I started a few social media accounts for the rabbitry just to get the name out there and hopefully bring in a few customers when we have our next few litters. I want to have a bunny barn when we move and figure they can help pay for it just like they are paying for their own feed. I have a facebook account since you can't open a business account with out a personal one. I opted to use my middle name to keep the asshats from contacting me from my past since I don't want the account for 'social' reasons. I am in a few meat rabbit groups so I have a group I can ask questions to if I need a fast answer and don't have time for research.

Being in the groups has drawn some new traffic to my rabbitry's page so I guess it is working. We will see once I get closer to breeding the does.

After work Jake and I loaded up the truck to spend a couple of days floating and camping on the James River. We are going to camp in a campground this year instead of just where we get tired on the river bank guess I’m getting old or maybe need a break but I’m doing this trip the easy way. Camping in a campground and eating dinner in restaurants. 🤣🤣🤣

@zannej That'd be good if they take the dogs, saves you from having to try to hunt down another home for them. I hope it works out!

@ABR Good to hear the pups are healthy, hope you feel better soon!

@snappy1 Oooo, nice. How long does the seal last? Are they hard to open?

@Grimm Ugh, sciatic pain is awful. Try to take it easy and hopefully it'll improve soon.

@Magus Enjoy your smoke. lol

My face looks and feels better today. Much less red and the skin isn't warm to the touch anymore. There's a lovely shade of yellow like healing bruises around my eyes though. Getting ready to leave work, if it's not raining when I get home, I'm going to harvest more raspberries. Getting towards the end of them.
Thanks. Glad your face is feeling better. Did your doctor say anything about cleansing it with hydrogen peroxide? That can help with wounds sometimes.
So, dogs decided to be major jerks and run off to the neighbor's half a mile away and play in the mud right before I could take them to the vet. Then they fought me on getting them in the truck. Peanutbutter kept jumping back out (I put her on a blanket in the back seat). Finally got them in, got my brother in, got collars on them, put leashes on, and had to drag them all the way to the vet's door. Peanutbutter fought more. Jelly cooperated somewhat after awhile. Got them weighed and had them tested for heartworm. The guy who wants them called and said what treatments they wanted and they took his credit card info but their internet went down just before I left. I let him know. Dogs are now fully protected from worms.
I had to carry them back into the house when I was done. Once they started behaving I gave them treats. But I am exhausted and my arms/wrists hurt.
Good news is the treatment has been paid for and all I have to do is keep them safe until I can bring them to the neutral meeting place on Saturday. The guy really adores these dogs and they liked him a lot. Hopefully they will behave ok.
I took some naproxyn and am about to follow it with a nap. LOL.

It was a mostly successful day. Got daughter to her orthodontist appointment, went to Bass Pro where I bought her a bow for her 16th birthday present. She's had an interest in archery for a long time. Her mom even bought her a cheapo primitive bow at a garage sale once, but it wasn't that good and she got frustrated. She took archery in phys ed and we were able to find the exact same bow that her class used. It's a medium quality, low draw weight bow, perfect for learning. Hopefully it will be $250 well spent.

I got my work boots at the Red Wing store and a new pair of Dickies bib overalls at Fleet Farm. Both were needed for work. The only thing I couldn't find were the shoes I wanted, Bass Pro quit carrying them.

After all that we went to the parade that kicks off the start of our county fair every year. The parade was kind of lame but daughter got a bunch of parade candy so she's happy. The rest of the evening will be relaxing with a pizza and a movie...

That's terrible about your wife's hand, Bacpacker. I've been drug and bit in the hand by one of our dogs, and it's not good. ChaosDawn is feeling it, too. Granddaughter left early this morning while I was out doing morning chores. The boyfriend's mom picked her up to take her to the bigger town to get her driver's license. Then husband left for 2 doc appts, and little granddaughter and I went bin shopping, and then to hang out with mom at her place. I needed to tell her that her brother in law and niece passed. She was upset, but won't remember about it for awhile. Took little granddaughter out to Chic fil a afterwards. Came home, and husband had come home and granddaughter was ranting because she can't get her license unless she has a parent/guardian present to sign for her. He was a nice man and drove her all the way back in and signed for her. Then the boyfriend came over, picked her up and grandson, too. Grandson had him drive the mile to pick up his paycheck, and take him to the bank, another mile away. Then they dropped him off at home. They all came in when our next door farm neighbor came by to drop off sweet corn for us. She wanted to know what was happening, so I filled her in. Granddaughter came home from the boyfriend's place around 8:45, and another amish neighbor and I were discussing what happened on the porch. She has 3 young ones, they came over to play with the kittens and little granddaughter. So, granddaughter knows word is getting out about what's really been going on. Sweet neighbor also brought over sweet corn, and also cherry tomatoes and zucchini walnut bread. The twins will both be going to work all day tomorrow, so things will be quieter. Grandson was minding his manners today, but Granddaughter was arrogant and annoying. 322 days.

I started major cleaning last week, first time I’ve seen my kitchen table since April. Cfs kicks my butt sometimes, a bad spell might last months. Been struggling, this is the peak of plant season too.

Anyway, proud I’m getting my house livable again, major work finished in every room. I still have at least one area in each that needs thought. What worked for me 2 years ago doesn’t anymore, needs minor or major changes.

I’m also behind on tinctures I need to make. I got my aluminum camp table out. I need some extra table space temporarily. I have almost no counter space, just my island and 4ft by the sink. If I set up my kitchen for making tinctures I like to do as many as possible in a day. Need lots of space!

@Backpacker Ouch! I hope your wife heals quickly. That must have really hurt.

@Sparky_D yikes. I feel you on the shoulder pain. Mine finally healed but it really sucks. I hope the physical therapy will help and that you heal up quickly.

@Spikedriver that was awesome of you to get your daughter a bow. I took archery at a summer camp one year. I was actually pretty good at. I wish I'd kept up with it. I hope you enjoyed your pizza and movie.

@Amish Heart it sounds like granddaughter's boyfriend is at least helpful to her. I'm glad your neighbors are being supportive of you and bringing you food. I love sweet corn. Does grandson have a license yet? I'm guessing not. Hopefully things will go well for you on the 26th.

I woke up from my nap and cooked for Mom. I had stopped at Walmart and grabbed some frozen chicken for her and she was happy. She had the rest of the leftover yellow rice and a chicken thigh. She insists on not eating meat on Fridays so I will have to make her some shrimp. I will probably have to make more yellow rice to go with the shrimp scampi she likes from Samsclub.

My body is aching all over and I'm exhausted but feeling a bit mellow. I just hope nothing goes wrong with the puppies before the new owners take them. I'm also concerned about my friend because the bleeding from his dental surgery hasn't reduced much. I've told him he can message me (as he can't talk with the gauze in his mouth) and I can talk to the dentist for him or even take him back up there if necessary. But I really hope I can get some rest on Friday.

Found one of those metal presses so made homemade burgers. Planted out turnips seedlings- and we had rain so no outdoor watering - I have my washing machine diverted into a barrel for use, but the polytunnel container is running low. Plaited my onions, and the youngest kindly peeled my garlic so it's now in the freezer. I bought, or rescued, two plants from Lidl a few weeks ago for €2 each. A clematis and a black-eyed Susan vine, which I've never grown before. I cut them back and they've recovered beautifully, so installed them outside. Planning on a poly clean-up this morning before a trip to the library and the hairdressers! It's been a while lol.

The fellow that takes in feral kittens took the tiny one I found yesterday. That's good news!

Already walked this morning.
Will be out of town today and tomorrow with my friend.
See you all Sunday. I hope everyone has a good weekend!
@Bacpacker , I hope your wife's appt. goes well today!
@Sparky_D , I think therapy is the price for getting older. LOL

Will they take a bad check instead?

Rough night last night. I feel like crap.

Mrs. Sparky's mom tested positive last week for the virus but is getting better.
Her sister got it too, so there's no way we're going anywhere near them for a while.

I'm just going to take it easy today, watch my Sumo wrestling, drink my coffee, and pray today's a light work load day.

Sounds like you are moving towards glamping! I can't say that I would blame anyone for that as we age. I loved tent camping when I was younger, but sleeping on the ground, or even on a cot is just not so comfortable any more, and I want to be comfortable!

Treats! Some dogs do not like to ride in vehicles. It could be because they know where they are going, and car rides might upset their tummies and bother them otherwise. When I first started taking Crosby to the dog park, I got her in the car with treats. Whenever we were arriving at the dog park, I would say, "Dog park." That reinforced her willingness to get in the car and stay there, because she absolutely loved going to dog parks. If I said anything about dog park in her presence, she was standing and ready to go. We had to develop a code word if we talked about the dog park in her presence when we weren't going, "canine play place." Treats motivated her in so many ways. Since she had so many vet visits, treats were a regular at the vet and she knew she was going to get some when she got there. She loved all the people at the vet and they loved her, knowing she was going to have a short life. Treats were the main seducer for her.

Cut the grass while it was still cool this morning. Got the gate to "The pit of Despair" dug out, now I can toss the branches from weeks ago down the hill to compost and provide a wildlife habitat. Found the decades old plastic lattice has finally deplasticized and shredded, so I will be replacing that this afternoon with pressure treated pickets. Have to wait till it's in the shade

Watered the garden. Harvested one squash. Dehydrated bananas and apples for a trip that I'm going on. I don't mind them a little brown. I used overripe bananas and a bruised Pink Lady apple.
Ever make a fruit puree and dry it crisp? you'll forget potato chips!

Just got back from doc withe the results of my shoulder MRI.

Tendinopothy (essentially tendinitis without inflamation) in the shoulders and Tenosynovitus and Bursitis in my biceps.

Sounds like more Physical Therapy in my future...:(
I've got bursitis in my hips. I expect that it is from carrying heavy laundry baskets of wet clothes when I was six years old. Where were the adults? Sitting and giving orders.

Its gonna be Monday before she can see a Dr. The one they planned last night is out of town this month.
Her hand is throbbing, but not much swelling. I'm taking care of the dogs and cooking. Maybe we'll lose some weight. Lol
Prayers out for all the others dealing with their own issues
Praying she'll get well soon so she doesn't have to eat your cooking for too long!

We made it over to Galena and got our camp set up. We have swam a couple of times and have our stuff ready to hit the river in the morning.

The Princess left me home alone unsupervised while she is at the cottage on lake Chautauqua. I covered the quad with a tarp for now.

I started to clean up the shed before putting anything more in there. Sizing up what I have in there now it looks like I perfectly mistimed this project. I have 2 shelves of old paint I can toss. But the the community hazardous waste day is tomorrow and I didn't get an appointment thinking I only had a gallon and a quart of paint. I will have to stage them in the shed until the next event. Oh well.

I will have do some planning since I have a large stash of burlap bags, rolls that have to go somewhere. The wind turbine charge controllers generator and inverter will get moved to the basement room where the future battery bank will go.

A lot of move this to make room for that ahead of me.

But some reading time now.

Thank goodness I have my income 'fixed'!
We picked up the car today after having the oil changed, tires rotated, and the A/C fixed.
It was only $1,489.56!:woo hoo:
Newly retired people, this is what the "expected unexpected" looks like. (I love that term:thumbs:).
For everything else, there is Mastercard! (dangit, I used VISA!:()

You and me both.

Heater core plus labor was over $1k in my Jeep Liberty. No option to let it go. Winter and defrosters are a safety issue.

That is what an emergency fund is for.
