Got home early today, one of my clients had strep throat. So I FINISHED Bear's new yard fence!! Just had the hot fence to do, two strands at the top, hang and set up the energizer. Don't know if he'd actually climb or jump the fence, but no worries or wondering now!! Knowing GSDs, climbing, jumping, and figuring things out is part of the breed!! So I'm done working in the hot sun, time for a fast shower and a nap!!

The hot wires will also keep the crack heads out of the yard along with Bear.
Nothing like a large dog and a hot fence to confound a crack head.

Washed and tended the wound on the horses ankle. It's looking a lot better than yesterday. He belongs to one of the girls but they are on vacation with their mom so I get to play vet for the week. Prayed him down with fly spray and gave him treats in the ball he kicks around so maybe the bandage will stay on his ankle longer, he prefers to chew it off instead of letting it protect the wound.

Relaxing here for a bit then I have to pay the bills online.

I appreciate all the encouragement and advice regarding the house. Thank you all, or all ya'll.

Feeling like hell today. Last night was a rough one, my blood glucose readings were all over the place and I didn't get much sleep. I'm just now starting to feel like myself.

Today my daughter and I will do a little cleaning project, and get a movie from the library for tonight. It's kind of handy to live 80 yards away from the library...😁

@Spikedriver If I lived 80 yards from the library I don’t think I’d ever get anything done but reading! :D Hope your blood sugar settles, that’s no fun.

My husband needed a blood test this morning, so we did that, grabbed breakfast out as a reward, and hit the bank. Came back, harvested some veggies, made lunch, and now it’s housecleaning time. Debating if I’m getting some bell peppers on the dehydrator today or tomorrow, hmm.

If you have a hedge or chain link fence, sew saw-briers along them and let them climb. NOTHING is coming through or over. another choice is blackberries, you get free fruit, but less thorns.

Landshark is now at the cow vets to get fixed up and to get her ear infections looked at.
Landshark LOVES the cow vet.
The 45 min car trip dialled her up to an 11 and she was in complete spaz mode once we got there.
No need for them to sedate her when we got there and we had little problem getting her on the scales to weigh her and she trotted off to the holding cages with the vet like a little lamb!!

There's nothing like children and animals to make a liar out of you!

More work on the greenhouse today. Cut a piece of OSB to close up the ceiling where drywall panel was missing.

Then came the process of going through the contents of shelves of my grow station and tossing stuff and staging others until the shelves are moved.

The Princess helped big time moving all of the steam engine parts I had stashed under the shelves. Each of the boxes weighed between 35 and 40 lbs. She can work if she is getting what she wants.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover how many pots and trays that I had forgotten about.

I will be breaking down the shelving unit and reassembling in the greenhouse on Thursday. The shelf is on wheels but will not fit through the doors.

Tomorrow I will be cutting grass at the remodel house tomorrow unless the weather gets in the way.

The twins en route to Albuquerque, should be arriving shortly. We didn't have to bring them to the airport, because the boyfriend wanted to take them using granddaughter's car. He drove it back to his house to guarantee that he'll be picking them up Friday. Did the animal chores this morning, and was in the goose run when they came to say goodbye. They don't (won't) do animal chores, and the geese had a fit. One stood by me in guard mode, the other's went to the gate so the twins couldn't come in. Screaming and bobbing their heads. Surprised me, really. Husband had his allergy shot and then we went to my favorite cousin's place to try some grape pie she made from our grapes. It was outstanding, and was her mama's recipe. (Susie, name twins to me). Her two granddaughter's came back to our farm with us to play with little granddaughter. They've been busy all afternoon on the slip and slides, the swing, and Barbies. Their mom is picking up some bushels of tomatoes across the road from us soon, so she'll get them then. Ready for movie night with little granddaughter. Last nigh was, "Big Fish", and tonight might be "Princess Bride".

Whoa, boy...it's hot in west Nebraska today. It's supposed to hit 102° this afternoon. I'm taking a little break at work, trying to hydrate for the heat. It's about to get ugly. We've got two switches to finish building today. They're mostly done but there's loose ends to tie up...
Do you take salt tabs when your working out in that heat? (potassium chloride)
Landshark has a secondary infection in both ears.

She gets ear infections because of her food allergies.
She also gets sore paws and chews on them.
I've been treating the ears with illum drops which normally helps but not this time.
I'll start her on doxycycline at lunch because she gets fed in the morning.
Doxycycline is a funny drug..can't be taken with anything with calcium in it because it binds.
It has a very low absorption rate unless mixed with a fat - but it needs to be taken with water.
Just as well Landshark doesn't have any issues taking tablets.
You just hold them out in your palm and tell her to 'eat up!" and she does.
I could see her accepting and eating a pebble in the same way.
Lord knows she has the jaws of a rock crusher.
I'm just grateful I don't have to try and enage on a pitbull rodeo to get the meds down her neck.
Poor LS - if they are red on the inside, and if she'll let you vinegar water flushes are soothing - or even if she'll let you put a wet or soaked rag in her ear for a couple minutes. . . Hope they heal up quickly.
@Bacpacker How is Mrs. BP coming along? Hopefully healing well.

Trying to catch up a little.
They are harvesting onions in the back portion of the field behind us. Our house smells like onions!!!!! They are harvesting with a potato picker since they can't find enough workers to harvest like usual.
Awake 2+ hours during the night last night, got to sleep and the alarm went off.
Have been running!
Here I go again.
Tootles.

She is about beside herself. LOL. She hates being one handed. See the Dr Monday to get the cast off and x-rayed. She is still having a lot of pain, but we think it's just the bones mending. But all in all she's doing OK. Thanks for checking on her.

Hope your land shark heals quickly Tank girl!

As to whats going on with me...
It's 3AM again. My bed is full of farting tomcats and I'm thinking about taking the mobile bunker to Florida SPECIFICALLY to hunt Anacondas and boa constrictors, collect bounties and fill my freezer with Herptile meat. might even get a gator or two IF I can get a freezer big enough. If I can remember my antifreeze tanning, I'll get a fortune in just hides. Barring that, head to South Ga and hog hunt. Ft Benning has a bounty of 40$ per hog, which is almost twice the usual landowner offering! (normally 20-25$) and WELL beyond the state bounty of 5$

Oh well, beats dreaming of cheerleaders practicing in their underwear from the graduating class of 83' then waking up. So depressing.

Went to work for my evening shift of unloading the truck. Walked out to the store area to get a couple carts for when we get bigger boxes or odd shaped stuff and got caught by a customer asking me questions about plumbing that I didn't know the answer to, then got corralled by several more customers because the very few people working the floor were non-existent and the couple that did walk by Nu Nothin. 6 customers and 20 minutes later I made it back to receiving to help on the unload that we are timed on to ensure we work fast enough for their standards. Surprisingly we took longer than allowed, I shrugged my shoulders and told them to hire people to work the floor.

Came home, browned up the burger that has been in the fridge for about 10 days, surprisingly it didn't go bad, mixed up sloppy joes to give me meals the next several days and while eating I printed out all my business receipts for this year so I can keep them in a file for taxes. Then ordered some odds and ends from Amazon for my business. A stapler for those receipts, spatulas for cleaning up the screen print ink to reuse, a large ice pack for my back, an infrared heat gun because the kids (20-somethings) lost mine, and some other stuff. Printed that receipt too. I forgot to turn the AC down when I got home so I have about an hour until the bedroom cools off so I guess I will surf a bit to kill some time. In the morning I hope to make my first silk screen in 9 years and print some Tshirts to hopefully sell at the corner farmers market on Saturday. It will read YOUR PRESIDENT IS AN IDIOT! I think the second will be DON'T CALIFORNIA OUR UTAH! And then maybe one with our community name and a cleaver design.

I received a message from a member of our volunteer fire department asking about shirts for our FD and also for 4 other neighboring volunteer departments. I figure 2 ink colors most likely so 2 screens needed, I gave him a guestimate of $10 a shirt with a note that the low prices are only for church groups, schools and volunteer fire departments so he wouldn't run around and tell everyone I will make their shirts for $10 each. Also mentioned the ones I sell at the corner will be $20 each as a reminder on the pricing. Also had to mention the price is based on reasonably easy design work as computer time adds up quickly when trying to do complicated designs. Most everyone else charges extra for art work design and for making each screen but usually I wont add in those charges unless things get complicated, at which point it will be obvious the customer will be annoying to work with and I will suggest they take the complicated orders elsewhere and pay a lot more to someone else. I think my price will be quite low compared to any other places but asked him to talk with me if someone else gives a lower price so I can try to beat it. This would be an excellent chance to get my name out into the community to drum up business.

Tank girl hope your doggy gets better soon!!
Mine is turning into a landshark also....he constantly has his mouth open ready to bite whatever is in front of him. He has already chewed a hole in the back of my recliner good thing it's old and I don't really care as long as he doesn't eat the pieces..( sorry somehow some of the mail got cut off)

Very busy this week ( what's new...)
Rented a brush mower , you have to walk behind it. Funny, it's called "Billy Goat" but it is for mowing stuff our billy goats and others won't eat
It works great but very very tiring since we used it to mow ragweed in some of the pasture areas. I also ordered a weed flame thrower
Have to do some shopping today and then it's getting ready for the market
Hope everyone has a good week

Just got a phone call from the cow vet - Landshard had complications and she's not recovering from her desexing very well.
She's on a drip and she has to stay the night.

I'm shocked and so upset.
Prayers for your Landshark Tankgirl.

Oh Tank, hope Landshark heals up and snaps back to herself. 💕
@INresponse I like that second shirt idea/slogan! Also, would be great if you got in with the FD etc.

They've only done about 1/3 of the field so have more onion potpourri at least a few more days. A thunder boomer moved through last evening and cleaned up the air. Nice, but muggy. Hubby walked out to look at where they harvested already (they are driving over the ground so they are finished there) & lots of onions still in the field. Many are a little smaller or severed but still good. He brought back a handfull. I will probably chop and dehydrate those that are scarred and store the good ones. Might have to glean a few more of their cast aways.
Trying to keep up - the days have been a little hectic at work and almost as nuts at home. Tis the season.

How is landshark doing now? Hopefully better!

Have fun with your onion palooza, Lady Locust!

Walked first.
Picked figs, peppers and cut okra.
Cooked out--pork steaks for breakfasts and some burgers.
Made croutons out of half a loaf of older Hawaiian bread.
Steam boiled eggs for the first time. Those things peeled perfectly!

Hope to relax for awhile.

Spent four hours waging Goathead War in the yard, but I have FINALLY prevailed, my yard is now 99% free of those miserable puncturevines!!! I say 99% because I know I will find a few small vines here & there as I water this summer and fall, but I can pull those as I go, or scuff 'em with my Vibram soles to scrape 'em off at ground level, lol. I gotta tell y'all, my feet are TIRED!!! I've been schlepping that propane tank around all morning, torching weeds and scuffing about 100 younger vines with my boots, now I'm ready to kick back & relax for the rest of the day. I drank a huge glass of my iced tea & lemonade combo, that's a great thirst quencher when ya come in tired, dusty & sweaty... I drank about a quart of purified water afterward as well, just to make sure I'm hydrated for my beer drinking this afternoon, lol. Hopped in the shower to get that funky sweat off my body, now I'm relaxing in front of the fan with the A/C also cranked, lol. No other plans for the day, my aching feet are too tired... must be a cumulative thing after a weeklong campaign of goathead eradication.

Mom wanted to go to the grocery store, so that was a big event. She was pretty confused, but did ok. Got her back to her place, put away the stuff she bought, and took her to the dining room for the Bible Study before lunch. Not a word from the twins in New Mexico, so I'm thinking all is ok. It sure is nice and quiet around here. Touched base with our covid son (day 5) and he's doing pretty well.

Took my daughter to her counseling session this morning. While she was there I ran down to the eyedoctor and got my glasses fixed. One of the bows had gotten bent and I needed a professional to fix it right.

After that I ran out to the Chevy dealer to have a look around. They have Zero cars of any kind on the lot, just trucks and SUVs. Kind of sucks when you're looking for a fuel efficient vehicle for a kid to drive. The Ford dealer across town had some cars but they were all overpriced junk. He had a 2021 F-150 XL that interested me, 4x4 regular cab short box. But he wanted $39,000 for it. It didn't cost that much new!

This afternoon we're going to visit my mom at the nursing home and probably have supper with pops...
