very humid!
