Last night the wife completed her list and I completed my survey of the food storage landscape, this morning I hit W-mart at 06:00, they were very well stocked and I was able to get everything on the list... Now everything is fully stocked except my bank account!

While we were making our lists last night the wife reminded me that from now until September I need to stop buying things that go in a freezer (wise woman).... So I carefully passed by that isle where the keep those Ham and Cheese Hot Pockets or as someone on here rightly put it, "Beggin' strip for people" and no Ice Cream...

I passed through the sporting goods section and was shocked to see that they had refilled the ammo case... a couple of years ago they removed all the ammo and I think they discovered that the stuff that went with it quit selling... Go figure, no ammo, no camo... ;) What really puzzled me was they had stocked lead bird shot, some slug shells, and an assortment of 22s. But mostly they had 308s and 30-06 which is funny because you have to drive over a hundred miles to hunt with those and there are very few places where you can shoot them here... My best guess is the guy/gal running the department has no idea what they are doing.

We are expecting thunderstorms this afternoon so as soon as the lawn dry's out I will try to mow it then I will switch to working indoors, I have a room full of goodies that need to be dated and put away, followed by laundry (bedding). I hope to do a little work on my garden starter seeds.... if I can find the time and I am not called off to do some emergency repairs... Yesterday it was the wife's crow-boot, which breaks rivets and buckles at a surprising rate.

Have the trailer backed up onto the lawn so I can wash it and get the inside all cleaned up. We have an event to attend next weekend and will be using it. I think Hubby is going to take his motorbike up the mountain and see how far he can get and look for more shrooms. It's not supposed to rain today so I might need to "play in the garden" which is really code for do some weeding.

AND you will be peeling veggies with your 1945 vegetable peeler and posting pics on HCL!😃😉

Getting ready to go walk now.
Take jars of squash out to shed.
Go to Dollar General with daughter.
Make baked beans.
Grill hamburgers, deer sausage, hot dogs and pork steaks. Wish me luck! This is the first time I am lighting the new grill.
Hope all goes well!! I can be there by supper if you need help eating some of that!!😉😃

Doing some dishes and watching the construction crew work on the new grocery store. They've got the lines in and the foundation poured. I assume the parking lot will be where the piles of dirt and rock are. There's only a couple guys working today. I suppose the rest are off for Memorial Day weekend.

I took my dog to the vet for a check up.
The Vet has cut way back on his practice. He got really sick with Covid. He only sees patients on Saturday first come first served.
I was there a half hour before he opened and there was no place to park. There must have been 25 people ahead of me.
I just came home. Guess I need to find another vet. I really like the guy but that's a long wait and he may not be able to see everyone.

Chillin' today, we went on a Rambo mission yesterday and it wiped us both out, lol. Did dishes, put away all of the canned meats that we grabbed yesterday on my new shelves, still have room for more. Stashed 4 flats of veggies, and some flats of water.

I went grocery shopping early, everything was well stocked, there were only a couple holes I saw. One was the section with the Capri Sun drinks. 🤣 Got some sausages and pork loin on sale, my little freezer is full now.

Then I went to my parents' to visit and help out. Mom's doing better which is a relief, she was much steadier and moving around more. I did a few chores, got her to eat some scrambled eggs then loaded an outdoor storage bench into the truck to bring home. The ride home was rough, rain was coming down in buckets and there was a lot of street flooding. So now inside chores for the rest of the day.

If you like Dollar General, there’s a group on Facebook, Dollar General Penny Shopping, where folks trade hints on how to find merchandise that sells for a penny. Usually they give a photo, a bar code, and whatever other info they have on great deals. I’ve seen grills, fans, clothing, food and beverages. Generally it’s clearance or old stock but prices stickers haven’t caught up. Could be time well spent. Not all stores are the same, but it appears that it’s usually good nation wide. There may be an app where you can check prices before you get to the register. I have not taken the time to try it as my house is too small and I don’t need more stuff, but it could be a help to someone who could resell online or have a sale.

A pleasant Saturday on The Ridge with The Princess. Hard to beat that! The first thing I noticed was the chicken wire house over the broccoli.

A ground hog or raccoon attempted to find a way in from the looks of the depression. No sign of entry and no damage to the plants. So far so good.

I did more weed whacking while The Princess channeled her most deadly forces uttering "die die die" as she sprayed RoundUp on her hated enemy... poison ivy. She used 2 gallons in her quest.

My brother brought the lawn tractor up lended a hand. i now have access to all of the fruit trees.

Did some weeding after figuring out which plants we thought were sunflowers and watermelon. We already knew what the pumpkins and potatoes looked like.

Now it is time relax and enjoy the last of the pleasant temps before we have to engage the AC.

Count your blessings!

The most rain we got was a quick 5 minute shower. Barely wet the ground. Eastern Mass is dry.

:( I guess the storms fell apart before they reached you, I hope you get some soon. I know some parts of Mass are edging towards drought levels.

My stepdaughter is an extreme couponer. Not me. She does Walgreens, cvs and others. I was just along for the ride.

Thanks for sharing your pictures, they are awesome!!

Picked up our beef share today. The freezers are officially full. 🙂

Planted another little apple tree at the farm. It’ll be many moons before it produces - I typically don’t plant standards, but geez the cost of good fruit trees is stunning!

Got a few other chores done at the farm, but that’s it. We had to head home early because our youngest had car trouble. He’s 20, so he’s not super young, but it was his first time having to figure out what to do when the car dies suddenly on a two-lane state highway, and Mom and Dad are two hours away. It was a good learning experience.

Weed eatin. Know what ill be doing later? Still weed eatin

I had my 4 legged weed eaters out today free ranging. First dry day in probably a week or more. Son mowed around the house.
Had friends over for dinner yesterday, was fun but I had a ton of dishes to do today since it got late and I didn't feel like it yesterday.

Planted Cranshaw melon seeds in the garden THEN looked up instructions ( new plant) . They like heat. So I dug them back out and put them in a jar of warm water to sprout first.....
They will have to go in the greenhouse along with the citrus fruit....which...the sheep ate the leave off because husband forgot to close the door....we will see if they recover

Pulled weeds for a few hours, cleaned out some of the sheep area in the barn. We load it on a cart behind the ATV and drive it in the pasture and dump it as fertilizer.
There is about 2 feet of compacted manure in there from over the winter and spring.

We never get caught up. Oh well, that's ok.
