Started off the morning with both DH and I putting on a load of washing and hanging it on the clothes line and then we both did a load of hand watering the lawns with saved grey water from our showers and washing machine.

DH and I then moved to the kitchen where DH washed up the dishes and cleaned the benches and I dried them put them away. Then onto jam making as a friend has dropped off more free lemons and we purchased a bag of oranges yesterday we are currently making into more orange and lemon marmalade. The first two jars are made and we have a second load going in the bread maker to make a 2 more jars.

Shortly we will take the two loads of clean washing in off the clothes line. The last two days we have had 10.8mm of glorious rain and our 2 x 1100lt rain water tanks are just about full again, what a true blessing as they were both getting rather low.

Well, I talked my sister into putting in another small area for me to throw plants in. Edible plants with the appropriate mix of pretty flowers to keep her happy. I packaged the idea with a small patio she has wanted. 46 sqft patio with a 30 sqft bed. Faces SE and will get the most sun out of any area I could sneak edibles in. I am in process of double digging down into the clay and mixing in a mulchy compost to give it some tilth. Went down a foot and a half. No small feat as it took a week of watering to soften the clay up enough to get less than a jackhammer into.

The planning for the patio was a thing of beauty and went much better than I thought it would. I laid it out off a 4’ x 4’ concrete pad in front of the side door. Dug into the lawn around my outline for it and removed all the sod from inside. Leveled it up to match the slope but still left a 1” slope to the patio, in 6’, to match the lawn slope. Laid base and started putting in the 1’ x 1’ stones. I had to shift the layout 2” due to the pad being 4’ 2” after I uncovered the actual edges. As I laid the tiles I was within ½” of the outline I had dug! I kid you not, only the 2” strip on the one side is all the additional adjusting I had to do to the original cutout! What are the chances? LOL

So, it looks like it has been there for years with minimal disturbance to the existing lawn. A few more days of soil work in the bed and we are ready to plant. The edging at the far end still needs to come up some and level it out to the lawn. I rough laid it out for the picture.

How sad. It was actually one of the quieter concerts I ever went to. It was an outdoor pavilion type venue. Not that I'm showing my age, but it was in the 1980s.
Can't imagine condition of any old rocker's hearing.

NOT good but somethings were just too much fun to skip. Concerts and shooting.

Started off the morning with going and visiting my friend with Parkinson's Disease in the aged care facility and we had a wonderful time. Poor thing had such cold feet when I got there so I got some socks out of her drawer and put them on her feet with her slippers. She doesn't like to bother the staff to do things for her as she says they are so busy. We got down to 5 oc this morning so it was rather brisk.

Came home and we had lunch and then started making marmalade with our oranges purchased on special and free lemons our friend gave us picked from her tree. All up from yesterday and today we have another almost 5.5kg of marmalade. We are converts now to making our own as it tastes so much nicer than the shop purchased ones but we are glad we are finally at the end of the lemons we were given :D.

Tonight's dinner was the other half of our mince stir fry with homegrown beans, sweet potatoes and silver beet with a dash of BBQ sauce and curry powder.

Got to my delivery destination in South Carolina, finally. Yesterday the intermodal container chasis was bent and I could not get the air line to secure. Spent all day Tuesday waiting for all of the corporate strategists to pull their collective programs out of their modems. The railroad carrier and my truck company apparently have no phone numbers to get in touch and bounce e-mails!

Now I am waiting for the technicians to clean the tanks and lines for microbials so we can unload liquid bulk for their production.

Hiwall, women's gab sessions are very important. One reason why I love going to our farm. I get to hang out with my favorite women and gab. To an outsider sometimes it looks like the women have to be apart from the men...eat last, serve first...etc. In reality, while the men have been served a meal or refreshment, us women are catching up elsewhere - having coffee and something else good. I look forward to that time. Sometimes I think people have forgotten the art of visiting.
Survived work. My 6am lady is back, so I didn't have to go in till a little later. So husband got breakfast and a lunch made this morning. We're hitting over 90 degrees out today. Getting ready to go out and feed the animals. It is teacher appreciation week this week, so I had lunch brought in for our staff. Have a dehydrator full of tomatoes I need to deal with, and another umpteen pounds to slice and put in. Our son came in and said he saw a huge snake in our back property today that he couldn't identify. Probably hunting mice and baby rabbits. Our son caught a few baby rabbits and wants to see if they'll breed with the rabbits he raises. He said it was so big he heard it slithering down the rows of tomatoes. Hopefully it won't come in our main area...not fond of snakes. Sorry Reptile man.

8 working days and counting until d-day. boss man isn't looking for someone to manage the store, just another cashier. i am so ready to be out of there.:D even though i have a lot of house work to catch up on i'm still looking forward to some rest and relaxation. absolutely not that kind of stress.:coffee::woo hoo:

We started off the morning with both of us putting on a load of washing each and then hanging it on the clothes line and watering the back lawn and lily beds with saved grey water from our showers and washing machine. DH then went and posted 50g of dried sage I sold on the internet and while he did that I deep cleaned the bathroom and toilet.

This afternoon will be more cooking some granola, a cheesecake and processing the rest of our garlic bulbs with olive oil to put in the freezer for a larger yearly supply and to take in the two loads of washing off the clothes line.

No offense taken, I don't like the snakes either. They just can't be trusted.

Cut my hand up pretty bad cutting bamboo poles out of the clump with a bow saw.

*sigh*

I let it bleed while I was working.
I don't get stressed about bleeding. The blood is doing it's job in flushing out any dirt and bacteria in the wounds that might have been on the saw.
I can't use liquid skin, steri-strips or any adhesives because I'm allergic to most of them and they don't stay adhered to the skin because EDS
has given me hinky skin chemistry.
I've cleaned the area and dosed it in Detol and I've wrapped it in lint free gauze and wrapped it with a narrow bandage.

Yep, I'll be wearing gloves tomorrow for round two.

Recovering. While gardening yesterday I moved wrong and seized my back up I couldn’t get upright. I have a history of back issues due to numerous MVAs and a couple skydiving accidents. Couldn’t get into car or truck, ended up fill of nitrous oxide in back of an ambulance. Muscle relaxants and pain drugs. Pretty tender today

Praying for you! Hope you are better soon. I know there are probably guests to attend to at the least! Get as much rest as you can!
