I told my youngest child last weekend that he could choose what we are having for dinner tonight. He thought about it for a while and decided he wanted: steak, mashed cauliflower with beef gravy, cucumber slices, radishes and a chocolate shake. So that's what we're having. :) However I have never seen that boy eat a radish in his life and in his own words "Pork chops are my favorite meat, but we have those all the time so I decided to have steak, which I don't like as much but we don't have as often". Kindergarten logic. :D

I fixed a meatloaf with venison.mixed greenbeans corn early peas and sliced carrots together for my vegetables and German potato salad yesterday.handed out a serving of meatloaf to 3 or 4 neighbors after supper.

Today..fold over meatloaf sandwiches for lunch . Then another full meal tonight.

Anyone else do this? Plain white bread with un-pasteurized butter on top… covered with white sugar… and then, a liberal coat of cinnamon on top of that (no offense intended) ;). Toasted until the sugar starts to brown…

There were times when I was a kid… we didn’t have enough eggs or bacon. My mom would juice my siblings and I with enough sugar, carbs and fat to keep us going until lunch at school.

It’s still a treat I give myself occasionally at night… I don’t sleep very well afterwards but it is yummy! :D

Homemade Hamburger helper is kinda like the Cheesey Mac. Except with ground beef. So I cook hamburger, add Italian seasoning, onion, garlic. Throw in a 9 by 13 pan, add 2 cans of spaghetti sauce, hand fulls of whatever cheese (grated) I have. I put in Mozzarella, sharp cheddar and jack. Mix in one lb of cooked pasta. Stir it all up and bake it till the cheese melts. The grandkids love it. I made garlic toast (Texas toast) to serve with it and a salad.

Got so tickled last night....hubby decided to take us out for a meal....I ordered a small hamburger with fries and jalapeno poppers as well...our meal was served but without the poppers....waitress came by and said..."poppers were being made, cook misunderstood what I wrote on the ticket"...and so after a few minutes, I realized my small hamburger was covered with jalapeno peppers which I love anyway, so just kept my mouth shut...told hubby and we sat there laughing...besides, loved the poppers as well

We used to do that when I was a kid. My aunt had a shaker of cinnamon sugar next to the oven.

That sounds delicious.

My girls were ready to make a good Italian dinner for us, but we ended up spending the day in ER because husband was feeling worse. So I grabbed take out sushi and subsandwich...granddaughter and I do not like sushi, but everyone else does. I get a raincheck for the manicotti and extras on Thursday night.
