There was a little hole in the wall place in New Braunfels Tx that made awesome carne guisada breakfast tacos. I miss those.....
We stayed in Canyon lake (Startzville) for a few seasons when we were rving. New Braunfels was the closest Walmart so we got kind of familiar with the area.

We used to camp at Canyon Lake pretty much every weekend while in college.

Can't remember the name of the park, but the pool was lined with stone. It was always cool!

How long ago was that? I never saw any pools. When we were there in the early 90's there was a lake with free primitive camping and a porta potty.

This was just outside of Startzville. We were there in the Spring of 2003, 2004 and 2011. It was an RV park but they had primitive camping also. We had just started our 9 years of traveling, when we stayed there the first time.

I made a batch of wings tonight and had a salad. Anyone steam their wings first? I steamed these first for 6-7 minutes, not cooked but close. Then I deep fried them to get the skin nice and crispy. No batter, just a little salt when hot. It's something I saw on "Good Eats".

I over steamed these, should have gone with 6min. Smaller wings than the last batch, but they were crispy.

Oh! and thanks for that recipe.

Ate at the mexican place in town, usually pretty good. Just so-so tonight., Even the salsa had changed. They took out a couple items, maybe cilantro +? and added a touch of a pepper so hot it had no distinct flavor. Maybe they are having trouble getting their usual supplies.

My first attempt to make honey garlic chicken breast. I need to tweak it, and mind the heat next time but it was still good. One chicken breast sliced in half lengthwise, one large carrot, one yellow squash and one cup of basmati rice equals a meal for two. The Wife didn't complain so it couldn't have been too bad, lol.

I put a 10 oz chicken breast on the George Foreman grill and sprinkled it with Slap Yo Mama seasoning. It was a bit too thick to cook right so it got a little crusty on top and bottom. Next time I'll slice it lengthwise into thinner pieces. The kid had Campbell's sausage and chicken gumbo for her supper. She's not big on soup but she likes that one...
