Today, we had/are having a power outage. I switched over to inverter power, got a fan and the O2 machine running (my network and computers have their own backup power), so the wife and I are setting in the living room under the fan, she has on her oxygen enjoying the quiet. Then I get this why does the oxygen and the fan work but the lights and air conditioner don't?

I figure I've got about 3 hours before I need to make any decisions about "extreme measures". In the mean time I'll sit in the dark and surf the net :)

Hope you get power back soon, Urban!

At work, have about an hour left and I'm bored. Finished with busy work, I can't start the next project until I go over stuff with the boss and he's not here. So I guess I'll just twiddle my thumbs until I can leave.

Howdy. We were busy preparing for the GF's daughter's high school graduation. Finally weed whacked everything that had to be cut down, took assorted trash/junk to the dump, cleaned and rearranged stuff inside and out to prepare for the party that kept growing in size. Originally it was just us, the church friends, Pastor and his wife and another old friend asked to go to the graduation so they would be joining us. Asked the good friends down the street to join us when they asked about the graduation, neighbors invited us to the pre-graduation BBQ at their house because their two daughters were graduating so we invited them to the after party and they had family visiting so there were 6 of them, then decided to tell the daughter to ask her friends in the neighborhood so that brought 6 more, and we had to ask the old widower across the street but by 7-ish his house was dark and I think he was already in bed so I didn't go knocking on the door. He came over before we left for graduation and handed her a card and $100, I think he knew he would be asleep early.

Bought what I hope will be the last of the sprinkler/irrigation parts I need to finish everything around the yard. I will probably work on that tomorrow. GF heads off after midnight for a 3 day trip flying the friendly skies.

Slept pretty good the last 3 nights so feeling good that way. Evan Williams has been helping with that, just a few shots right before bed and I am out pretty quick. Yesterday I noticed I felt decent when I woke up but a few hours later I took my BP meds and started to feel uneasy/anxious. That is not an uncommon feeling, actually normal for most days, but I finally realized it started shortly after taking the meds. Today my BP was 150/100 which is my normal high range when taking the meds ......... so I didn't take the meds and will see how it is a few times before I head to work tonight. But, getting ready to go for a walk as soon as I turn off the one sprinkler that is not on a timer yet.

There is very slight smell of fire outside that caught my attention as soon as I walk out the door. No smoke or reported fires in the area, checked online for Utah and Nevada, there are two small wild fires in Nevada and the wind is coming from that direction so I am guessing that is what I am smelling.

Well, enough for now. Gotta turn off the water and go for a walk. Have a great day, and stay safe.

A grandkid came over with his girlfriend to hang out and also fish. I've been a lot of trouble with my back, legs, & neck lately. They're referring me back to the neurosurgeon about my neck and we're going to see if therapy will help my lower back and legs. I also bought a small used jon boat and it's leaking in several places so I've been working on that the best I can. The good news is I'm still alive 🤣.

So, you have won the battle and are in shape to continue fighting the war. Good for you!

Another day to dodge rain and weed in between.

That a before and after shot in one picture. The section to the left has not been weeded.

If you haven't already, look into a good massage therapist for deep tissue massages. It hurts but once they work out the knots the muscles will start to relax and help ease the pain. I know it may be spine and joint related but the muscles tighten up to protect the joints and after a while they wont relax unless forced to relax. If you can find someone to come to the house you can take a pain pill or muscle relaxer an hour before, but ask in advance or don't tell them because some may not want to do a massage if they know you are on those meds or have had a few drinks. The one person I asked about that said they want to know when they are hurting you so they wont add injury by digging too deep. I did muscle relaxers once and found it very helpful, another time I had a few shots of vodka just before I walked in their business and that worked well too.

I suffered for over 25 years and when they would work out one bad muscle another would let me know it was there a few days later. I didn't go for massages regularly due to the cost but for the most part it took a few years once I really focused on getting fixed but that was going once a month and having my girlfriend work on the knots at home several times a week. For people with new, or newer injuries get a few massages sooner than later and it will heal faster.

Happy to see you Squirrelhunter.

*HUGE SIGH*

It looks like the freight carrier has lost my wheelchair ramp.
The supplier made a spelling error when putting in my street name and now no one can find it.
AWESOME. not.
That 8 foot ramp was over $400.
I'm going to have to hand it to God because he knows where it is and it'll take a act of God
for it to be delivered to my address.

I have no idea WHY this keeps happening to me.
I don't cause these things to happen but they just happen....all the blessed time.

Goshengirl, I hope the transplant for your son goes well.

Urban, I hope you get power back soon.

I went to Panda (my favorite restaurant- Chinese buffet). We got the newest waitress who is very sweet and loves that we can say a few words in Mandarin and I always thank her in Mandarin. Most people around here don't make any effort to learn words in other languages and even though I'm sure I butcher the pronunciation, she is very encouraging and appreciates that I try. Then to Samsclub. My bro and I both had to go to the bathroom badly & blew past the guy who I suspect was selling subscriptions to Directv. He said "I have a question for you" and I said "Sorry! Bathroom!" and rushed on by. I normally stop and am polite enough to hear the question but I wasn't sure I'd make it in time. I did fortunately. Next stop was Walmart for brother's RX and some food items.

Last stop (before home) was my friend's house to drop off some Ensure.

Mom just paged and wants me to get something in the room that is 4ft away from her....

Today we have had a mix of rain, thunder storms, and tornado warnings. We had 2 power outages the first one was a warning bump (30 minutes), the second one lasted 2 hours, still manageable. There were a few sunny breaks I and went out and changed my alternator during one of them. I found that there were some yellow jackets flying in and out of the gap between the finder and the door, does not make for pleasant company. When I finished I sprayed the area down, I couldn't see the nest but could tell it was in there somewhere.....

Looks like I'm going to have to re-house train Landshark judging by the huge lake of pee and piles of poop.
Her foster carer kept her outside with two other dogs.
Obviously a smart lady who values her possessions and her plumbing.
Oh, and I'm up for another dog crate.
No prizes for guessing why.

I can't keep her outside here at night because of the amount of nocturnal 2 legged vermin roaming the streets.
AS soon as the sun goes down Landshark is ready for war and she's not playing at it.
She views everything as a threat and she's beyond loud and angry.
She's much calmer and quieter inside ...until there's a knock at the door or a car door slams outside.
I'm very grateful for the foster carer. I really am.
This is the small price I have to pay..and it was still worth it.

Work wasn't bad today, lots of people took vacation to extend the weekend. Got home and tinkered with the weedeater getting it ready for tomorrow morning. (Did I mention I HATE weedeating???) After that I mowed some.
TOnight currently watching the Braves and Marlins play baseball, while waiting on UT to play LSU in the SEC Tourney. Suppose to start at 9, but prior game in only in the 6th inning at 8:42. I'm betting it don't start before 10.

So tell us How do you reeeally feel about weedeating? 😂

My computer is being "odd" and I'm getting so tired of trying to deal with it. It's still not right, but I'm at least able to sing on now.

Well hate might be a bit mild.
I usually do it once around 4th of July, then again after the heat goes away and grass quits growing. Tomorrow will be my second time this year. Not sure what's got into me

I don't like weedeating either which is partially why it's fun pickin' 😇 It sure does make a difference though.

It's because I have 3 bulging discs in my lower back and they have spurs on them. I've had trouble with my back for right at 40 years now. My right leg is 1/2" shorter than my left so my spine grew like a Ky. road map to try to make up for it. The spurs are starting to restrict the nerve's passageways on both sides of the vertebrae and even the spinal cord. I'm having about the same problem in my neck too but it's only effecting 1 side instead of both like my lower back. I actually have degenerative discs syndrome and arthritis all the way down my spine. I don't know of any massages places or people around here,we live in a small rural area. We're also both only living on Disability and are barely surviving financially. Thanks for the idea though.

Have you considered a used shark cage?
