Thanks Gumpy. Just fixing to head home, kids BP went down to 80/40 and took its sweet time coming back up. Had trouble keeping her conscious for a few minutes there. Scared the snot out of me.
thoughts and prayers sent to you and your family terri
@Terri9630 have they tested your daughter for postural or othostatic hypotention ?, the reason why I am asking this is it is a condition that when standing the blood pressure drops considerably as opposed to sitting position where the blood pressure is a lot higher. Usually caused by either a leaking heart valve (loss of pressure) or in other cases being born with veins and arteries too big for the body where the blood pools in the feet when standing and takes longer to circulate around the body causing a lack of oxygen to the brain. Well worth her also being tested for this through taking her blood pressure both standing and sitting.
As I have this condition (from a teenager) it gives similar symptoms of dizziness, passing out, turning white and shaking which are similar to a diabetic attack. It took years for them to diagnose what was wrong with me too and in my case my blood sugar levels would drop dramatically too when I had an episode, mine was the latter having been born with veins and arteries too big for my body after they ran tests on my heart. I usually sit where I am when it happens and take salt which raises the blood pressure or eat a piece of fruit.
Treatment advice I had was to eat 6 smaller meals a day to level out both the blood pressure and blood sugar levels, stand up slowly, when standing wiggle feet and move so as not to be standing in the one place for too long to aid circulation and to stop you passing out and carry salt or snacks with me for emergency situations.
You and your daughter are in our prayers.
@Terri9630 well she is living with something similar to me so tell her from me to carry snacks with her wherever she goes and if feeling dizzy to eat straight away and also adopting the sitting wherever you are helps during a dizzy spell as well, because from experience, I can tell you fainting while sitting hurts less than doing it when you are standing .
Prayers fr you and your daughter @Terri9630 .
I second these emotion's.
Hang in there @gumpy ,something will turn up. Maybe you could do like Jeff Dunham's Walter and be a greeter at Walmart and tell everybody "Welcome to Walmart, get your S*** and get out"
They have a tentative diagnosis of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome but today's test was to see if her adrenal system is working right. As a newborn she had a hole in her heart and a crimped artery so we have had several scans of her heart. They said everything looks normal. The cardiologist wants her to drink a minimum of 90oz of liquids and 8-10mg of salt a day and eat a bit all day long. She is never hungry so I have to tell her to eat. She had to wait to start a high salt diet after today's test because it would affect the results. While she was having symptoms they checked her blood sugar and it was at 90 but at other times it will be in the 50's. She has always had digestion issues and trouble staying warm enough. She had 3 blankets on her for a bit and was still cold. She had these, and other, problems at birth but they stopped by the time she was 3. Now their back.
Today is also the first time she has lost consciousness, I'm glad we were already in the hospital. I'd have freaked if it had happened at home.
It's only 3:33 AM but I can't sleep. To much on my mind I guess. The job at Lowes didn't pan out I guess. I think that they feel I'm to old! I'll find a job if I have to be a greeter at McDonalds! Lol
Thanks. She's feeling better today. Made her sleep in the living room so I could keep an eye on her. She thinks I'm being silly....Prayers fr you and your daughter @Terri9630 .

Sorry about the Lowes job. I was up all night too. Didn't fall asleep until sometime after 5.It's only 3:33 AM but I can't sleep. To much on my mind I guess. The job at Lowes didn't pan out I guess. I think that they feel I'm to old! I'll find a job if I have to be a greeter at McDonalds! Lol
I'm in a really bad mood and tired of all the work an d no play ,sick animals, boredom and heat!
Not sure which job I'll tackle today ,lawn tractor needs a starter won't be here till Monday, push mower is not fun and grass is wet till noon in all this humidity. It rains everyday =for past 3 months and my get up and go has got up and went.
Sounds like your tractor can't get no traction!
Been like this for months here as well... But, having no job has made it easier to get other things done. At least when the house isn’t full of kids and it’s not raining. I figure the job thing will sort itself in time. Your not alone in your struggles.
My wife is the assistant director for a summer camp for a youth and teen group. She and our son left today for 10 days of summer camp in the mountains leaving me home (blissfully) alone. I work anywhere from 40-60 hours a week off the farm and we are making and delivering hay now, between downpours, so it's pretty busy here. We have roughly 15 egg chickens that need to be fed, watered, locked up at night, etc and maybe 15 peeps that we decided to let hatch with another dozen in the incubator. We also have a fish tank, 3 house cats, barn cats, and a dog. Usually DW handles the critters but this week, starting today, I'm on double duty. It's a busy time but I enjoy it. I love my family but I look forward to this week every year.
been doing a lot of errands this week , got sidetracked with oldest daughter in california hospital. she said they took excellant care of her. sil who is a nurse said if she hadn't got there when she did she was fixing to be in serios trouble. she had sephios. i'm not sure i spelled that right. anyway she had a place on her back that swelled up and turned red, she also said that it hurt and the red had started coming under her arm and belly.it also had fever. her blood sugar was 325. it is clearing up and her blood sugar is now mostly 115, but last night went down to 52. i don't understand all of this but i do know that 52 is way too low. she is back home and under her doctor's care; she is keeping her on the insulin for now'
