Fried deer loin, homemade biscuits and gravy with duck eggs. The deer and the eggs both came from our place and always a favorite breakfast here.

Back when I hunted we called the backstrap breakfast steaks.
My wife liked those so she would have them for supper and when I got home from work that night I would have round steak.
Seems like I got the short end of that deal.:)
You are all making me hungry and I am stuffed with leftover turkey.

I threw some cubed chicken breast in a crockpot. Mixed 2 cans of golden mushroom soup, 2 cups of coconut milk, a splash of lime juice, dehydrated mushrooms, n a spoon of Chinese sweet chilie sauce.
Cook high for one hour then low heat for 4.
Thicken the "sauce" with cornstarch n flour..
Serve over thick chewy noodles..
Toasted garlic sourdough on the side..
Turned out great n super easy..

I haven’t had much of an appetite lately. I made Hubby two grilled cheese and ham sandwiches. I just had a microwave cup of macaroni and cheese. We decorated the church for Christmas after todays service and ordered pizza for lunch for all who stayed and worked.

Today, I am baking a stuffed (regular stuffing) turkey.
Small pan of cornbread dressing.
Shrimp and grits dressing--this is just for me, no one else will eat it.
Mashed potatoes with homemade gravy.
Green bean casserole.
Thawed a package of Hawaiian rolls.
Yesterday, made a pumpkin crunch dessert and baked a frozen sweet potato casserole that was gifted to me.

I will give out some leftovers and we will have leftovers for weeks- some will be frozen.

I was older when I discovered golden mushroom soup. We had used mushroom soup when I was a child, even had that for a meal. Now I really prefer golden mushroom soup for a sauce for cooking things like chicken in a crockpot. Your sauce sounds delicious. Coconut milk is something I've really only used in the last decade or so.

I just discovered it maybe 2 years ago..I love it!
Another simple but good way to use it is saute some mushrooms in butter..about halfway done dump a can of golden mushroom on top . I might have added a tiny bit of water to help it all summer n reduce.
I could eat this alot..

My version of shephder's pie. Works well with the frozen mushrooms that have garlic wine sauce. I think they are bird's eye brand. Cook them for 10min in the pan on high, add a little garlic salt. Then transfer them to a larger pan and cover (off heat) and use the 1st pan to cook hamburger meat. Strain the grease out, return to pan, add velveeta cheese. While meat is cooking I microwave a family size mashed potatoes. They usually finish around the time I'm done mixing in the velveeta. Set small pan with meat & cheese aside, move big pan to the burner (only have one burner), move mushrooms to edges of pan, dump potatoes in middle, mix in a heap of butter, stir it together, then add meat & cheese and mix them together. Mom was happy with how it tasted. Dogs wanted some too. LOL. I felt it needed something, but my taste is still off from being sick.

Bacpacker, that sounds delicious!
